I don't update this page often, so many or all of the item prices listed here may be inaccurate. It's always a good idea to check all item prices on the shop wizard before stocking your shop, creating a trade, putting something up for auction, or offering on a trade or auction lot.
Getting the Lab Ray:
The Secret Labratory and its magic ray gun are some of the the most sought after things on neopets, and there's always a ton of people wanting to buy it, or know how to get to it. Here's how it works: first, you have to collect all nine pieces of the Secret Labratory Map. Single pieces sell in users shops for 50,000NP, and you can buy a full set for 500,000NP, so buying pieces one at a time is cheaper. You can also get pieces from rare random events. It's good to keep them in your safety deposit box until you have all the pieces, since each one is an actual item. When you have all the pieces in your inventory, go to games, then puzzles, then treasure maps, then secret lab to claim your prize. You get 10,000 neopoints and access to the secret lab forever, although the map pieces will dissapear. You can zap your pet with the lab ray once a day, and it can do ANYTHING to your pet. Change stats, color, species, and even gender. There's also a petpet lab ray now, which can change your petpet's name as well as all the other things, but you must have the original lab ray before collecting your prize for the petpet lab map, which also has nine pieces. Here's a good page about it:

Completing Brain Tree Quests:
The Brain Tree in the Haunted Woods gives very unusual quests. Instead of asking for items, he will ask for the time and place of the death of some character you've never heard of. There is only one way to get the information. No, it's not asking on the boards. It won't do any good, because even if the people are the same, the answers are randomly chosen. If you need information on Howard Chomby, for example, the answer could be 32 BN (Before Neopia) in Brightvale. However, for another person it could be 14 BN in Happy Valley. The only way to find the answers to the Brain Tree's questions is to feed the esophagor twice. The first time he will tell you the time, and the second time he will tell you the place. Don't just try to guess the answers, it won't work. And even if you do guess correctly he won't accept your answer if you haven't already fed the esophagor twice. The esophagor is the big ugly mud monster with the moaning face right under the Brain Tree on the map, and he's very clearly labeled, "The Esophagor." Here's yet another tip: It's not a good idea to do the esophagor quests if they end up costing you more than 3,000 NP altogether. Brain Tree prizes usually aren't worth any more than that. If you manage to complete the first esophagor quest, you'll get him as a battledome opponent, and if you complete the entire Brain Tree quest, you'll get the Brain Tree as an opponent.
Getting a Krawk Neopet:
If when you were creating a neopet you tried to choose a krawk, a window probably popped up saying that they weren't available, and wouldn't let you get one. Krawks are the rarest pet in Neopia, at less than 3,000 currently in existence. This is because there is a secret way to get them that not everyone knows and is very expensive. Here's how: first, you have to make sure you have less than four neopets, otherwise this won't work. Then buy a certain petpet. A krawk. There is a krawk petpet, available at the trading post for about 1 million neopoints. They also stock at the Tyrannian petpet shop, and cost less than 100,000, but this is very rare. Once you have the krawk petpet, attach it to one of your neopets. Then decide on a name for your future krawk neopet and enter it in the search box on the sidebar. Keep doing this until you come up with a name that isn't already taken. Give the krawk petpet that name by going to the quick ref page and clicking on it. Then make the pet with the krawk your active pet, and go to Krawk Island. Look for the Smuggler's Cove sign. There are two caves there, click on the smaller one, on the left. It's the Krawk Island Fungus Caves. You will have the option of feeding the krawk some fungus, say yes. It will then morph into a krawk neopet. Color and gender are randomly chosen.
Getting a Draik Neopet:
Draiks are the second rarest pet (about 10,000 in existence), since they are only a little less expensive than krawks. To get one, you can always use a morphing potion, transmogrification potion, or magical plushie to change an existing pet into a draik, but to create a new one, you have to buy a draik egg. You can get these at the trading post for about 1 million NPs, and on draik day the food shop in meridell stocks some for about 60,000 NPs. Once you have the egg, go to the draik nest. It's a hidden page, and you have to type it in the adress bar, or just click here.
Getting any other Limited Edition Neopet:
Some pets are "limited edition" or "restricted" and can't be created in the normal way. Kikos, chombies, hissies, kois, jetsams, poogles, and cybunnies can only be created on their pet day once a year. To find a pet's day, just go to pet central and click "calendar," or just click here. There is no special way to get them, but on their day, a limited number are available in create a pet. Of course, you can always get one from the pound, or use a morphing potion or magical plushie. Tonus are released in create a pet in packets of about 50-500 at a time randomly. To get a grundo, go to the virtupets space station and click "adopt a grundo." You can choose from more than the normal colors, and there are an infinite number available.
Healing Your Sick Pet
There are three ways. The first one is to go to the hospital on the main shops map and find out what cure you have to buy. Then follow the link at the top of that page to the pharmacy and buy it. If they don't have it, search on the shop wizard. The cures are very expensive though. The second way is to go to the message boards and beg for someone to donate to you. This is illegal though, so I don't reccomend it. The third way, which is the only practical one, is to make your sick pet your active one, and go to faerieland and click on the healing springs. Then click "heal my pet." She may not do it right away, but she will heal your pet eventually; you can come back every half hour, and it's free. This works with all diseases. Do not give your pet the potions she may give you, they will not work (they're for healing lost hitpoints). You will not lose your pet if you do not take care of it. It will not die, it will not be automatically sent to the pound. Do not believe anyone who tells you otherwise.
Using the Rainbow Fountain:
Ok, first I want to make sure you know the differences and the similarities the rainbow fountain and the rainbow pool. The rainbow pool can be used to change your pet's color with a magic paint brush. The rainbow fountain can also be used to change your pet's color, but not in the same way. Normally, when you go to the fountain, you will get a picture of the fountain faerie (different from the water faerie) and the message "Sorry, the fountain isn't working right now! Unfortunately it seems that too many Neopets have bathed in these magical waters and have used up all the fountain's magical power. Oh well :( Maybe if you come back at another time you will be slightly more lucky!" Well, the message is just to mislead you. You can actually use it, but only under certain conditions. You have to recieve a quest from the fountain faerie. It will look exactly like any other faerie quest random event. Fountain Faerie quests are very rare, and completely random. She will also ask for a very rare and expensive item. Once you have the item, go to the faerie quests page and give it to her. Then, the next time you go to the rainbow fountain, you will be able to use it to paint your pet almost any color. If you want to see screenshots, and find out more about the rainbow fountain, click here.
Using the Discarded Grundo Plushie in Faerieland:
Look at the main faerieland map. In the cloud to the left of the city there is a small speck. Click on it. Or click here. You will be taken to a page titled "The Discarded Magical Blue Grundo Plushie of Prosperity," with text underneath saying "Somebody has left their Blue Grundo Plushie here. What a poor unwanted little guy, maybe you should talk to him... no, he's just a toy, he won't answer you. Don't be silly!" Below there is a picture of a sad blue grundo plushie lying on a cloud. If you click the picture, a window will appear that says "..." and, more rarely, "O_o." Now, to get to the point: many people think that everything on neopets has to have some purpose, and therefore there is some way to talk to the plushie, or something like that. Well, there isn't. The plushie is completely useless. There is no way to talk to it, or do anything else with it. Some people say that they know a way to get free stuff from the plushie, and they will tell you how if you give them 1,000 neopoints or something like that. You may report them for scamming. There are just some places on neopets that don't really have a purpose. The plushie I just told you about, the Mystery Island harbor, and the lair of the beast are some of them.
Creating Your Own Adoption Agency:
Creating your own private adoption agency might be a lot simpler than it seems. That's because private adoption agencies controlled by a single neopets user were invented by neopians, not by the neopets team. So there's actually no official way to make one, like there is with shops and galleries. Just take pets out of the pound and put them back in; that's all there is to it. But you're not allowed to charge for it.
