Odyssey's Guild Committees
Welcome to Odyssey's Guild Committees Page. If you are here, I am sure you are thinking about being on one of Odyssey's many committees! Here is all the information you need to decide where you'll fit, as well as who is already on the committees!
Committee Rules
Here are the rules for each committee.
1) Each committee must follow all guild and Neopets rules.
2) Each committee must consist of no more than 10 members.
3) Committees are allowed to have their own pages, but they must be approved of by the Captain (Ava) and by the committee head, if the committee head has handed this duty over to someone other than themselves.
4) Committees can be added/removed at any time if rules are broken or there is a need/loss of need for the committee.
More rules may be added at any time if the Captain or committee heads feel they are necessary, so keep looking for them.
Committee Explanations
Below are the committees, the positions available, and how you can get on each committee. Some entail more effort than others, and there are reasons for this. If you are very opposed to these, and you have a good reason for the change, neomail Ava with your opinon and reasonings.
All Heads of Committees oversee the procedings of the committee. Once a committee head is elected, they, along with Ava, will appoint all directors, except those that have large enough jobs to be considered electable.
Graphics Committee
Head of Committee
Director of Banners: Works closely with the head of the committee to select only the best banners for the guild, making sure they coincide with graphics requirements and are of the highest quality. He or she ensures that the graphics compliment Odyssey's mission or layout graphics and that not too many are accepted within a certain period of time. He or she can help to act as a judge if a graphic activity is being held.
Director of Buttons: Works closely with the head of the committee to select only the best buttons for the guild, making sure they coincide with graphics requirements and are of the highest quality. He or she ensures that the graphics compliment Odyssey's mission or layout graphics and that not too many are accepted within a certain period of time. He or she can help to act as a judge if a graphic activity is being held.
Director of Graphics Monitoring: Closely monitors other guild's graphics to be sure that our coding/designs are not being plagerized by others. They also make sure our graphics submissions are of original high quality design.
Activities Committee
Head of Committee
Director of Activities: Works closely with the head of the committee and Ava to be sure that activities pages do not overlap, do not plagerize other's work, and are actively participated in. They help look at applications to decide if another page is necessary and if it will benefit the guild.
Director of Monitoring Activities: Weekly moniotors activities to be sure that they are updated when promised, are not overlapping, and are original and high quality.
Director of Points Management: Will check in with those running pages/activities that involved awarding points to be sure that another member knows the point counts. They will help Ava keep the points accurate and up to date, making sure that all members who need to report their point counts to both the DPM (this position) and Ava.
Director of Popularity: Will be sure to discuss with members what activities they would like to participate in. They will help brainstorm new pages/activities for the guild to participate in to be sure that the guild has creative options at all times.
Director of Judges: Oversees all large activities (with the assistance of Ava) and makes sure that all rules are in place, as well as the activity is fair and impartial. They will take register forms for anything that requires such a precaution and will be sure that points are awarded to those selected. They will oversee the actual judgings and can help serve as a vote if necessary.
Judges (3): Judge large activities. Each has one vote. There may be more judges per activity depending upon the nature of the activity.
Yearbook Committee
Head of Committee
Director of Information: Works closely with members to make sure that all the information on their page is updated and accurate. They should check the guild yearbook once a week to make sure there is no information missing except that which is optional.
Director of Member Upkeep: Checks the yearbook at least once a week to make sure that all memebers listed are still in the guild. They should also check the guild memebers list to ensure that all members are in the yearbook. They work closely with the committee head to ensure that members are listed.
Recruitment Committee
Head of Committee
Director of Advertising: This is the head of advertising for the guild. They will be in charge if making guild boards with the Captain (Ava). Of course, ANYONE can advertise and make appropriate guild boards, but the DAdvert acts as a moderator. They go out and make sure advertising is appropriate, personal, and follows how we would want to be recruited for a guild.
Director of Invitations: This memeber will be most active when the guild is private. They are in charge of sending out invites. They (along with the council) will be the ONLY memebers allowed to send invites. They will be emailed by members who wish to give someone an invite and they will be expected to make sure that those members that would fit well in the guild get the invite they deserve.
Director of Privacy: Keeps track of when teh guild goes private or public. They will make sure that everything that states if we are public or private says so, and they will be in charge of applications (if there ever is an application process). They will be in charge of days where the guild becomes public and making sure that anyone who is causing trouble in the guild is deleted or blocked as necessary.
Director of Ads: Works on advertisements for the guild. They will make sure all the ads contain correct spelling and grammar, and are truthful, eyecatching, and contain everything needed for proper recruitment. They also work closely with the graphics site to ensure those advertisements are up to par with the board ads.
Research Committee
Head of Committee
Director of Public Relations: Checks how the public feels about the guild by looking on the boards for how Neopians relate to the guild. They will screencap/quote feedback (of course making it anonymous!) and keep track of how we fix/keep up these positive or negative images.
Director of Council/Member Relations: This member is not a part of council, but keeps up with council chatter/ideas and reports it back to the members. They make sure the council, committees, and the members who do not hold a position are all communicating effectively and are on the same page.
Director of Member Suggestions: They keep track of ideas from members via boards and neomail. They will make a weekly report, neomail it to Ava and Ava will report on each of these suggestions on the boards or via neomail, depending on the week and amount of suggestions.
Pages Committee
Head of Committee
Director of Page Monitoring: Looks at each guild page about once a week to check for coding issues, typos, and updating. They will make sure each page is up to date and works in whatever browsers they can check. They make sure no two pages are too alike, and that our pages are original and no one else has taken them.
Director of Page Selection: Heads the "committee" to select pages. They go over applications, help decide the need for each page. They make sure that the applicants will actually do as they promise in their applications.
