Truthfully, vampires aren't born to be miserable. At least Crimson wasn't. Then again, Crimson wasn't supposed to be born at all. Under rule of Mukaiers, a vampire lupe 'tribe' had strict orders. Vampires are immortal of course unless a more powerful being challenges them. That's what happened to Mukaier's father, who ruled with harmony in his tribe until he "mysteriously" died and Mukaier took control. Nothing was more obvious than that Mukaier had taken his father down with somehow obtained powers. So when Mukaier was crowned, many new laws were added: including no births. For some reason, Mukaier was inwardly frightened of new additions to the tribe.

That became a problem when Mukaier's younger brother, Sindak, and Sindak's mate, Romesa, gave birth secretly to a son. They knew they would be ordered to kill him if they showed him to Mukaier. Being risktakers and having too much of a heart to kill their kin, they placed their son by a small stream. With a kiss the forhead, he was left there all alone, just a pup. For years he was haunted with nightmares of his parents' death: returning to their tribe inconspicuously at night, but not fooling Mukaier. He had noticed that Romesa had been hiding herself in their den for the past few months and that something in the air wasn't right. No one knows for sure how they died besides their own son who was plagued with these dreams.

A number of years ago, Crimson found himself almost at the claws of Mukaier. This revealed to Crimson that Mukaier is trying to get a hold of him. The reasons are unknown to Crimson, but deep down, he feels frightened a bit, although he believes it holds an amount of significance to his life. He has come to this conclusion: Mukaier wants to get rid of Crimson - permanently - for whatever reason it was that Crimson was not to be born in the first place. So this is Crimson's present: constantly on the run.

And here he is now. Crimson has faced many truths about his life now. He cannot die. The nighttime is something he'll never himself experience.. there are many more things. He is running from Mukaier, never knowing who he'll run into on the way.

One painful lesson Crimson has learned while on this journey of life is that although he in basically indestructable on the outside, his heart is completely prone to breakage.

In his earlier days, his heart flew easily to another named Darcent. They were young yet, but Crimson still felt as though his heart had been eased when he was with her for a while. Unfortunately, the feelings did not remain permanent. Perhaps it was because his own life became too chaotic that he couldn't deal with a relationship like this, and Crimson shattered Darcent's heart into a million pieces, as he walked away from their relationship ashamed.
Soon, Crimson found himself in the arms of another. He loved Mist more than he loved himself, and he felt he owed everything to her. Perhaps it was his own fault, but Mist left Crimson for another, smashing his heart into crumbs. Heart-broken and filled with hatred, Crimson found himself in such fury that he never wanted to love again. They eventually did meet again and things were attempted to be set right, but Crimson's pain still lingers within him.
Later, Crimson met another named Kali, who fell for Crimson although Crimson did not return the feelings. He felt terrible that he become emotionless to others' adoration, but he still mourned the fact his heart wasn't recovering easily from Mist. Crimson also ran into Darcent once more, and they attempted to try again, but knew that neither of them would be able to look over their first relationship.

Crimson is too afraid to love now as he has found himself how destructive it is. It has scared his heart many times, and to him, has proved to be more of a burden than much else. His heart is presently composed of glass.
