Eve

Greetings

Silence. That was all that could be heard except the soft rustling of the wind in the treetops, and the faint sound of your footsteps on the forest floor. It's dark, and suddenly you hear leaves move unnaturally. You turn to see what it was...but you find nothing. Sighing you turn and gasp in surprise. There sitting before you is an unusual xweetok. She has dark shadowy fur, and Pink hair. She has a couple earrings in each ear, and two purple glowing spheres attatched to a string that is wrapped around her neck. She tilts her head and you notice the purple bead and feather tied into her hair, as well as the strange looking crown upon her head. She looks up at you with purple eyes. "What are you doing here?
You don't reply at first, but then you come to your senses.
Er...I was just taking a walk." You finally manage to utter. The strange xweetok tilts her head again and stands up.
These woods are dangerous, stranger. You should probably leave.
She turns to walk away. You notice another strange trait, there are eight black circles on her back, four on each side. You stop her.
Wait...
Her head turns back.
Wh...who are you?
She looks away from you...

Story

A long time ago, when I was little, I had an owner...I had a so called 'family'. But I was never included. My owner had three other pets. Rare pets at that, she didn't want to pay any attention to me...and I eventually ran away. I came across a large forest, and deeper into it I found a river by which a young shadow xweetok, about my age, was getting a drink. We became friends very soon. A year passed, and my feelings towards him became greater than that of friendship. One night, during a full moon, he decided to take me into a small cave. He said he wanted to show me something. So I followed and we came to a room which had a gap in the cieling where the full moon's light reflected off a small pool of water on the cave floor. He smiled at me and I lingered closer to the pool. I peered into it and saw a very clear reflection of myself.
Its beautiful.' I told him.
He didnt answer, and when I looked at him, his eyes were glowing and there was a strong wind coming down through the hole in the top of the cave. He touched the pool's water and it glowed with the same light as his eyes.
Finally I can have my freedom!' Suddenly the water rose from the ground as if it were alive, and it dived at me. I screamed and tried to run, but it pulled me back. I heard him laughing in the background, and then I couldn't see anymore. Everything was black. Id passed out cold.
I woke up the next morning, with strange new markings on my body, black leatherlike wings, and two glowing purple orbs on a string that floated around my tail. I glanced in the pool which seemed still as ever. I had purple eyes too. Weary from what had happened, I staggered out of the cave, and found a tree to rest under. Not a moment after I laid down, the one I thought I knew came out of the brush with a knife. He came at me and I tried to talk him out of killing me. I started to run, but he caught up to me and stabbed my back leg. A wave of fury ran through my whole body, and the string with the orbs unraveled off of my tail. I lost all control of myself and I killed him. I collapsed from exhaustion and the string wound itself back around my tail. After a long sleep I awoke next to his body. Something even more strange happend next. I heard his voice. I jumped up and looked around. I saw a faded figure of him. His soul. His ghost. It was there watching me and mumbling to what seemed no one. I could see lost souls too? It was too much, I was terrified, so I ran as far away from the river as possible.

.:~*~:.

I was almost sixteen when I met Xora. She was nice, or what seemed like that. I wont say she was exactly like me. She had a family. But apparently her father wasnt kind to her. She was cast out of her home because of her power. She was a poison xweetok and she almost killed her brother by accident. He lived thankfully. I met her one night while it was raining. I stumbled upon her cave where I was trying to get out of being wet. She greeted me sweetly and said I could stay with her as long as I wanted. It was a little annoying that she was the same age as me yet she had a tendancy to act as my elder. I guess she kind of had to grow up a little fast to take care of herself. She was pretty spiritual. Some nights she would gaze at the stars, and sometimes she would tell me of her dreams. She believed them to be signs of the past present or future. Apparently shes not yet had a crazy dream that makes no sense at all. I asked her if she had once, and she told me that the stars kept her from dreaming unessecary things. I didn't push the matter any further. Sometimes when I would talk to her she made it seem as if I were her enemy. She wouldn't tell me why she was acting that way, but I figured it had something to do with a dream that she'd had.
One of the nights I stayed with her, a couple of humans came across the cave we were staying in. They were only young teenagers so they thought it would be funny to mess with us. They chased us around the whole cave and cornered us. They prodded us with sticks. What was living inside me I found to be a Guardian Spirit, and whenever I'm in trouble it will aid me in any way. I'd had enough of the humans torturing us, and I snapped. In the couple years since I'd obtained this power, I've learned to control most of it, then I had some control, but little. I chased the humans out of the cave and we never saw them again. Unfortunately I almost killed Xora. I didn't hurt her, but one of the swings I'd taken at her would have been fatal. She was very angry and told me that she knew exactly what I posessed, and all the power that went with it. She wanted me out of her cave and I didnt take being rejected very well. I lost it again in that same night. I didn't lay a single claw on her...but she got ahold of both of my batlike wings and let her poisonous claws sink into them. It hurt like nothing I'd ever felt before. It was like my wings were on fire. I ran far away from her cave. I managed to look back once, to see her infuriated face. I felt like I'd been betrayed all over again.

You didn't mean to stare but what Eve had just told you shocked you.
Thats how your wings...' You couldn't finish your sentence. Eve didn't even have to nod or anything.

I'd met Xora another time after that. I'd asked her why she had been so mean to me, why she'd hatd me so much. Her response was...complicated. She said that her homeland had been taken over by mortals, and that there was a prophecy that would let one of three siblings take the throne to the kingdom. She told me, getting rid of me would give her a better chance at becoming the ruler of her kingdom. Of course I had no idea what she was talking about...
It wasn't long after that, when I had met Shiro, and his friend Hiroshi. We traveled to a land called Kioku Saisei, where we met many other xwees. Though most of them had been chasing a demon, Tasogare I think. We'd decided to help out, and I told Shiro and Hiroshi to go on ahead, for I had felt something watching me from the forest. Turns out, it was Xora. She got away the first time we chatted, but I caught up to her and we got into a fight. She told me we were related, and how my mother had run away with me, to protect me from my father. We soon were falling off into the giant gorge that separated the Northern Territories. Shiro saved us and trapped Xora on the other side of the gorge. I was furious though, she had tried to swing at me, but clawed Shiro in the face! Completely enraged and confused, I stormed off to find my mother, I refused to believe she was dead. I hoped that she would help me understand things better.

It didn't take me long to find her, for she sensed Xora had revealed my past and came to look for me. She explained that when we were born she and my father were notified of a prophecy that foretold our birth. One of us was to be the next ruler of our kingdom. My father didn't like that there were three of us. He wanted his only son, Neko, to be the next ruler, but my mother didn't want that. My father threatened to kill me, so my mother ran off with me and she was never seen by anyone again.
She gave me the crown of Verenada and told me that after I put it on, I would be different, and she wouldn't see me for a while. She told me not to worry, and that I would know what I had to do. I put on the crown and its power lifted me off the ground and changed the color of my fur, the pattern even. I passed out, and when I woke up, my mother was gone. I was still cursed with the guardian spirit, for the two glowing spheres were around my neck. My bone wings were gone, in their place were eight black spheres, four on each side of my back. I have no idea what they are for, but I feel I will find out soon. One thing that caught my eye was the bead and feather lying on the ground next to me. I smiled, realizing where I had truly gotten it. My mother must have given it to me when she left me with the humans. So she would know, who I was when fate finally brought us back together.

I left to find my friends, and followed their trail to the land of Kodoku. A curious place. I met a very nice xwee named Fericeus. He helped me to find Shiro and Hiroshi. I certainly owe him a favor in return.

Love

Oh, Fericeus is such a nice xweetok. I like him quite a bit, and it took me a while to figure it out. Now I fear my emotions have gotten the better of our friendship...or what could have been...I am not sure...I hope he will forgive me.

Friends?

Shiro is quite the gentleman. He is almost always polite, even in the strangest and most dangerous situations. I met him a while before we came to Kioku Saisei. He has a crush on Akiko, and I'm always teasing him. They certainly make a cute couple, and I wish him the best in winning her heart.

Hiroshi, I met at the same time I met Shiro. They are good friends, and I must admit, I didn't exactly make good company for her when we first met. However, now that I am to one day rule my homeland, I will definately treat her and everyone else I know with respect.

Akiko is a very sweet, but shy xwee. She has a crush on Shiro, and they're almost always beside one another. She is very pretty, and whether Shiro could see her or not, I'm sure he sees her beauty anyway.

Kiyake I met in Kodoku with Fericeus. I dont know much about her, but she seems really nice. She's pretty jumpy, like a kit would be, but thats what makes her, well...her.

The Crown of Verenada
