ABOUT US CITIES ECONOMY IMPROVEMENT RULES APPLICATION PREVIEW

About Us

Hello wandering Nomad, or perhaps are you a Tourist? Either way, you survived the apocalypse. However, there is still danger out there, as zombies continue to form and attack. That's where we come in. Four survivors from 4 different lands got together and are currently rebuilding and replenishing 4 locations. It's a tough effort, and we all have different strengths, but we work together to make all of our places better, or, at least as good as it can get after the end of the world. To join the effort, you do not need to be an expert. You just need to have a thirst for learning the trade of the cities. Interested in joining the effort? Read further, and learn more about our world.

The Cities (Ranks)

Darigan: This place used to be one of the roughest places. However, upon revival, it's taking a more literary route. Find out more about them from their HQ here.

Haunted Woods: The land of ghouls and ghosts put their scare tactics and brute force to good use, creating a city with great battledome skill. Find out more about them from their HQ here.

Faerieland: Faerieland is good at finding things, including avatars and other sorts of collections. Find out more about them from their HQ here.

Krawk Island: The sunny island followed Darigan's lead, but took a more visual approach to their art. Find out more about them from their HQ here.

Tourist: This is the rank for people who don't necessarily want to be a part of a city and work, but want to hang around the area and talk with the citizens and encourage them.

The Economy

In order to properly function and rebuild, we need GC (Guild Currency). GC can be earned in various ways:

1 GC per post (Calculated daily at around 11 to 12 pm NST)
50 GC per guild layout/userlookup made
25 GC per banner/font made
100 GC per page/service/activity created
20 GC per week owning a page

On top of that, you can earn extra GC awarded at guild functions, and activity pages made by members.

You can also sell services within your trade to other members to make GC. For example, you're in the Avatar city and someone from another city wants to be lent something. You can charge a fair price, or you can also be nice and lend for free. All of the GC you make will be duplicated on an overall city level, which means that it exists on a personal level as well for you to use. However, if you want something and you're a little short on cash, you can work out a loan of overall city money with your city leader, as well as how it will be paid back.

This, however, differs if you're a Tourist. The rank Tourist is intended to be kind of the chillax rank for people who don't have the want or time to participate in activities and such. Since you aren't in a city, the personal money you have is only your own, and isn't duplicated to a larger scale, which means no access to loans from a larger pool.

What can GC be used for other than helping your city? First of all it can help you purchase things from another trade if they require a fee. Secondly, there will be certain things in the guild (1 np auctions for example) that may cost GC to enter. Lastly, it can be used to build things for your city.

Improve your City

GC can be used to purchase new buildings and such to improve the city. How this is done depends on the city. It can be done in a way where the leader decides everything, the leader can take a vote, the leader can take in suggestions from members, or whatever they feel is right. Most buildings that can be purchased come from the city level pool of money that everyone has made overall. The exception is building your own house.

The cost of houses you can get are:

Shack: 50 GC
Small House: 250 GC
Medium House: 600 GC
Large House: 1,250 GC
Mansion: 5,000 GC

You'll probably want to start with a Shack, however, you can upgrade your house down the road for the cost of the house you're upgrading to minus the one you already have (For Example, it would be 200 GC to upgrade to a Small House from a Shack).

City Buildings

Unlike your own houses, these will be taken care of from the city's overall pool that everyone has earned together. They will come in standard sizes (Small/Medium/Large).

Other Houses (100/250/500)
City Hall (200/450/700)
Shops/Business (100/350/700)
Entertainment (200/500/800)
Restaurant (100/300/600)
Medical (150/400/800)

Rules

1. We follow Neopets' terms and conditions, and don't want to risk the safety of our members.
2. No drama or fighting. If there's a problem, it's better to take it to neomail, or ask a council member to help out.
3. No spamming. This means no messages without point (like a post with only a smilie), no posts with less than 3 words, and no more than 3 posts in a row.
4. We are a Relaxed Literate guild. This means proper capitalization, and punctuation are necessary. However, we do allow lol, and brb.
5. Activeness is required to make this as fun as possible. If you join a city, you are required to post at least once every week. If you're a Tourist, this is a little more lax since others aren't depending on your participation, so if you're a Tourist, you must post once a month.
6. We do an inactive sweep every Sunday. If you aren't within the active guidelines at this time, you are at risk of being swept. You are also at risk if you joined and still have 0 posts after a week.
7. That being said, we are definitely understanding that life gets busy sometimes. If something comes up and you can't fulfill the activeness requirement for a while, please let someone in council know through neomail. The neomail part is important, because if you just post it, it could be missed and you might be mistakenly swept. Once you do, you will be put on the No Sweep List temporarily, found here.
8. We have a member cap of 75 members (15 per each city, and 15 tourists).
9. Remember to have fun! This guild was intended for fun, so remember to enjoy yourself, and be respectful to other members. (:

Application & Requirements

When we're private, we require a short, low stress app. This is to get to know you a little better, and to make sure you fall into our literacy requirements. You won't be judged on answers at all, so don't sweat it too much! There may be times when we're public, and whenever those are, you can just join and bypass the app. However, you're still responsible for following the rules. Here is the app:

Name:
Timezone (related to NST):
City You're Interested In:
How Active Can you Be?:
What Interested You about Venture?:
Fun Facts About Yourself! (Can be cool, silly, or whatever):

This is the basic app for joining the guild. Each city may have a low-level extra requirement to make sure you're interested in the trade of the city. However, again, it's low stress, as you don't need to be an expert.

Applications can be sent to either Rusty, Mac, Lee, or Jess.
