Welcome guest to Velvety Adoptions! We opened on February 12, 2011. Velvety Adoptions is more than just an adoption agency. We list pets that are looking for homes, pets we are currently zapping to a pet that someone would be interested in having, and we also list your dream pets. Those are just some of the things we offer for now :) As we find homes for our pets we will continue to grow and added new features :)

Please note: If you ever lose interest in a pet you've adopted from us, or are quitting Neopets, we'd appreciate it if you neomail us and tell us so we can find him/her a new home!

All pets listed on this page require an application to be adopted unless otherwise stated. You can make a neomail application or a petpage application. If you make a petpage application please write somewhere that no one forced you to make it, just to be safe! Either one you make is terrific just as long as you answer the questions we want answered, and shows you put effort into writing creative answers. No one is forcing you to make an application, and there is no guarantee that making an application will get you the pet you want. There are others who apply for the pet so we can only chose one owner. You can find the application information in the Apply tab above.

There is more than one zapper in this agency so please be sure your neomail the correct person for the pet you would like to apply for.

Rules

1. Please neomail the owner of the pet before you send in an application.
If you neomail the owner before you apply for a pet, they know to expect an application from you. We wouldn't want to accept a previous application until we've had the chance to read yours. If you go all out on an application, we would feel terrible if a new owner was already found, and you did the application without even being considered.

2. Either a Neomail or Petpage Application is fine!
If you aren't too familiar with coding and can only write an amazing application, that's fine :) We understand, and if you just write a neomail to me answering the questions we have and adding a little creative edge to it, and that would be enough. All we ask is that more of your focus is on your writing as that shows us you put effort into your application. If you make a petpage application and have an awesome petpage but you lack terrific content, you probably won't be accepted.

3. Be calm, cool & relaxed :)
When sending in your application, please, please, please be polite. You automatically will not get accepted if you act in a rude manner. Also, if you do not get accepted, please do not get angry at anyone. Someone else's application appealed more to the owner, so they got the lovely foster. I'm sure there will be other opportunities for you to get a pet you like :)

4. Remember these!
Please remember our pets are 'he' or 'she', not 'it'. So please do not refer to our pets as 'it'.
Your account must be 4+ months old, and have 3 or less pets in order for you to adopt!
We care for the pets that are adopted out, so please check to make sure you spell everything right as we will be picky with content!

Application

It looks like you've read through the rules and found a pet you'd like to apply for! To apply for one of our pets, you must incorporate the answers to these questions in your application:

1. Why do you want the pet? - (please include a creative answer - not simply because it's your dream)
2. What are you plans for him or her? - (please be honest and do not just say you will feed him/her)
3. Which account will he or she be on if you are chosen, and is it a main or side?
4. Please tell me a little about your Neopets life. Your favorite hobbies, achievements, etc.
5. Anything in particular you want me to know? Please include it here!
