Becca's Rainy Day NP Making Guide/Partial Game Guide
For those days when you've got nothing to do... but earn
So I imagine you're wondering why it's the Rainy Day Guide? Playing all of these games is rather time consuming… but still it pays off in the end. And besides, I've been noticing that there are a ton of people inquiring about NP making guides, and since I have relatively good fortune in the NP making field, I thought I'd share it. It can't hurt to have another NP making guide floating around Neopia! This Guide will comprise of a few tips and hints to making NP, but if anyone has any info or tips they'd like to add, please neomail me and I can add it in. I've also noticed that perhaps these game tips have helped a few of you readers, or so you've said, so I decided to go a little more in depth with some gaming tips in hopes that it will help you become a better gamer.
Gaming
(note: I will try to update scores every other week or so, to keep the guide alive)
Okay, these are some of the games I play to make NP, and I only play every single one if I have enough time. I'm not going to try to say it's a quick NP making guide, but it is good if you have some time to kill and are working on a goal. I've also included the scores of games I'm playing at the moment to show a more realistic tally. I realize that (some) of these scores may seem impossible to obtain, but when you spend enough time gaming, you get better and better. It takes practice. ALSO! Never settle for a low score just to make quick NPs! You will make more NP if you put a little more effort into it.
Also, when a new game comes out, try it! You may like it! You may also find that you are good at it and can make lots of NP just from that game!
That being said, enjoy. The games are linked, but I haven't figured out how to link it to where a new window opens up just yet. The games are listed in no particular order, since most of the time I go back and forth, but let's start with-
Hasee Bounce:
This game is fun! I really like the Soundtrack, it's fun to listen to while playing. When you're playing, if you run out of time, type in "doughnutfruit" to reset the clock. Good code eh? As for the gaming tips themselves, I really only have two. One is obvious, stay away from the things that will hurt your Hasees, and two, try to double up your score. How is this done? Get more than one doughnutfruit in the same bounce. For example, if there is a doughnutfruit coming from underneath the Purple Hasee, and at the same time there is one under the Orange Hasee, try for both! You'll get what I mean when you start to play the game. Also, if you miss the Fish, Rainbow or Icy Doughnutfruits, kick yourself. Twice. Once for me, and then once for you.

Snowmuncher:
I love Dieter! He's such a little cutie. If he gets too bloated and you are in need of a bloat-b-gone, type in "buuuurrrrrrrrp" (that's 4 "u"s and 8 "r"s. You get used to it XD) When I play this game, I like to remember that you still get points for blocks that are destroyed, even if you don't eat them yourself. Avoiding the wurms is a big factor, they really can be a pain, literally. xD And in a pinch, speed is a factor. So I guess the more seasoned you get, the better you'll get.

Extreme Herder:
Okay does anyone but me despise Balthazar? He's so annoying, always trying to eat the little petpets. Well, it's time to get revenge!! To stop him dead in his tracks, type "freeze" and he'll be frozen for a few seconds, allowing you a quit getaway from his jaws-o-death. If you need to drop a petpet to retrieve another, press the spacebar. Also, the portals are not always so good to use, and it's good to stay away from them unless you intend to use them, because they could get you eaten. I really like to get the little yellow balls that make you go faster, they REALLY help in a time of life or death. But don't be too hasty and run into Balthazar.

Meerca Chase II:
Who doesn't love Neggs? Chasing them is even more fun! And it's WAY better when you type a code in that will get you an 18x multiplier. Just open up the game, then click on Classic, Easy and hit start, then type in "superextrahypergravitymode" then just hit the wall. Then hit "Try Again" and you'll be taken to the Gravity Mode. To control the Meerca, keep your finger on the up arrow button, and direct him with the left and right arrow buttons. You want to stay away from the wall, and the middle.

Faerie Bubbles:
Er, this game and I don't get along. I've come 11 points shy of the avatar like a hundred times, and it's frustrating as all get out. But anyway, there are like, four codes to this game. Typing in "slumberberry" will send the bubbles back to the top of the screen. This is good to save until like level twelve and up. Typing in "bubbles" will turn all of the bubbles into one color. Be careful though, because you don't wanna type it in if the bubbles are close to the bottom of the screen, just in case they're the purple bubbles. *gulp* Typing in "stardust" will give you a Nova bubble. This will pop a certain number of bubbles, making them disappear forever. Typing in "faerieland" will give you a question mark bubble, I guess you could call it a morphing bubble? Anywho, it will turn into whichever bubble you shoot it at. For example, if you shoot it at two yellow bubbles, it will turn into a yellow bubble and the bubbles will pop. You'll see what I mean when you start to play :P The codes are best saved until the later levels, but if you have to use them sooner, go for it!

Turmac Roll:
Aww… little Turmy… so cute… anywho, instead of trying to feed him your petpets, this time you're trying to score berries for his Highness. I always play on Hard, since you get a higher score. I guess it just depends on the person and their preferences… you can either get a lot of points quickly, or get a lot taking more time. I like to do things quickly. I'm not sure of any codes, but if you know of any, let me know and I'll post them. You just want to get the timing down on his jumps and whatnot. You press the right arrow to start him moving, and the left arrow to slow him down if he's going too fast. And of course you use the up arrow to jump.

Destruct-O-Match II:
Ever since I got this avatar, I LOVE this game. It's so fun to play. One very helpful code that will come in handy is "destroyboulders". It will destroy all blocks of one color, I think it's random which color it destroys, but it doesn't give you points. Hopefully it will create more blocks for you to destroy. Try to use that in the later levels, when the puzzle gets far more complex.

Typing Terror:
I also have the avatar with this one, got it very recently. It is hard if you are not a speed typist, because on levels four and five, and sometimes three, it gets tricky to type out the sometimes unheard of words TNT puts in there. Anywho… this game is actually pretty cool. There are no codes for this game, it's pure talent… and luck of course. Keep your eyes open for the Broken Robots, they're worth 100 points.

Ultimate Bullseye:
I have gotten so much better at this game… it's like the first game I play every day now. I've got some kind of theory that if you power it up to just past the fourth little bar, and have it aimed at just the right spot, you'll get a bullseye every time. He pretty much has it pegged, but he does it better lol. Anywho, a code for this game is "catapult". It gives you a bonus power-up.

Dubloon Disaster:
Bum bum bum… I love this game. I'm not such a big fan of the newest version, but anywho, the scoring ratio has changed. Instead of getting 170 points to earn 1000 NP, you've pretty much gotta earn every bit of that thousand points to get your NP. But don't be scared! Every dubloon has gone up in value, and now you earn five times as many points for each dubloon to pick up. For example, the 100 dubloon coin will now get you 500 points. *gasp* I know! Awesome! Well have fun! And one tip I can give… although I do not have an older computer, I do not like to play with the water effects on, makes the game better for me.

Ice Cream Machine:
Submitted by a good friend Kristen: Type in "strawberryvanillachocolate" to get an extra life before a level. Get the Bonuses! It'll make your score a lot better. Also, be sure to nab the extra lives if you can. As for the plus and minus ice creams, the plus speeds up the ice cream, and the minus slows it down. It's good to get the minus ice creams. If you get the Minus-sign ice creams, it will make the game go slower, allowing more ice creams to come onto the screen, allowing more points! All in all, I'd stay farrrrrrr away from the Plus-sign ice creams. Also, if you ca nab the shields, then yay for you! That way you can zoom all across the screen for about, three-five seconds and get all of the ice creams you can without being touched! Also, on the screens between levels, look closely at your character!

Hungry Skeith:
The first time I ever played this game, was just because it was the Featured Game. But I actually found out that it was pretty simple, and you could earn a pretty good amount of NP from it. So I like to play it from time to time. You use the left and right directional arrows to move the Buzzer, and to put the jelly items into their correct vats you use the up directional key and the left and right keys. So far I haven't discovered any tricks, except to have good hand-eye coordination, but you need that for almost every game lol.

Carnival of Terror:
My favorite game… who doesn't love shooting clowns? If you run out of time while endeavoring on your Chia Clown slaughter, type in "custard" to reset the clock. Always be on the lookout for falling clocks, health, and especially bullets. You want to try to shoot the clowns down from the sky by hitting their little umbrellas. Also, shoot the pies that are coming at you. Not only will it give you more points, but it will keep you from losing health. From time to time you have to choose between pie and power-up. My suggestion would be to know what you have. If you need time, and a clock is falling, and you have enough health, go for the clock! You could always shoot the next pie... also, it helps if you have good periphreal vision for this game. Another also, try playing it on full screen. Sometimes you have to shoot things that are on the edge of the screen, and you could accidentally click off of the game itself. Beware! Good luck!

Sophie's Stew:
I try to avoid messing with the flying Droolik, but if you bounce your item up high enough to hit him, he'll drop things for you, like extra lives, or things that will make your wand bigger or smaller. Try to avoid the ones for the bigger wand, because it makes things a little harder to control. I like to use the directional buttons instead of the mouse, because you kind of get a rhythm down. You want to try to bounce the items over in less that five-four bounces so you can get back to get the next item in time. Also, the Meowclops will eat things that re falling to the ground is he's close enough. This will impair the Meowclops for a few seconds, so make sure you are around to catch the next item Sophie tosses up. But don't count too much on the Meowclops; just because he's around to catch something doesn't mean he will. I've grown to hate that little cat, but eh… anywho game on!

Bouncy Supreme:
I am so addicted to this game now, it's not even funny. I had never even heard of it until I was checking out a friend's high score list, and I was like "Sweet!" I love Jelly games… but anyway, at first this game is challenging. But after a while, you really get the hang of it and it's SO simple! You start to feel complete with the game xD But at any rate, type in "bouncebouncebounce" to receive an extra life. I've found that you have to close the window, and reopen it after each time you send your score or want to restart the game, or the code won't work. Pretty much, you want to try to line your "bounce line" up with the first-second jellies; the ones that are hanging in the air.

Scourge of the Lab Jellies:
This is an awesome game! I love it. I really can't give any tips or advice, as this game is still so new to me, but I can say that you want to line up as many jellies in a row as you can. You get more points that way. You can line up nine in a row, so far has been my max. But maybe you could line up more? I'll get back to you on that…

Jolly Jugglers:
(submitted by megweno)
It doesn't take long to make 1k in Jolly Jugglers, less than 5 minutes really. All you have to do is get 200 points, end your game, and send. The game is terribly easy, but not too boring. Just shoot everything insight and pick up the fruit and powerups that are dropped for points. When you come upon a big group of monsters, don't worry about surviving. Its really easy to get 200 points with only 3 lives. Just jump in the middle of them, quickly changing colors back and forth to hit the one closest to you. Remember, you can't shoot through other monsters of a different color, so make sure your color matches the monster you're aiming at. For example, if the monsters are green, make sure your green character is out. If purple, make sure the purple character is out.

Restocking!
This is my favorite part about filling up my shop. Restocking. My top three, well four, favorite places to restock are- The Bakery, Chocolate Shop, Gardening Center, and the Super Happy Icy Fun Snow Shop. But beware! Some things that you may try to restock may fool you! For example, there are a few items that sell for 2500 NP in the shop, but neopians tend to sell those items for much cheaper. If you happen to purchase one of those items, don't despair. I've learned that you find the best average price, go about 100 NP lower, and try to snipe up a couple of the same item to cover your losses. You just have to remember that it's a trade that you learn as you go along. But once you get the hang of it you'll want to restock EVERYWHERE!
Things you want to try to restock:
It's best to start small, and then work your way up. And don't get discouraged if you don't get the item you were going for. Remember, the shops replenish! For example, go to the Gardening Center. If you see any Sponderolas, buy them up! They sell pretty quickly out of shops, as long as you price them correctly. Also their price fluctuates, so you want to try to keep your price at an average, unless they take a huge increase in price. Also, you can snipe up a few as you go along. If you're not familiar with the term snipe, I will explain below.
Sniping:
This is a term used by restockers to describe the ultimate joy of finding items in people's shops for FAR under the Shop Wiz average, and buying or "sniping" them up to resell in their own shop. For example- sometimes you can find codestones in people's shops for 2500 NP. Or 1 NP, if you're reeeeeeeeeally lucky. You can also find some things like paint brushes, petpet paint brushes or morphing potions if you are really really lucky. But that is a very competitive racket. I personally prefer to try to snipe up items that I sell in my shop, like coffees, doughnuts, sponderolas from time to time, and also the more expensive items. Sometimes you can find GREAT deals like 1000-2000 NPs below the normal prices.
Saving:
This is hard for a lot of people, because when you're saving, you have more things to buy! So, spend in moderation. For example, if you are training your pet, but you also want to save for a Pirate Paint Brush. Here's what you do every day when you log on. Collect bank interest, empty shop till. Deposit half, or more, of what you have on hand into your bank. Do not touch! Then, play a few games. Go train your pet! Play a few more games, and train again! Or, if you choose not to train the second time, try a little restocking! I always try to keep 10k on hand because by chance I visit a shop during its restocking time and I see some things I want to buy, I will be able to! Throughout the day, check your shop till and refill your shop. Some people prefer to just let their shop empty before they check their till, but this is requires much restraint. You must resist the urge!! Before you know it, you will be well on your way to that Pirate Paint Brush, and hey, you might even have a little left over for that adorable matching petpet!
Quotes from pwnful NP makers:
To restock you need patience. I'm sure you've heard that before but it's true. I would not be able to get 600k a day if it weren't for my patience. I live with a rather large family, of whom most aren't related to me. I have no time to myself and I learn to deal. That's how restocking is. It's irritating and you probably will hate it half the time but learn to deal. Play some music and keep refreshing. Don't let your friends distract you and most importantly, keep trying. I have missed MANY things over the years of my restocking. Many of those things were worth millions. I never gave up and neither should you.-Bick
