Name: Okay, so my real name's Arissa Blackard. But don't you dare even think about calling me Arissa.
Nickname: Ari. Got that? A-R-I, ARI! That's what I go by, and nothing else.
Gender: What do you think? Well let me give you a hint, I'm definitely, not a male.
Age: I just recently turned 17.
District: My district is 11, Agriculture.
Weapon(s)/Training: Even though all the tributes that are trained and want to be in the Hunger Games come from other districts, I have been trained. The reason for that being because when my father was 13, his 15-year-old brother died in the Hunger Games and didn't want it to happen to any of his children, so he trained me and my brother Niko in secret. I'm okay at archery (not an expert) but my strength is in swordplay. That's what my weapon is: swords. I'm also fairly good with knives and daggers. I also know some hand-to-hand combat and I can hold my own in a fight. Got it memorized? Good.
Personality: I really don't know how to describe myself, but here goes: I don't take no for an answer. I'm very stubborn and persistant; I never back down. I can be patient but can't take insults. I get angered very easily but I've learned how to control my temper, but sometimes it still gets the better of me. I'm very assertive and stand up for myself and those I care about. I love to have fun and 'hang out', but when I'm fighting or out hunting, I get very serious.
Appearance: My is a dark brown color that looks almost black. I have natural auburn-ish brown highlights that I think I get from the sun. My eyes are a dark, chocolate brown. My skin is naturally light, but sometimes it gets tan from spending so much time out in the sun. I stand around 5'7" tall and some people would describe me as tall and slender. I have muscles from all the training I've done in my life and I'd say I'm about average strength. I'm slightly quicker than average and I have a lot of upper body strength.
Family: I have an older brother named Niko (He's currently 20 years old). Even though he doesn't live with my mother and I anymore, he still sees us almost everyday. My father died five years ago, but my mother is still alive and well.
Likes: Basically? I like nature, all types of weather, the day and the night, the brave, hunting, getting away from all the chaos, etc.
Dislikes: What don't I like? The Hunger Games, the Capitol, the Gamemakers, willing and trained tributes, people who don't stand up for themselves, etc.
Weaknesses/Fatal Flaw: Even though I can control my temper (usually) sometimes it just gets out of hand and I act on impulse.
Other: I think the Capitol is unfair and the Gamemakers have sick minds. How they can get joy from watching human beings kill each other is beyond me.

The Past

My childhood was like any others in District 11. When I was 7 years old, 10 years ago, my father began to teach me how to take care of myself and stay alive. He had already been teaching my brother for a few years. He began teaching me hand-to-hand combat and later on moved onto more difficult things. I learned how to weild a blade and use a bow and arrow. I gained a lot of strength and knowledge. I could flip a man onto his back in mere seconds. The reason for all this training was because of what had happened to my father's brother. When his brother was 15, he got picked to be in the Hunger Games (lucky him). He, of course, didn't have any training and in two days he was out. So my father decided to train himself, so that in case he was ever entered it wouldn't happen to him; he, of course, was never entered. My father didn't want that to happen to me or my brother either, so he began to train us, teaching us everything he knew. So, for 5 years he trained me, and I got five years of important knowledge. Then, one day, he was just suddenly gone. No one knew where he went; not me, not my brother, not his friends, not even our mother. The story was that he died, killed himself, but no one knows for sure. Things became harder after that. But I continued practicing my skills on my own, always preparing myself just in case I would be chosen, though I doubted I would. Soon my brother was out of being chosen for the games, and I only had a few years left. I just hoped, no I prayed, that I wouldn't get chosen, that I wouldn't have to be a part of that horrid event.
