During this past summer, our attention was turned to a budding friendship turned into a secret relationship between Joe Jonas and country star, Taylor Swift. She was seen everywhere with the brothers from the taping of their upcoming 3D movie to being in the background of some of their own videos. Even Joe attended a couple of her shows!

They kept the relationship a secret very well, but when it came time for the breakup… Taylor was all over the mud-slinging part of the raging storm that consisted of lies, the one time mockery, and the rumors.

November 4, 2008:
- Taylor posts a new video on her site. At the 4:20 mark, Swift holds up a Joe Jonas doll and says, See, this one even comes with a phone. So he can break up with other dolls. A few scenes later, she holds up a Taylor Swift doll and says, Stay away from him, ok?
- Taylor also goes on Ryan Seacrest show and talks about the 27 second phone call that led to the breakup… and that she went to the recording studio a few days after the breakup to record Forever and Always

November 11, 2008:
- Taylor on Ellen: I'm not even going to remember the boy who broke up with me over the phone in 25 seconds when I was 18. (her worst mistake…)
- Taylor's new album releases and Forever and Always is included… Secret message in the lyrics is: If you play these games, we're both going to lose

November 12, 2008:
- There is confirmation on Joe and Camilla Belle dating… and Taylor puts the blame on Joe meeting Camilla for being the reason for the break up.

November 13, 2008:
- Joe posts a blog on the official site from his point of view on the issue:

To Our Fans from Joe:

This blog is not an attack of anyone. Anytime you are in a relationship for any length of time there are going to be issues. Sometimes they resolve. Other times they lead to a change of heart. This was the case recently.

Several things I will state with all my heart…

I never cheated on a girlfriend. It might make someone feel better to assume or imply I have been unfaithful but it is simply not true. Maybe there were reasons for a breakup. Maybe the heart moved on. Perhaps feelings changed. I am truly saddened that anything would potentially cause you to think less of me.

For those who have expressed concern over the "27 second" phone call. I called to discuss feelings with the other person. Those feelings were obviously not well received. I did not end the conversation. Someone else did. Phone calls can only last as long as the person on the other end of the line is willing to talk. A phone call can be pretty short when someone else ends the call. The only difference in this conversation was that I shared something the other person did not want to hear.

There were later attempts at communication that had no response.

I wish the best for the other person but could not sit back any longer and leave our fans with a wrong impression of the truth.

You guys don't need to go with my opinion, but I feel as if I need to say this. I believed in Joe the whole time during this whole thing (after meeting him last year for only a few moments, those moments made the impression that he is not that type of guy Taylor made him to look like) and I will keep believing in him. I am very proud of him for standing up to Taylor and her damaging words to give the fans the truth of what really went on.
