The Beginning

Hi, guest. My name is Wintarwood, but you can call me Wintar for short...that's what my mom calls me. I guess since you are here you are wanting to learn more about us Cybunnies. I'm letting mom use my page so she has a place to let everyone know about my species and to show how much she loves us all. I have lots of Cybunny brothers and sisters...14 in all. My mommy also likes to go to the pound and find some of the unloved pets there. She takes them to see the lab scientist. I've been there before myself. A really nice lady named Tracey used to take me. That's how I became Chocolate. Mom adopted me from Tracey on May 9th, 2008. As I was saying, mom likes to take some of the pets she finds in the pound to the lab scientist. They go back every single day until they turn into a really nice color. Then she tries to find a nice new owner for them. Soon after mom adopted me she began working on my page. Well, I'll let mom start telling you about us bunnies now that have introduced myself. I hope you enjoy your visit here.

As Wintar pointed out, Wikibunny began it's existance on May 9, 2008. Originally it was going to be just a small tribute to my favorite neopet species...the Cybunny. Then it grew to express my love (or maybe obessession) of Cybunnies. It has grown immensly since the beginning as you can see. There has been many hours and days going into the making of this page. I had looked through hundreds and thousands of pages to display everything here for you. I hope through this page I can express my love of Cybunnies and to possibly get others to appreciate them also. I plan on displaying and/or linking to all things Cybunny-related for you to enjoy. If you come across anything that relates to Cybunnies that isn't already here, please neomail me with the information.

As I said above, it took a lot of time to research and gather the information that you see displayed here. I have spent hours looking into all of the old archives for the Art Gallery, Poetry Gallery, Neopian Times, New Features, and so much more. Please do not copy or take all of my hard work and claim it as your own. With that out of the way now let the bunny march begin.=)

What are Cybunnies?

The Cybunny is a limited edition species found on Neopets...which means they are very rare. They look much like rabbits, but have a mane or collar of fur around their necks. They have thick white fur to allow them to live in the colder regions of Neopia such as Terror Mountain. Here they can easily camouflage themselves since their white fur matches the snow. This allows them to play in their wintery home without worry of predators seeing them. If one does happen to see them, then you can easily see that the swiftness of the Cybunny allows them to get away from anything.

Cybunnies got their start on July 10, 2000. At that time few of the Cybunnies were able to be created. Currently they are ranked 46th in overall species numbers with a total of about 500,000 Cybunnies that have been created in Neopia. They are usually released in small batches throughout the day on Cybunny day, which is on April 27th. There are quite a bit more out there through labbing and morphing, but they are still very hard to come by. Currently there are 47 different colors of Cybunnies. When creating a Cybunny you can choose between one of the basic colors; blue, green, red, yellow. Each of them have the same white fur and only the mane of the Cybunny changed in color. When painting them one of the many other colors available the white fur is replaced by a matching fur color in most cases. For example, the Fire Cybunny has a black coat, and flaming colors on the tail, mane, and ear tips.

How can I get a Cybunny?

So you want a Cybunny of your very own? Since Cybunnies are limited edition in Neopia, it isn't as simple as going to the Create-A-Pet and creating one of your own. Don't worry though there are several ways you can get your very own Cybunny. Just read below and you can find out:

Create A Cybunny
The most simplist and most cost effective way to get a Cybunny is to create one. Sounds simple, right? Wrong. Since Cybunnies are a limited edition species TNT only releases them in small batches one day per year. What day you ask? Cybunny day of course. April 27th is the Cybunny Carnival. This is the only day in which Cybunnies are released. Every hour or so a small batch of Cybunnies get released. During this time you will have the option of creating a Cybunny on the Create-A-Pet page. The batches can go fast, so it would be best to have some unused names picked out beforehand. The downside to this method is that it can sometimes be a very long wait until April.

In The Pound
This method isn't the most time effective way to get a Cybunny. You could refresh for hours and never see a single Cybunny in the pound. Again, this is because they are a limited edition species and are harder to come by than many of the pets you see in the pound. If someone does happen to put a Cybunny into the pound, you will have to be quick in order to grab him/her before someone else does.

The Lab Ray
It is possible to get a Cybunny through the lab ray. In order to have access to the lab ray you will have to collect and put together then all nine pieces of the Secret Laboratory Map. You will then have access to the lab so that you can start zapping your pet with it. It could take anywhere from 1 zap to 1000 zaps or more to get a Cybunny. The lab ray is completely random and can change your pet's species, color, stats, or do nothing at all. The prices of the map fluctuate depending on the supply and demand of them. Luckily there is someone that checks and updates those prices and lists them on a petpage for others to see. Eat a Kaleideonegg
A Kaleideonegg works the same as a trip to the lab. The only difference is that it is only a single use where as gaining access to the lab allows you to lab once each and every day forever. So this is not a very cost effective way of getting your own Cybunny.

Using Mysterious Swirly Potion
The Mysterious Swirly Potion will change your pet to a random limited edition species while keeping the same color when possible. For example, if you have a Biscuit Ruki and use the potion on them, then your pet could turn into a Biscuit Chomby, Biscuit Kiko, or even a Blue Cybunny since the Cybunnies are not available in Biscuit.

Adopt A Cybunny
If none of the above ways are for you, there are still a few other ways. You could try to adopt a Cybunny of your own from another user. Sometimes those that happen to get a Cybunny through the lab or from creating one on Cybunny Day will place them up for adoption. This method of getting a Cybunny is a bit more plausable than those mentioned above, but it is still not a guarantee. The problem with this method is that your account must be at least 4 months old in order to adopt a limited edition species such as a Cybunny. If you decide to try getting a Cybunny this way, then you can start by checking out Cieque's Directory Of Adoption Agencies. There you will find a large list of adoption agencies with many pets up for adoption. Some of those agencies may have Cybunnies listed up for adoption. You could try to apply for one of the pets to see if you are a potential owner.

Magical Cybunny Plushies
None of the other methods are working and your tired of waiting? Well, there is another way that is guaranteed to work. If you have your pet play with a Magical Cybunny Plushie then your pet will turn into a Cybunny of the same color. For example, if your pet plays with a Magical Green Cybunny Plushie, then s/he will turn into a Green Cybunny. The Magical Plushies come in Green, Blue, Red, Yellow, and Rainbow. Once your pet plays with the plushie it will then turn into just a plain plushie of the same type. The down side to this method is it can be very expensive, but with a bit of saving you can save up enough to do this. You can go to this guide if you'd like to see the price estimates of this or the next method of getting your own Cybunny.

Cybunny Transmogrification and Morphing Potions
Another guranteed way to get your very own Cybunny is by using a Cybunny Transmogrification or Morphing Potion on your pet. The Cybunny Transmogrification Potion will turn your pet into a Mutant Cybunny while the Morphing Potions will turn your pet into the color of the Cybunny Morphing Potion you use. The morphing potions come in Blue, Red, Plushie, Yellow, Christmas, Cloud, Island, and Rainbow. If you have you pet drink the potion then s/he will turn into that color. For example, if you give your pet a Plushie Cybunny Morphing Potion, then your pet will turn into a Plushie Cybunny.

Painting Your Cybunny

Now that you have your Cybunny, it is time to choose a color for him or her. Cybunnies come in 47 different colors including the basic Blue, Red, Green, and Yellow. Those are adorable just as they are, but you may decide that you would like a different look for your pet since there are so many to choose from. Of the 47 different colors of Cybunnies, there are a few that you cannot get by using a paint brush. These include Chocolate, Jelly, Robot, and Snot. These colors are only available from the Secret Laboratory or at the Rainbow Fountain. There is a small exception to this where the Robot Cybunny is concerned. If you participated in the Sloth Plot in the beginning of 2008, there was a prize that you could purchase with your plot points called One-Use Robotification Zappermajig. This item is able to be used once to turn your pet Robot. This item is not able to be traded or sold so only if you participated in the plot and earned enough points to purchase this item are you able to acquire the One-Use Robotification Zappermajig. Cybunnies In The News

Cybunnies were officially released July 10, 2000. This was about 9 months after Neopets began. Since then Cybunnies have through two separate redraws. The first being released on June 26, 2003 and the other on April 27, 2007 when the entire Neopets site was updated and the Pet Customization began. Between the beginning and now there has been many News Features announcing new Cybunny colors, battle equipment, furniture, and much, much more. Below you will find all of the Cybunny-related News Features announcement.

July 10, 2000 - The Cybunny made it's debut onto neopets. The original ones looked like this:

October 4, 2000 - 20,000 more Cybunnies were released. This makes the total Cybunnies to 50,000.
October 9th, 2000 - The How To Draw files for Cybunnies was announced today.
October 18th, 2000 - Back by popular demand, the Cybunny How To Draw.
December 7, 2000 - Cybunnies are now available in Christmas.
December 12, 2000 - 20,000 more Cybunnies have been released.
January 16, 2001 - Cybunny Plush Toys started selling in the Toy Shop.

January 25, 2001 - The special ability, Cybunny Hop, was add to the Battledome.
February 20, 2001 - The new animation for Cybunnies was released.
March 9, 2001 - The level 10 special ability Cybunny Bump was added to the Battledome.

Neopedia

The Neopedia is an area of Neopets where you can find information about some of the people, places, and events that take place in Neopia. Currently there are four articles pertaining to Cybunnies. You can read about them below.

Cybunny Beauty Contest
The Cybunny Beauty Contest is a story about Karina, a Blue Cybunny, entering a beauty contest. A Fire and Faerie Cybunny were very angry that a common colored Cybunny would eben think about entering a beauty contest against them. The judges thought differently and Karina won the contest. The Fire and Faerie Cybunnies decided to try to get her back by pushing her into a mud puddle. They were suprised to see that instead of the crowd laughing at Karina for being all muddy, they were extremely angry with the Fire and Faerie Cybunnies. The crowd turned on them and slung mudballs at the, The Fire and Faerie Cybunnies ran away from the crowd at the fairgrounds completely mortified.

The Cybunny Carnival
The Cybunny Carnival is a time that Cybunnies look forward to each and every year. It gives them a chance to stuff themselves with all the great carroty treats. There is more to the Carnival that though though. There are also several comptetions to enjoy also. These includes the Best, Worst and Just Okay Fur Competition, Hop Till You Drop Hop-A-Thon, The Cybunny Smiley Parade, and the ultra popular Stare-At-A-Cybunny-If-You-DARE contest. The competitions are open to colros and species of all kinds, but a word of warning, be very careful if challenging a Cybunny to the staring contest because there hasn't ever been a pet other than a Cybunny to win that contest.

Golden Carrot
The secret of the golden carrot it just that...a secret. Very few neopians knows where this golden carrot grows. Each year during the Cybunny Carnival large amounts of them are harvested for the celebration. This carroty treat is extremely healthy for your Cybunny whether they eat it or wear it. The natural oils of the carrot when applied to the skin reinvigorates your furry friend. The vitamins and nutrients ingested when eating the carrot is great for your Cybunny's skin, fur, and wings.

Cylara
Cylara is one of the most famous of Cybunnies. She had been separated from her family during the invasion of the Virtupets Space Stations by Dr. Sloth. She ended up meeting up with Gorix, a member of the resistance. Cylara and Gorix begin their search for her family and the Cybunny scout that Gorix was originally looking for. During this time Dr. Sloth continues to try to invade Virtupets. Cylara and Gorix team up to defeat Dr. Sloth. Cylara uses Space Faerie's amulet to trap him within it. In the end Cylara meets back up with her family, the Cybunny Scout meets up with Gorix, and Cylara gains full membership into the Resistance for helping save them all.

Magax
Magax floats above a graveyard when he comes across Cheelee the Blue Cybunny. She told Magax that she came to the Carnival on a dare and has became lost. Magax plans to help her on her way before Hubrid Nox shows up. Cheelee the Blue Cybunny then turned into Hubrid Nox himself and throws Magax into a gravestone.

Cybunny Games

The Games Room hastons of games for you to play to earn neopoints. The following are the games that involve Cybunnies in some way.

	Gourmet Club Bowls In this games you match your skills against your opponent to try to get your bowls as close to the jack (the white ball) as possible. You can even try to knock your opponents bowls away from the jack, just as they can do to yours. You score points based upon where your and your opponets bowls are at the end of the round. The first one to 7 points wins the match and moves onto the next round. You can even win a spiffy Cybunny Trophy if you make it into the high score list.
	Moon Rock Rampage In this game you can play as Gorix or Cylara, but really that isn't a hard decision. Who would want to play as a Grundo anyway when you can play as a Cybunny? So you need to help Cylara gather up the pieces of the escape ship that Gorix crashed. I guess they forgot to check to see if he had a ship drivers license. Push rocks, fire your laser, and do anything else you need to so that you can gather up the ship pieces while staying away from the aliens on the moon. If you score high enough you can get a shiny trophy featuring Gorix and Cylara.
	Usuki Frenzy Luci was just about to leave for vacation when she realize she forgot her Usuki dolls sets. She has to rush around to collect all her favorites before her time is up and her parents make her leave them. If you make it to the high scores then you can get your very own usul trophy. It's not as spiffy as the Cybunny trophy.
	MAGAX: Destroyer II In this game MAGAX is set against Hubrid Nox. During his mission he takes down so many Cybunnies. What did those Cybunnies ever do to him? They were under mind control and couldn't help it. That doesn't mean MAGAX should destroy them all.=( If you shoot enough innocent Cybunnies and defeat Hubrid Nox then you can get a trophy, but really, why would you want a trophy that looks like Medusa's skull?

Customization Spotlight

On April 27, 2008, the Neopets site along with many of the pets got a complete new makeover. This makeover allowed everyone to be able to dress their pets up with clothing, backgrounds, and accessories. Every Monday a new spotlight begins. Neopian Times

The Neopian Times (NT for short) is Neopets very own weekly online newspaper. Each new edition comes out every Friday (sometimes earlier depending on holidays) and is announced in the news. It contains Short Stories, Articles, Comics, Mini Series, and Editorial that are all submitted by Neopians. Anyone may submit a piece to the Neopian Times and the best ones each week will be published for all to see.

Do you want to know about some of the most notable Cybunnies in Neopets' history? All you need to do is read below. All of the Notable Cybunnies are listed here for you to get to know.

Cylara	Cylara introduced to us during The Return Of Dr. Sloth plots. She and Gorix were able to stop the threat of Dr. Sloth and trap him in the amulet of the Space Faerie. She is featured in the game Moon Rock Rampage and has her very own Neopedia and How To Draw article. She is also featured on a TCG in the First Edition.
Karina	Karina is a Blue Cybunny that entered the Best Fur competition during the Cybunny Festival. She was pushed into a mud puddle by a Fire and Faerie Cybunny that were mad about her winning the competition. The crowd turned on the Fire and Faerie Cybunny and started throwing mud at them. They ran away while Karina laughed at the sight they made.
Lucie	Luci is featured in the game Usuki Frenzy in which is races around trying to collect her favorite Usuki doll sets. She is also the owner of the Plushie Palace, the best place to pick up your favorite plushie. She is featured in two TCGs. One being the Hannah and the Ice Caves edition and the other in the Darkest Faerie edition.
Princess Lunara	Princess Lunara is the daughter of the Shenkuu Emperor. She was really sad and lonely, which cause her to pretend to be kidnapped. So now she stars in her very own game The Search For Princess Lunara.
Sasha	Sasha, the Dancer, is one of the twelve protectors of Altador. She was chosen as a protector by King Altador himself for creating hope and inspiration to the hearts of those in her village. The contellation that represents her is featured on a TCG in the Darkest Faerie edition. You can also catch her dancing on a Haunted Woods edition TCG.
Scout	Scout played a part in The Return of Dr. Sloth plot. She is a member of the resistence and carried important information that Gorix needed to help defeat Dr. Sloth.
Cybunny Rogue	The Cybunny Rouge is features on a TCG in the Hannah and the Ice Caves edition.
Keetra Deile	Keetra is the captain of the Virtupets Yooyuball team. She played in the Right Forward position for the 2006-2008 Altador Cup. Her strengths are scoring, speed, and experience. Her weakness is her toughness.
Lost Desert Scratchcard Kiosk Owner	This Desert Cybunny runs the Scratchcard Kiosk in the Lost Desert. Here you can try your luck by buying a scratchcard and scratching off sex squares to see if you've won.
Spooky Petpets Shopkeeper	This Halloween Cybunny runs the Spooky Petpets shop in the Haunted Woods. Here you can buy your pet a spooky petpet of their very own.
Royal Potionery Shopkeeper	This Blue Cybunny runs the Royal Potionery shop in Brightvale. Here you can find a large range of potions.
Lost Desert Medicine Shopkeeper	This Yellow Cybunny runs the Emergency Supplies shop in Sakhmet. She was also featured in the Hannah and The Ice Caves plot.
Pirate Champion	The Pirate Champion was a member of the third round of opponents for the Maraquan warriors during the Curse of Maraqua plot.
Cheelee	Cheelee is the name of the Blue Cybunny that Magax ran into in the Haunted Woods. As he was rescuing her, she turned into Hubrid Nox himself.
Erick	Erick can be found in the Neoquet I game. He is located in the Temple of Roo. He is also featured on a collectable card.
Undead Cybunny	The Undead Cybunnies can be found as your enemies in the Neoquest I game. They are also featured on a collectable card.
Amoti	Amoti can be found in the Neoquest II game. She lives in Waset with her parents and sister, Lifira.
Borhal	Borhal can be found in the Neoquest II game. He is a cook in the Inn on Terror Moutain. He makes potions in his spare time.
Zixo	Zixo can be found in the Neoquest II game. He lives in Lakeside and often argues with Siddande about the city of Phorofor.
Withered Ghost	Withered Ghost can be found in the Neoquest II game. This creature once lived in Phorofor. Since the city became lost, the ghost serves as a guard only allowing those that know the password through.

Cybunnies are available in 47 different colors. You can see what each of them look like below. The pictures with the black background are colors that are not actually released or even drawn at this point. They are only my own creation of what I think they will look like (or at least the best I can do with my limited artistic skills).

Unconverted Cybunny Colors

As previously mentioned, in April 2007 Neopets redrew just about all of the pets to allow for customization of them. In some cases where the redraw was a bit extreme TNT gave the current owners the option to convert or not. There were a total of four colors of Cybunnies that had this option, they were Darigan, Grey, Plushie, and Royal. You can see their images below. There is no way to create the following pets anything longer. If you paint your Cybunny Plushie, you will get the Plushie Cybunny shown above. Only the pets which were already created and painted these colors were given the conversion option.

How did you get so many Cybunnies?
I got them in many different ways. Some were pound finds, some adopted, some created on Cybunny Day, some labbed, and others from morphing and painting myself. To see the story about how I got each pet and all about them you can check out the My Cybunny Family page.
