You smack yourself upside the head- you took a wrong turn! You weren't supposed to go further north, you should have gone east there then taken the cobblestone path. Now you weren't standing in front of Neovia, you were standing in front of a rickety signpost that had an arrow pointing back from whence you came that said Neovia on it.

And then there was an arrow pointing to what seemed to be a small town in the distance. Shieldgarde.
