MYTHBREAKERS
solving the myths of neopia

Ever wonder about that creepy little JellyWorld? Could it really exist? What about Sloth and his taste in pop music? As if the title hasn't said enough already, we're here to break the myths of neopia. Whether they be plausible, broken, confirmed, or unsolved, it's up to the crafty ways of Tomm and his crew to track down the answers.
And please, feel free to send in any neomails with questions, comments, myths, or answers to Tomm, the wonderful person behind this brainchild.

The Team;;
Tomm ~ "Adam Savage" [tommadness2220]
Johnny ~ "Jamie Hyneman" [fluffyintestine]
Angels ~ "Kari Byron" [darksidion]
Buster"

Myths, kids..

One
JellyWorld exists!
Broken.. *shifty eyes* JellyWorld is physically impossible. I mean, a city made of jelly would melt in Summer, and shatter in Winter.. *shifty eyes*

Two
The more people refreshing at the Rubbish Dump will make more items appear.
Broken. There is a whole petpage on the Rubbish Dump HERE(no link yet. Can't find it..).

Three
Coltzen's shrine really gives out one million at a certain time of day.
HalfConfirmed. Quote from Editorial#33: "it is possible that you can get 1 million from the shrine, but it doesn't matter what time of day it is."

Four
Sloth loves to dance for pop music.
Plausible. We haven't been able to infiltrate the space station yet, but we're working on it!

Five
Donating to the Money Tree increases random events.
Broken. Quote from Editorial#241: "Random events are just that... random. :) The ONLY way your chances of receiving Random Events is increased is when you're using the Birthday sidebar theme, and that's only available on your or Neopets' birthday.

Six
If you have a ghost pet or a Halloween Yurble, the Tax Beast will not come.
Unsolved

Seven
If you feed your jubjub or kiko a LOT of garlic items they will turn garlic coloured.
Confirmed. Though, it will take 300+.

Eight
If you feed your skeith a big item such as a stone bed, that it will stay bloated for longer than normal.
Unsolved

Nine
Chainletters work.
That's broken into a million tiny pieces! Chainletters are a SCAM and will only get you FROZEN!

Ten
You can't get into the mining area on Kreludor. ~krazychick941
Unsolved

Eleven
Someone really DID win the Test Your Strength Jackpot.
Confirmed. Quote Editorial 214: "Probable? No. Possible? Yes. It was won once before. However, I wouldn't hold my breath waiting to win, I don't think Arnold likes to share his Neopoints. ;)

Twelve
Will Jelly cause your pet to become that colour?
Inconclusive. There are a few reports of glowing jelly working, but only a few.

Thirteen
Infinate Bag of Neggs will give you neggs when placed in your SDB.
Broken. Infinite Bag of Neggs is a Battledome Weapon, and does nothing but attack.

Fourteen
You can put items into a gift box.
Broken. They are useless gift items.

Fifteen
Labbed petpet krawks will get you a real krawk.
Half-Broken. Back when the Petpet lab was released, you could, but TNT have fixed that.

Sixteen
Strength of your pet doesn't matter in Test Your Strength.
Confirmed. As stated in Editorial #113, "There is a certain element of randomness in the test your strength game." Later explained that sometimes your strongest pet will not always get a higher score than an average pet.

Seventeen
Meepits rule TNT.
Broken. Buster reports: "TNT is not ruled by Meepits, Adam, OR corn. It's the asparagus that controls them all.

Eighteen
If you have an invisible pet, the Snowager won't catch it.
Broken. I've tested this back when I had an invisible pet last year. He was caught normally.

Nineteen
When you discard an item, it is recylced and given to someone in a Random Event.
Broken. Quote Editorial 259: "Poof! Gone. Never to be seen again. They aren't recycled, they are simply deleted, lost to the great abyss for all eternity. *sniffle* Also, despite rumour, Smuggler's Cove items will not reappear in the cove if they are discarded.

How to Break a Myth

With all the myths in neopia, MythBreakers will need all the help I can get. Here are a few methods we've managed to come up with:

-Ask around.
Try the neoboards. Namely the Help board. You could either ask around for myths anyone's heard, and try to solve them yourself. Or you could even keep the board going to try to get them answered.

-Surf the Site.
You never know what you might come up with when surfing the site. There could be old updates in the new features, or you mgiht even stumble upon a secret page we've been looking for. ;D

-Check the Editorial.
This is our saviour. Send in questions; recieve answers. Maybe the question's already been answered. You could try looking it up through sunnyneo.com's NeopianTimesEditorial search engine. You could even search back through earlier issues to find myths with answers we hadn't even thought of.

-Research and Test.
Got a lot of time on your hands? Why not test out a myth? Feed your pet three-hundred garlic-named items. Eventually, though rare, it might turn color. Of course, that's only one example we've proven, but there are many more on the page.
