You are on a walk through a small village, just to get away. You breathe in the fresh, autumn air and take in the scenery, the gentle sun giving a soft, orange gleam over the old cottages littering the streets, illuminating the sleepy roadway. A nearby street lamp flickers, catching your eye and you notice a small figure curled underneath it. You come a little closer and see that the figure is a scrawny looking xweetok. She lazily opens one eye, then the other and gives you a small, sweet smile.

Oh! Hello. Isn't the sunset beautiful this evening?

Name: v_purr_v
Alias: Pearl
Age: 52013 hours
Gender: female
Species: xweetok
Type: faerie
Build: small, delicate
Eyes: hazel brown
Mistress: khalivea
Theme song: Feel Like A Spark by Rubik

Personality: Pearl is a carefree xweetok with little to worry her. She doesn't mind not having the basics others would find it hard to survive without, like a home and close friends to rely on. She is a traveller, especially drawn to small, quiet settlements, moving to her next destination only when she feels like it which can be quite often. She does not appreciate rules and limitations and looks at each situation with a fresh approach. She is a very gentle character and would always flee rather than fight. Though Pearl is open to meeting new people on her travels, she is also very withdrawn when it comes to being around general people and will often journey at night when her surroundings are quiet. When around others she is very polite and well-mannered. As exciting as a life of a traveller sounds, Pearl takes things at her own pace. She is very calm and collected and usually won't let a turn of events affect her, she has no real concerns.

Looking closely, you can see that Pearl has a tatty appearance and frail, translucent wings and her fur is made up of muted colours. This is not an ordinary faerie xweetok - most would've thought that they had well kept, bright fur and wings!

How did I end up here? Well, there is a little story...

This is an INCOMPLETE DRAFT because Becca ran out of time. D:
It all started when I was born into the Purewing clan. I was born the runt of the litter and I remember how the elders were disappointed with my mother who gave only two young and one small, fragile, and colourless baby. You see, our clan lives up to its name - a small group of purely bred faeries - and was looked upon with respect. There had never been a hiccup like me before.

Growing up I could tell that my mother was a little ashamed of me and I was guilty for all the trouble I had caused her, but she tried to raise me like a normal child. It was difficult... I never had much energy like the rest and my wings were frail and couldn't carry me for very long. I didn't mind though, I was quite shy and would play by myself in the darkest part of the woods. Those were lonely days, or at least, I tried to make them. None of the others would notice if I slipped away... besides, I found more comfort in myself than anyone else.

One day, things changed. My sister had flown a little too far that morning and had to rest somewhere outside the woods which was our home which we usually keep to, but she still hadn't returned. For days we searched. We waited... but she couldn't be found. A rule was made that day for each of us to follow no matter what:

Do not leave the shelter of the woods.

I was upset and worried of course, but being around the others and experiencing their sorrow made me feel even more rotten, so I found myself going off alone again for longer periods of time. I always preferred it that way. No-one noticed, I was only the runt and they were more occupied with the recent crisis. I felt even more alone, but deep down I could only blame that on myself. Even when my sister was around I often blocked her out... I always wanted to be away from everyone and in those days, I wanted to more than ever.

A month passed and it was decided that everyone should accept that she was never coming back. I wondered... did something bad happen to her or did she find a better place? I thought hard and went with the latter. My sister was certainly intelligent enough to know when there was danger and she was always so sensible... there was no way anything harmful could have happened to her.

So that's when I made my mind up, I had to leave too. I felt so out of place in the clan as it was and I needed to find my sister. I was eager to see where she had gone and to see her safe and well. I sent love to my mother and, without warning, I left that night. They couldn't look for me because of the rule but I knew they were scared, two unexplained disappearances must have been frightening.

Life became much more interesting when I left. I saw new things, I met new people and there were no rules, no boundaries! But sometimes it's the small things in life that matter. The night I left, I grew more and more tired as I traveled, until I saw a light... and it changed me. I was drawn to it, as if I was in a trance. Though my wings were weak, I found myself floating up towards a beautifully made streetlamp, its soft, yellow light spilling over my body, dancing in my eyes. A warmth washed over me, and I felt safe, relaxed, light, even energized... as if I had let go of everything behind me.

That was it, that moment that should have been so insignificant... it made me realize that I had to let go of my past, of being shamed, of being the lesser one. My escape also meant escaping my identity, and besides, who was going to believe I was a Purewing xweetok if I told them? From then on I was my own person. Free.
Now whenever I see a lamp, I can't resist stopping for a while; they're just so inviting! I still haven't found my sister, but I'm sure she's safe and happy. I travel around looking for her but it's more of a leisurely done task. I've been staying near this village for a while now... they have pretty street lamps here, don't you agree?
You were wondering about my clan? Well, I'm not really part of it now, but...

Here's a little history for you.
There was a time when xweetok were only ever dull, brown colours. They were humble creatures that hid themselves deep in the woods, camouflaged against the muddy ground. They were very common beings, compared to squirrels and other small woodland animals, only they were far more complex and intelligent, but not many knew that. Not until they came. Legend has it that three xweetok - one blue, one red, one yellow and all bright and dazzling as the sun descended from the skies right into the forest our clan is based upon. They were the first faeries of our entire species - but not only that, they had entirely different personality traits that are now common to our kind. Time passed and the plain, brown, wingless xweetok were becoming more and more unheard of - our race was evolving. There were all different kinds of us in mixes of dull and bright colours, some with wings some without. The faeries that played such a key part in our evolution were mostly forgotten, all except for one family. They did not mix with the dull coloured type, and were well-respected for this. Not because it was any better, but because of preservation. It is this family that I was born into, many generations down the line. I was the first to ever appear dull-coloured, so you can imagine the shock of the clan members and the respect my mother lost. Was I truly ever born into this clan? Maybe I'll never know...

How about some traits?

The easiest way to tell a Purewing from an ordinary xweetok is, you guessed it, the wings! They should be large and bright with 'tails', and can have many different patterns and markings. They are showy, but also serve their purpose well. Purewings can stay in the air for as long as half an hour before needing to rest. Considering how delicate their wings are, this is quite remarkable.

The next thing you should notice is a glossy, bright coat that shimmers in the light, almost like silk. They are proud creatures and will do whatever they can to keep their fur looking its best. Cleanliness is very important by nature to a Purewing.

Purewings are always slender, with dainty paws. This makes them very agile both on foot and wing. They are fastest on foot and when moving at full speed, they can almost seem to be a blur. This allows an easy escape if they ever land themselves into trouble. A Purewing will rarely stand and fight.

A scrawny faellie scurries down a nearby climbing plant and sits by Pearl's feet, pink eyes glistening.

Oh, hello friend! This is Moraea, my faellie.

Moraea narrows her eyes a little and lets out a quiet squeal that sounds almost like a hmph!

Oh, well she's not exactly mine... we just happen to travel together a lot. Sometimes we go our own ways, but we're never apart for more than a week or so. Don't worry, she can take care of herself!

More info soon.
Encounters Pearl has had with others, or more commonly known as roleplay. ;) Speech is in bold.

Zaraekie/Pearl roleplay:
He sighed, violet eyes watching the red hues of the sun as it sank down beneath the horizon. Street lights flickered on as household candles were lit, illuminating the windows as the sun's dying rays cast black shadows through the dark alleyways. His large ears twitched slightly at a soft rustle in one of the trashcans, probably a Yullie of some sort, as his lips twitched in a small grin upon spying the first stars appearing in the slowly darkening sky. The streetlight above him finally flickered on, its warm yellow glow shining on his purple pelt while reflecting off of his dark shades. He gave another sigh, this time with satisfaction, as he lazily watched the stars, naming off the constellations while the last final rays disappeared.

Pearl's eyes flickered with the streetlights. She had been traveling for days and this town seemed like a perfect place to rest. She let out a yawn and scurried through the empty street to a lamp that looked particularly inviting. Basking in the soft, warm light, she gazed at its intricate design, delicate swirls of silver winding up to the bulb - but not for long. An unfamiliar yet seemingly inviting figure could be seen gazing into the night sky, muttering to himself a few lamps down. She carefully approached the stranger and sat up next to him curiously.
Hello... What are you looking at? she asked.

He jumped slightly, not expecting anyone to still be out at this time of the evening. Sure it wasn't too late yet, but most Neovians would already be tidying up for their nightly rest. Violet eyes settled on the other unknown figure, tilting his head slightly at this newcomer. She didn't seem hostile to him, so he relaxed slightly.
The stars. he replied, his eyes returning to the glimmering sea of sparkling fireflies, dimmed by the lights of the quiet town. They're beautiful tonight, even though they can't be seen too well here.He turned his head back to the other. My name is Zaraekie, but you may call me Ekie. Ekie said with a polite bow of his head. And what is your name?

The stars...
she repeated calmly. Yes, they are pretty, though I was more distracted by the lights in town. Oh, and I'm Purr, but most people call me Pearl.
She too looked up at the sky, and it was indeed a beautiful scene. The stars looked down upon the two while the street lights shone down on them, a soft glow.
The xweetok's eyes were diverted back to Zaraeikie as she wondered aloud, You know, Ekie, this place is in the middle of no-where... what brought you here? You seem pretty leisured this evening.

Pleased to meet you, Pearl.
Ekie said with a small upward quirk of his mouth. This xweetok seemed rather polite, so he settled down comfortably as his gaze began to search the still darkening skies. His eyes spotted another star that had just appeared, completing the farmer constellation.
I am a wanderer, a traveler, he replied to her question as he tracked down another constellation, the wave this time. I go from place to place, never really stopping anywhere. It's fun to explore and know more about places you've never seen before, wouldn't you agree? The acara said as he tilted his head towards the other.

Oh! That's interesting, she began. I travel too, in the hopes that I'll find my sister. Yes, exploring new places can be fascinating! Speaking of... she gestured her paw to the road they were sat by the edge of.
It's a pleasant evening for a walk especially with these streetlights, and those stars. she added with a warm smile. The xweetok stretched, spreading out her paws before standing up and gazing up at the streetlight they were under. Her eyes filled with an orange glow.
