Nibiru- a rocky planet twice the size of Earth and suddenly floating into the solar system. What could be more perfect than transferring a few individuals from dying Earth to this large planet? Absolutely nothing, of course. So, in AD 2250, the humans sent three hundred people to Nibiru in hopes of them continuing the human race there. It's been 1948 years since humans first arrived on the cold planet, and they are slowly conquering their new surroundings.

There are other beings on Nibiru besides its native animals and humans- there are the Adirans. They were and are what one might call "mythical" things here on Earth: fairies, elves, magicians. They knew of the human invasion of their planet, but they did not fight the change, as change must come at times; however, the biggest change was yet to come.

For centuries, an alien race had hovered around the giant planet, a few of its people mingling with the Adirans to learn more about them- their weaknesses, what they were like ect. They were just about to make their move whenever the humans invaded. Intrigued by this new race, they watched the planet for nearly two more millennium before launching their first attack in 1940 in the form of a diseased comet.

The majority of this comet landed harmlessly in the ocean, but a small chunk had found itself to a small island, completely obliterating it from existence- plunging the planet into an ashy darkness that would not only cause famine and death from ash inhalation, but carry a disease that aimed to kill everyone on the planet so the Exemplars could take Nibiru for their own. As the economy failed, the humans were quick to point fingers at the Adirans for causing this mess. They began to reinvent the airplane for the increased gravity of Nibiru and soon declared war on the people across the ocean, hoping their superior technology would defeat the primitive Adirans. They happened to make a big mistake there, though- the Adirans had dragons.

There seems to be no one winning this war, and scientists on the human front are working even harder to give people the abilities of the people across the sea. They had been capturing Adirans for study for years and were somewhat able to produce humans with abnormal abilities- but now they had to bring this to a mass scale. With dragons and Adirans practically raining from the sky, the scientists have taken every chance they could to try to create a population of super soldiers to help win this war.

High above, the Exemplars watch the war with amusement, occasionally helping the Adirans in their battle. Inconspicuously, of course, as their airships float high above, camouflaged as clouds.

Alliances

We do happen to have three alliances: Exemplars, Adirans, and humans. Each of them are special in their own ways, so they all happen to have their own page of their own. This is just a quick overview of what each of the things are. If you're really curious about it, you'll have to check out their pages. (:

Exemplars

The Exemplars hail from Decimus, and they are often considered the most intelligent race known in the universe. They came to Nibiru for much the same reason as Earthlings did, seeing as Decimus was running out of resources and they had to flee to continue their race.

The Exemplars, after years of collecting knowledge, had gained a secondary form meant to disguise themselves as citizens of Adira. In this form they can change the colors of their eyes, skin tones, hair, etc. However, their appearance is fused with that of an animal- giving them horns, tails, or characteristics of whatever creature they have fused into their DNA.

In their actual form, they are known for solid black eyes, pure white skin and hair, and black, demonic fumes that puff out of their mouths when they exhale. These fumes are poisonous gas that happen to be their only natural protection. Despite all the vast intelligence they have, they are not the most physically threatening. They require weapons and their poison for nearly all battles.

Since the beginning of their race, the Exemplars obey Valtiel (val-ta-el), a person chosen before they are ever born to be their ultimate leader. Valtiel's word is the word of the ancestors, making their government a complete dictatorship. To disobey the current Valtiel is to turn your back on the entire race, to make a enemy of all your friends and family.

Adirans

As this is the largest continent of Nibiru, you would expect some diversity. In the enchanting Kingdom of Adira, many mythical beings roam freely across the land, safe from the destructive nature of humans. Or at least, they were.

The inhabitants of Adira are everything you can think of, everything you wished existed in your wildest childhood dreams. Beautiful, never before experienced mythical beings live in relative harmony here, in this idyllic paradise. Of course, there are the odd instances of misfortune - a demon taking an innocent bystander as their host, or maybe a werewolf who slaughtered someone to shreds. It's the nature of the species; the laws are very lenient, and murder is extremely common.

Ruled by a single monarch, there are no governments in place. The laws are not the only thing that are primitive; there is no technology in Adira. No mobile phones, no internet, no advanced weaponry. Rather than technology, Adira runs off magic. It would be wasteful to have so many species with magical abilities, and not utilize them. It might seem like a perplexity, but the Adirans are fine without computers. Everything is a manual job - the creatures are physically strengthened by their lifestyles. Besides, who needs to walk to work when you can fly there?

It might seem like Adira would be at a disadvantage in a war situation; how could these beings possibly defend themselves against human and alien intelligence? They actually have an extensive army built - it is only natural for a kingdom to be ready to defend itself. Creatures of various species will train as warriors, learning the ways of their ancestors - leading up to the potential day, when they will soar into the sky on the back of a dragon. Adira has no planes, but they have dragons. Giant, fire-breathing beasts with the toughest scales known to any race. Only the most skilled warriors will be trusted with one.

Humans

Humans hail from Earth, naturally, and picked the second largest continent of Nibiru to live on. They have since dispersed within their country, which they dubbed Udachi (oo-dah-chee), and set up rather-local governments. They were people from the United States and Russia in the first and only flight to Nibiru, and the people have since broke into smaller 'states' within Udachi. They rule themselves, but ultimately answer to the central government in times of crisis.

Humans are just like you or I, but they have become much shorter from their time on Nibiru. How? The planet is larger than Earth, and it's gravity is about twice that of Earth's gravity. This made it difficult to move around, so the humans quickly evolved to the gravity- and still are evolving -but they still are recognizably human. Most humans don't reach heights over five and a half feet tall- and if they do they often have trouble moving around.

There are a few humans who have powers, but by a few, I really do mean a few. Every one in one-hundred people are gifted, but there are more being created every single day. Most of these people have useless powers, but sometimes they turn out to actually be useful.

The humans once had a democracy, but when the first line of Rainwaters took over the government, it quickly became an absolute monarchy. The monarchs often don't interfere with their country unless crisis is at hand- like now.

Settings

There are two major landmasses on Nibiru- Adira and Udachi. The whole planet is rather cold, but the two regions are definitely different in their own ways.

Adira

The whole of Nibiru is cold, due to how far away from the sun the planet is situated. Yet the Kingdom of Adira seems to be a little better off than Udachi. This is the reason why Udachi was left unoccupied for so long - Adira was a more desirable area to live in. Despite this, it rains very often over the kingdom. Floods are frequent, and most houses are built with this fact in mind.

Beautiful flowers, all of colours and sizes cover the landscape. Due to the absence of technology at all in Adira, there are an increased number of farms, and everyone has a lot of space around their homes. The buildings are all made of stone, as apposed to brick work. Most homes are also decorated with ivy, and a vast variety of flowers. It keeps the morale up, they say.

The streets of the city are long and winding, but pretty. That is a perfect way to describe Adira - pretty. Nature is the dominant force here; there isn't a skyscraper to be seen. The houses are all various shapes and sizes, as to accommodate the different species which inhabit the land.

Udachi

Udachi is the smallest, coldest major landmass of Nibiru. Covered in mountains, forests, and snow, this place wasn't exactly the humans' ideal place to live. Their settlements are situated atop the hills of central Udachi, sheltering themselves from the worst of the winter snows that fall into the valleys below. Generally, when it's not snowing, it's not doing anything at all. Udachi as a whole doesn't get much rain, and the rain it sees comes in extremely violent hurricanes blowing off of the ocean separating Udachi and Adira.

To the south and west are the habitable coasts of the continent, and where the hills turn into rolling plains and grasslands. The farmers live in this drier place, their Earthly animals roaming the grasslands and Earthly crops growing in mass quantities. To the east, there is a large mountain range and then a tundra and coast that only the dwarves dwelling beneath the mountains to the north know anything about. That is their farmland and where they make their living.

Aniva, the capitol city of Udachi, is a large, large city with strange, short architecture. Buildings expand underground rather than above ground- some of the city actually being built inside the hills it sits on top of. Most people who live in this urban metropolis have never left it, seeing as there is no need to leave such a comfortable place. There are other cities in Udachi, but they are generally situated on crossroads and only inhabited during the trading season, making Aniva one of the only full-time cities in Udachi.

Forests cover the majority of the land where humans settle, and keeping the tales of Earth in their minds, some humans choose to live in tree houses or eco-friendly settlements in these woods. Not many major rivers run through the country, so places to live are rather limited considering the fact that airplanes are still rather unreliable on this world and people can go a very long time without ever seeing a trader passing through.
