earning neopoints

Hello fellow Neobliss members. This is the neopoint-earning tips page. You must have come here to learn some everyday actions that will help you save neopoints! This page isn't a guide to everything you need to know, just some tips. If you have a tip to add or a section that was forgotten please do neomail your suggestion!

Banking

This may be the most important section to read! The Neopian Bank is your best friend. It holds all your money and pays you with interest! There is always that friendly skeith there to greet you, and very well dressed too!

The first thing you do everyday on neopets is collect your bank interest.

When you have a large amount of neopoints out, put deposit some in the bank unless you are going to immediately do something with it, like purchase an item or bid on a trade. You wouldn't want that evil pant devil stealing your neopoints!

If you are saving for something do not touch that bank money! If I see something irresistible in a shop and I just have to have it, I go play games until I have that money. Unless the item is very expensive, like over 20,000np.

Keep a pin number on your bank. It will ensure your precious neopoints' safety if anyone were to break into your account.

Gaming

Perhaps THIS will be the most important section you'll read. After all, games are the easiest way to earn your neopoints.

Play games every day! It doesn't matter if you are amazing at the game or if you stink. You'll still be getting the neopoints. There are easy and quick games on the guild home page.

Don't be lazy when you play games. You don't have to be so ultimately focused, but don't slack off and send a really bad score. You can do better! Do you want that pirate paint brush/lab map/really expensive avatar or not?!

Find a game that you're good at. Maybe not all our suggested games are fit for you. I said not to be lazy, but sometimes a person just is not good at a game.

Play Ad games. They're usually pretty easy and give you a lot of neopoints. However, they are very annoying. But it will help you get closer to the Top Gamer avatar if you are trying to get it!

Play a lot of Keyquest. It may take long, especially if you're not good at it, but it will earn you a ton of neopoints! Never quit a game because no matter what place you are in you will always get neopoints and an item. You may even get paint brushes from gold keys; I have a couple times. Codestones and neggs are also common prizes. Selling them is really like getting free neopoints!

Your Shop

Many neopians like to sell stuff in their shop, perhaps to get rid of junk or make some profit. Some neopians spend thousands upgrading their shop to make it bigger! Some like to sell specific things and be in a mall. Whatever you use your shop for, here are some tips to help you.

Keep your prices moderate. Doesn't have to be the cheapest on the wiz, but perhaps within 20nps of the cheapest. That way you aren't really overpricing, but you'll still make a profit.

If you are in a mall or are advertising a lot, keep your shop stocked. People will appreciate a shop that actually has items.

I wouldn't recommend having a lot of pages of items. People will get bored looking through ten pages off stuff, and might have trouble finding an item they decided to buy. Also, it's hard for you to update your prices. The only reason to have several pages is if you're in a mall.

Check your prices on the sop wizard daily, or a frequent as possible. Prices can change quickly! If you're wondering why an item has been in your shop so long, it might be because you haven't updated the price.

Buying

This section will include all forms of buying! Trades, auctions, neopian shops, and users' shops. Buying is an important thing to master because you need to know how to spend the least amount of neopoints.

Trading

Always research your item whether you are creating a lot or placing a bid. Take some time to find out the real price of the item so you get your money's worth.

Don't accept an offer if the person says "I'll give you the item in the next lot; just offer more items/neopoints and then I'll put it up!" It's a scam. If the item isn't in the lot you're bidding on, don't bid.

If you are paying in pure neopoints, give them an item that is junky. (At least one item is required when placing a bid.) You're already giving them a pure amount of neopoints, so if it's what they asked for don't throw in another codestone or negg!

When creating a lot, always put your price in your wishlist. People won't place good bids, or any bids, on the lot if you don't tell them what you want.

You shouldn't make a trade with a lot of items and say "Neomail to separate." It would be easier on everyone to make different lots with your desired price for each item.

Auctions

A common rule: know the price of what you are bidding on! You cannot withdraw an offer in auctions, and you cannot withdraw an item from auctions.

Check back on the item you're bidding on. If you don't keep bidding, you'll lose the item!

After an auction is closed and you lost, put your neopoints back in the bank for safe keeping.

Neopian Shops

Sometimes you can buy items a lot cheaper in a neopian shop. Look around in the shops in other worlds to see if you can find an item cheaper than in a user's shop.

When you're in shops in neopian worlds, make sure you use the shop wizard to see if you can buy it cheaper. Sometimes items can be cheaper in neopian shops, but they can also be overpriced too. Tombola items and fishing items will be overpriced in a neopian shop.

When you haggle with the shop keeper, always go really, really low! Try knocking off a few hundred, or even a thousand for more expensive items. A shop keeper may accept it; it's happened to me before.

User's Shops

Use the shop wizard always.

You might not want to buy from people who overprice their items and ask you to buy them to help reach a goal. They can work hard earning neopoints if they want to reach that goal, just like the members of Neopoints.
