Beaux Arts is a private guild for graphic and web designers who like to socialize and make friends, want to improve at creating graphics and CSS, and most of all, love having fun!

Our guild offers a chill, drama-free environment, fun activities, and friendly, active members.

We opened after the collapse of Neo.Graphix and aim to build upon that guild's great legacy. We also house some of the most talented designers from the AC and GC!

requirements

Being a design guild, we do require some knowledge of graphics and/or CSS. If you would like an invite, you need to meet one of the following criteria:

1; Recieve a rating of 8.5/10 or above on a graphics and CSS based lookup from a council member.

2; Recieve a rating of 9/10 or above on a CSS only lookup from a council member.

3; Recieve a rating of 7/10 or above on a graphic and CSS based lookup AND a rating of 8/10 or above on a graphic examples page from a council member.

4; Recieve a rating of 9/10 on a graphic examples page by a council member.

5; Good friends of council and approved members can be invited to the guild regardless of whether they meet the requirements or not.

other information

Anyone caught using stolen graphics and/or CSS in an application WILL be reported to TNT and banned from ever receiving invites from Beaux Arts. All work MUST be your own.

Graphic examples pages should include at least five pieces of your work.

We will rate lookups and petpages for guild entrance, but unfortunately, not personal websites. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Some exceptions will be made. We strongly encourage anyone and everyone interested in design to try out for our guild.

ratings

Our council rates on a scale out of 10 possible points for guild enterance to balance out the different rating styles of each council member.

Graphic and CSS based lookup ratings are based upon the following three factors:

Quality of Graphics; 40% (4 points)
Quality of CSS; 40% (4 points)
Creativity/Overall Effect; 20% (2 points)

Graphic examples pages and CSS only lookup ratings are based upon these two factors:

Talent Displayed; 70% (7 points)
Creativity/Overall Effect; 30% (3 points)

Points achieved in each category are totalled, and that is your rating. We will always provide constructive criticism with our ratings.

Remember, if you don't meet the requirments of one council member, you can always ask another. Any council member can send out invites, so don't be afraid to ask multiple council members for ratings.

how to join

There are two ways to join the guild, assuming you meet our requirements.

+ Find one of our recruitment boards on the AC.

+ Neomail a council member and ask to be rated.

We do not require a formal application. However, if you neomail a council member for a rating, please put an obvious title, like Beaux Arts, on your neomail. Also, don't forget to clearly state what you want to have rated. This makes our lives so much easier. Thanks!

exceptions

Sometimes the council will choose to make an exception and invite someone who doesn't quite meet the requirements. Cases of these may vary, but being persistent can pay off in the long run.

Keep in mind that if you don't make the cut the first time, you are strongly encouraged to re-submit a refined version of your application or submit a new one in the future!

general guild rules

Nobody wants to be in a dramatic guild. We like to keep things running smoothly in Beaux Arts, so we do have a few guild rules you must follow when you join.

No begging for anything. This includes items, avatars, neopoints, and graphics/coding help. People will be much more responsive if you ask nicely. Please review our lending information before asking about possible lends.

Stealing graphics, CSS, or style is unacceptable and will get you kicked out of the guild. Everything must be your own work.

Putting down other guild members on the guild board is not allowed. If you have a beef with someone, please take it to neomail or emesen.

Falure to follow these rules will land you with a warning and then a suspension from the guild. If you are suspended three times, you will be banned from Beaux Arts.

ranking system

Here are the requirements to move up through the ranks of the guild. (Dananananananana BATMANNNN!)

Joker Goon; Default rank when you join.
Sal Maroni; Reach 200 posts.
Scarecrow; Reach 700 posts.
Two Face; Reach 1500 posts.
Joker; You must be appointed by council.
