welcome, guest
Welcome to Fruits Basket World, created by egyptgrl662 or Zoe.

Fruits Basket World is an anime-centric site, devoted to the wonderful anime & manga called Fruits Basket. Here you can find all sorts of Fruits Basket goodness, including things I've made, fanart and even Fruits Basket-themed adoptables.

If you have something that's Fruits Basket-related, you can Neomail me and I'll put it up here.
Please try to remember that I DON'T OWN ANY PART OF FRUITS BASKET, AND I NEVER WILL. If only...

Have fun, and please remember to link back if you like it!

how to
Below is a How-To guide for this:

WHAT YOU NEED
• White fabric. It can be patterned or textured to look like the rice in an onigiri_
• Dark green fabric. It should be smooth.
• Needle.
• Green thread that is close to the color of the dark green fabric.
• Cotton balls, to stuff your onigiri with. Make it cuddly!!
• Permanent markers to draw your onigiri_ __s face. If you're good at embroidery and such, you can try that, but using markers makes it quite easy.

Step 1

Cut out the paper templates. Make one Nori piece of fabric and two Body pieces of fabric out of the green and white fabrics.

Step 2

Begin by laying the Body pieces (made from white fabric) on top of each other. Choose the piece that you want to be the back of the ongiri and set it aside.
Take your green Nori piece and sew it onto the middle of one side of the piece of fabric you did not set aside, using the running stitch. (You can find information on how to do the running stitch below.) This will be the outside of your onigiri_
RUNNING STITCH
Pass the needle in and out of the fabric to create a stitch like the one below.

Step 3

Pick up the piece of fabric you set aside earlier. Place it on top of the fabric with the Nori piece sewn onto it. The Nori should be facing INSIDE, so that you cannot see it.
Sew together the two sides of the Onigiri_ leaving a three-inch opening on the bottom. This is where you will stuff it.

Once you have sewn it together, you should NOT be able to see the Nori. Tie a knot at the end of your stitching and snip the thread.
Turn the onigiri inside out from the opening you left earlier. The Nori should now be on the outside of the onigiri_

Step 4

Before you stuff your onigiri_ you'll need to draw its face. You can use my Face Template and draw from the example, or you can make your own face. Use Sharpie ultra fine line markers for this purpose.
Now that you have drawn the face, begin putting cotton balls into the plushie. Stuff it until you find that it feels right. Once you've done this, use your remaining green thread to sew the bottom of the onigiri up. Use the overstitch (look below for a diagram) to do this.

To get the template, copy & paste this into your address bar. Drag the image to your desktop, then print it and use it as you would use any sewing template.
