welcome
The Neo Project was created way back in 2008 by a group of crazy kids just looking to have a good time. Since then, we've created and re-created the guild, remodeled several aspects and evolved handfuls of ideas to bring you the present creation that is TNP.
Initially, The Neo Project was designed to be a group of anonymous givers who would dedicate their time to reaching out to the neopian community. Now, a new vision has dawned: why not invite neopians to share their dreams in a way that allows everyone to view them and know what they are?
Hence, the portfolio was born. Not only do portfolios allow you to write down all your goals and accomplishments, they also double as a blog, a record keeper, a creative display and anything else you can think of! Your portfolio is your own personal file and tool--use it in a way that benefits you the most.
By creating a portfolio, you are giving everyone who visits the site a chance to get to know you, learn from your experiences and potentially lend you a helping hand.
The guild is an attempt to branch the gap between the wealthy and poor, the new and old, the fortunate and not-so-fortunate. With luck, The Neo Project will bring together neopians with different interests, backgrounds and expertise to join in the effort to accomplish a single goal: to help others.
By bringing together such different talents and perspectives, we hope to inspire, inform and influence. Above all, we hope to celebrate your accomplishments, recognize your kindness and compassion for others and share your story with the rest of Neopia.
Thank you so very much for visiting. With your help, we hope to create a more interconnected, altruistic and happy Neopia--a better place for everyone.
Sincerely,
The Neo Project Staff
rules
1. The Neo Project is not a contest, raffle, giveaway or a way to make neopoints. We abide by all Neopets Terms and Conditions and do not condone anything that deviates from such.
2. The Neo Project would never ask participants to pay neopoints or items in exchange for anything offered on the site. We are more than happy to help Project members without expecting anything in return.
3. The site is designed to showcase the fine achievements of our fellow neopians--it is never okay to pester, spam or beg anyone for items, neopoints, graphic/art requests, etc.
4. Do not steal. Period. This includes content, graphics and/or coding. If you copy and paste anything from a page--it is theft and you will be reported.
5. If you receive help from someone towards a goal or dream and feel the need to repay us, pay it forward! Help another neopian in need and pass on the kindness.
On The Boards
» Please no chatspeak
» Your messages should be at least five lines or longer
» Putting your name in your signature is especially helpful if you are new to the guild ^^
» Please make fonts readable--high contrast between colors and large-enough-to-read text
Five lines? That sounds crazy!
Five lines really isn't so long, if you take the time to read other posts and respond to a few at a time. Plus, longer, meaningful posts help to keep the boards moving at a reasonable pace, so everyone can keep up and have a chance to respond to the current topic. When members spam the boards, it's easy for others to get discouraged and feel ignored or left out. Does that mean all posts must be five lines, absolutely, no exceptions? No! We understand that some things can be summed up better in fewer words. But please don't be the member who habitually spams the boards with one-liners, such as "Hello," "OK," or "G2G, TTYL."
Neopets T&C
The Neo Project does not sponsor any kind of promotion offering prizes of any sort (including contests, raffles, lotteries, chain letters or any kind of giveaway).
Why? Many guilds use these sorts of activities to scam members out of their neopoints or items. We want to keep our members safe, and believe that there are other, more creative ways to keep ourselves entertained while still abiding by all Neopet's terms and conditions.
No Donations
The Neo Project does not have a donation shop. Put simply, we are here for you, not the other way around. Keep your neopoints--we are happy to share. ^^ Or better yet, pay it forward to someone else in need.
Responsibility
» We expect our members to be active and participate--inactive members will be deleted
» Members who have not posted in over a month will be deleted (if you plan to be gone for an extended amount of time, please notify council and we will gladly excuse you)
» Please enable Guild Mailings to stay up-to-date with what's going on in the guild
Courtesy
Please be respectful of others! If you come across a problem, please contact a council member right away, and let us handle the situation.
» Do not join with multiple accounts
» Do not host activities or pages without consulting the guild council first
» Do not use any of our graphics, coding, or content without asking for permission.
frequently asked questions
Q: How many members do you have?A: We have a member cap that hovers around 50 members--we hope to keep our numbers between 40 and 60.
Q: Where is the application?
A: Your portfolio IS your application. Our portfolio page has a selection of codes for you to choose from. c; Please remember that you should only fill out a portfolio if you plan to use it regardless of whether or not you get accepted into the guild.
Q: Do I have to fill out everything?
A: It would be beneficial, yes.
Q: How active are the boards?
A: The boards are moderately active. Because of our "5 line" rule we don't have 10 posts in a minute. The board is always moving but not so much that you are lost in the middle of conversations.
Q: What are the age groups in the guild, like a range?
A: We believe the age group we represent at this moment is between 14-25 ish.
Q: Can I change the colors of the portfolio?
A: Of course, change them to your heart's content, as long as you leave our credit/link back to the site.
Q: I'm surprised with the range of ages. I would assume with The Neo Project to be 18+
A: I am not sure about my estimate of the ages. A majority of us are 18+ but we do have younger members. We look more at maturity, the quality of their account, and the information they provide in their portfolio (:
Q: Can I see some examples of good Portfolio's?
A: All of our member portfolio's are awesome, they are linked on the website in the archive!
Have a question that was not answered? Please feel free to neomail us with any questions, comments, suggestions, complaints, etc. Your feedback is so, so important to us, and we want to hear from you!
portfolios
Your portfolio is a way of keeping track of your personal goals, progress, and accomplishments, and also doubles as an application when you apply. Feel free to fill your portfolio with art, screenshots, images, etc. You may alter the code in anyway you like, but please keep the link back to the guild somewhere on your page.
How you use your portfolio is entirely up to you! It does not have to be strictly for goals and wishlists--be creative, branch out and use it for whatever suits you best.
Do you have to set goals? No! The default codes are just there as a starting point. If you want to use your portfolio for something else, do that! It can be a lab log, a screenshot chronicle, a guide, a list, whatever you want.
Do you have to keep the original coding? No! Feel free to change the colors, add images, swap fonts, etc. However, please do keep a link back to us unless your portfolio is 100% original.
Do you have to be a member of the guild to use the codes? Nope. Members and well as non-members are welcome to create a portfolio and add it to the directory.
We now have a separate page for portfolio codes! Visit our portfolio page to get the coding! When you are finished filling out your portfolio, please send it to Kitty or Sunny to submit your application. c:
*** Before applying please read through our application guidelines!

You are a normal coconut, a fantastic achievement considering the general madness that is TNP. Congratulate yourself for this and try to cling to your sanity for as long as possible! |
![]() |
You're an evil coconut, that's for sure. But what could be worse than an evil coconut? A mini evil coconut of course. You may be small in size but you're as evil as the rest of them and due to the other coconuts having a tendency to underestimate you, your evil plans tend to go unnoticed until it's too late. |
![]() |
You're like a regular evil coconut, only with tusks. What difference does this make I hear you cry? Well I don't actually know, but I'm sure it's something very important. |
![]() |
You've spent way too much time dreaming of paintbrushes and FFQs that through some creepy neopian miracle, you are now a painted evil coconut. Possibly not the most intimidating of coconuts, but you're great when it comes to disguises. |
![]() |
You are a sinister coconut, no one is ever quite sure of your motives, and you love it that way! Whether it's a cunning plot to earn some extra neopoints or plans for neopia domination, you're always up to something but no one can ever figure out what it is... |
![]() |
You're a friendly little thing, but if someone says something to anger you then everyone knows to run for the cover of safety or face your wrath, a mistake people only ever make once. |
![]() |
Like a tiny dog, you make up for your lack of size by being incredibly vicious. All the other coconuts know not to mess with you, not if they want to realise their dreams of appearing in the NT one day. |
![]() |
You sit there looking almost like a normal coconut and others approach you seeing nothing other than your seemingly harmless exterior. And then you explode. It never fails to amuse you. |
![]() |
Like a regular evil coconut, only extra crispy. Is this a good thing or a bad thing? We've yet to work that one out. |
staff
Have an idea for the guild? Fantastic! We love it when our members suggest new ideas and improvements for the guild! Any ideas, comments, critiques or suggestions can be mailed to the guild account.
If you're interested in running an activity, event, service, themed day, etc. you may also choose to become a volunteer staff member--basically, anyone who is willing to dedicate time to the guild. The only requirement is that you make a few basic goals and report your progress on a weekly basis. This can be as simple as updating the page every other day or getting a certain amount of people to sign up.
If you're interested in a council position--which requires a larger time commitment and more responsibilities, such as processing applications, running auctions and making regular updates--you will need to create a campaign page or add a section to your portfolio for your staff goals.
As a staff member, you will be required to outline what you plan to accomplish and improve in the guild in the next month. This outline will be used to keep a record of your progress, and should be updated weekly if elected.
Things To Keep In Mind
» be prepared to make daily or weekly updates
» tasks must be completed on time--failure to meet deadlines will result in a warning, and possibly removal from staff
» we reserve the right to delete members from a staff position at any time
*Please submit your campaign page to the guild account before the first of the month.
host
Monthly EventMembers may earn a new badge and rank up in the guild based on participation in the monthly event. (Ranks are reset monthly.) Staff members are responsible for hosting the monthly event.
Workshops
Any member may host a workshop--a daily or weekly event. Workshops may include some sort of instruction or how-to (e.g., drawing, writing, graphic making, game tutorial, etc.) or can simply be for fun.
