Picture drawn by Shackle
Tiero resembles a angler fish mostly, but some of her features also resemble an eel. Her tail is very long and her body is spotted with glowing dots. These 'dots' help her see in dark and dim water of the deep sea. Her glowing 'orb' over her head is used mostly in catching food. Small fish and other sea creatures are attracted to the sweet pink light and when they come close enough, she can grab them. She has the ability to turn her glowing parts off and on at her own will. She is mostly around during the night, when it is dark and deep underwater so it is unlikely to see her when she is not glowing.
Down her back she has poisonous barbs that can inject poison when inserted. If something tries to attack her from the back, the poison releases itself as soon as it is inserted or touches something. Her mouth also contains 2 types of poison. The top fangs inject a deadly poison that kills within minutes and the bottom fangs inject a poison that can paralyze anything. Her tongue is a blue colour to warn away predators. This feature of her is almost useless because predators cannot see her tongue when they attack. This colouring is constant in many poisonous creatures.
She is a dark almost black colour so she can blend into the deep water when she is trying to catch prey. Her mane is also a dark almost black colour for the same reason. Her tail is shaped much like a fishes tail, used for quick propulsion and steering. She rarely venturers out onto the land because the length of her tail makes it hard to move quickly. She prefers water because she can be quick and is easy to become almost invisible.
Her coat is much like the coat of a sea lion. For the most part it is thick and lays close to the body to keep her warm in the deep water. The long hair around her hooves keep them warm as well. In deep water the temperature can drop well into the minuses. Many creatures cannot survive in this type of environment, so she had to adapt to her surroundings. Her ears, eyes and nostrils are specially built for her. Her eyes are much like those of a fish, with no eye lid and a protective coating. Her ears and nose have a special flap (also like a sea lions) that fold over while she is in the water. The flaps open when she is out the water.
Personality
Tiero is sort of mysterious. She mostly keeps to herself but isn't against contact with others. She is fairly quiet most of the time but can be very defending of herself if needed.
History
Many years ago Tiero was brought into this world. Her mother and father were both maraquan unis of the same species, except her parents had a small difference from her. When she was born, she had developed a small orb dangling from her forehead. No one knew at the time, but this orb actually ran in her family. Somehow during a mix-up at the lab ray, one of the unis was genetically mutated with an angler fish. For some reason, this mutation had never occurred in Tiero's family until her. Immediately she was seen as an outcast amongst her fellow children and spent most of her time alone in the deep ocean waters where she could fit in. She perfected her hunting skills very early on and soon learned of her even more strange characteristic; she could glow. The orb on her forehead, along with the dots along her body lit up and she soon learned how to turn each one off and light them up in any order she wanted. Both of her parents died young, most likely from mutated DNA. No one really knows how old Tiero is now, but it is suspected she is over 100 years old, but she doesn't look it. Presently she travels the waters, like she has always done.
