Hello, guest welcome to my Cave Glider Guide.
So you're here because you want to finish the game ? You've been trying for hours and hours without getting more than 1000+ ? Has it been annoying you ever since its release ? Then hopefully, after reading this guide, you'll be able to finish the game and be done with it !
Why play the game ?
You'll need to get a score of 2500 minimum in the game in order to finish the Chapter 9 Atlas of the Ancients Plot step and in order to get the Deployed Parachute plot prize.
The parachute is a wearable item.
The game also has a neopoint ratio of 1.00, meaning you'll get 1000 NP if you score 1000+ for the game.
How to play the game ?
First off, you can click on the image of the game at the beginning of this page to play the game.
The aim of the game is pretty straightforward: you need to get Roxton (the Lutari) to the bottom while collecting various things on the way. You need to avoid all the creatures you will find on your way as well as the walls. Any contact with them will make you loose health points. You can monitor Roxton's position in the tunnel by looking at the red dot on the top left part of the screen.
The controls are fairly straightforward: up, down, left and right. If you have problems directing Roxton around try to move by steps and not in one go. Roxton will speed up if you press on a direction key too long so if you just press it once and release it, you should get the hang of it after one game :).
Now remember, if you're a beginner at this game (which is why you are reading this guide, if you're not then you're not on the right page :P), then the key to get a 2500+ score is to FINISH all 3 levels of the game !
Tips to finish the game
There are 4 types of objects you can collect:
-
Gems:
They will earn you various amounts of points (see later for the exact amount) so make sure you collect them. But remember they aren't vital, so don't get yourself killed for a gem ! -
Bonus (green disks):
They will always earn you more than the gems on the same level, so collect as much as you can but do not get yourself killed for one of them ! -
Health points:
Those are VITAL !! If you do not have full health, make sure you collect them ! ALWAYS try to keep your health bar at least half-full, even if it means not collecting all the gems you see.
If there is a petpet standing between you and a health point and there is no way you can avoid it, then I advise you to collect the health point even if it means running into that petpet. Your health bar will fill up more than it will be affected by the petpet. -
Time Bonuses:
They will give you a 15s bonus. Collect them whenever you can since time can earn you 'time left'x10 points by the end of the level. But again, do not get yourself in danger while collecting one of them. If you're a beginner at this game, I do not recommend worrying about them as you need a lot of luck at first to get to the bottom with leftover time.
This game only has 3 levels, with different gem colors and different petpets:
-
Level 1:
This level has red gems. The thin red gems will earn you 25 points, the diamonds will earn you 50 points. Remember that the green disks will earn you 75 points so if you have the choice between the gems or the disk, do not hesitate to go for the disk. This level should be fairly ok so if you take your time (do not rush down and try to stay in the middle of the screen) you should be able to collect all the gems.
The screenshot below shows: all the petpets you can find on level one. You can also see the red dot on the upper left of the screen for the position in case you haven't seen it before :)
Don't worry about the time, just try to collect the gems. If you get to the bottom with less than half the health, just restart the game as you will need as much health as possible to make it through the second level.
The spyders are probably the most annoying petpets on this level, so take your time, do not rush down. Don't hesitate to stay up the screen until they move out of your way before going further. If no random rock blocks your way, you should be able to finish the level without loosing too much health. -
Level 2:
This level has green gems. The small thin ones will earn you 50 points, the square ones will earn you 75 points and the green disks will earn you 100 points.
Be careful, this level is relatively more difficult than the two other levels. In this level, just focus on staying alive by any means. If you see a way to get through without running into petpets, do not hesitate to rush down the screen past them. There will be a point where you can't avoid those petpets so make sure you pick up all health points you see.
-
Level 3:
This level has blue gems.
It is easier than the previous level and most of the petpets are quite slow so just stay calm and wait until they get out of your way before dashing down.
Final and general tips
Be careful at the beginning of the levels when Roxton just appears out of nowhere, you're very likely to run into a petpet flying around. So make sure you finish a level with a health bar as full as possible so that you do not die at the beginning of the next level.

The tunnels are always the same except from some extra rocks that sometimes appear randomly on both sides of the walls (as on the screenshot on the left). You can sometimes get unlucky and two of them will block your way and you won't be able to go through without loosing health. This is why you ALWAYS need to keep your health level as high as possible.
Once you know how to direct Roxton well enough, a good tip to finish the game is to position yourself at the top of the screen, then dash down. Once you passed all ennemies safely and nearly reach the bottom of the screen, dash back up the screen until you reach the top. Keep dashing back and forth between the top and the bottom of the screen and you should be able to avoid most obstacles.
Please note this tip doesn't work for everyone, so if you get worse results with it, or if you don't direct Roxton very well then just keep the good old method of going down straight and avoiding as much as you can.
A lot of people find that setting their game in low quality helps directing Roxton around :). You can also turn off the sound/music to stay concentrated.
If you follow this guide, you should get 600+ at the end of the 1st level, 1800+ at the end of the second level, and finally 2500+ by the end of the 3rd level. But this will depend on the game and on what gems/bonuses/health points you get. They are generated randomly for each level, which means if you get lucky you can get 900+ in the first level and end up with 4000+ by the end of the game.
So if you feel like your game didn't start well, do not hesitate to reload it to get better gems or more health points. Good luck :) !
Hope this guide helped a little !
