Well, hi there~ My name is Retro, and welcome to my application for Hryc, the pink draik. This is the main part of my application which will explain my plans for Ry(what I will be calling her throughout the application) the best way I possibly can. So sit back and relax. C:

Plans for Hryc

Ry will be housed on my main account.

My first plans for Ry would be to give her a character, design, and story. All of my pets have been assigned unique, one-of-kind designs and personalities. My pets are known for their eccentricities and I am proud of each and every one of them.

If you look at the links to the right of this page, you will see that I have already started creating Ry's petpage. This will further explain the character design, personality, and story I have planned for her. Here is also where you will learn about my other characters and their designs. But before you click it, I insist you read ahead before you are struck with confusion. xD

I plan on repainting Ry White or Maraquan for the design I have in mind. "Why not just keep her pink?" I've been asked by many. Well, I can't help when inspiration strikes. Any other artist would agree with me: Trying to stop inspiration is like trying to bring a speeding train to a sudden halt. It just doesn't happen. (At least not without severe injury.)

Like the rest of my pets, Ry will get plenty of art attention. Especially since she is a different species than a majority of my pets, and I have really been trying to stray from my comfort zone when it comes to art. C: An art page link can be found to the right.

Ry will most likely be entered into the Beauty Contests. Maybe not on a weekly basis, but at least once a month. I love the competition, and when I found out they increased the file size for entries, I am super excited for her to be my first BC pet in awhile.

Ry will be roleplayed. Writing is as much of an art for as drawing and painting. It is more difficult for me to write, but there is just something so exciting and captivating about a roleplay you can't stop replying to. The character I have planned for Ry was created in mind so that both sides of a roleplay can enjoy the reactions and have plenty of room to work on replying. That, alone, is no easy task.

Also, as you can see on Ry's petpage, I plan on giving her a maraquan ghostkercheif as a petpet. He can be found by clicking on the "gallery" link to the right.

One thing I do not plan on emphasizing so much if I adopt Ry, is customization. I do not have access to NeoCash (lol poor college student), therefore, making it difficult to dress my pets appropriately to their designs. I've been on this site way before the thought of dressing your pets crossed anyone's minds, and people got along without it just fine. I like to show my pets beauty with art rather than clothes. I understand that this can really turn away some fosters, but I just want to be truthful with you: I do not care for customizing my pets. C:

About ME~

Haha, well, as I mentioned earlier, my name is Retro and I am an 18 year old college student planning to major in animation. Pokemon, Okami, and Harvest Moon are about the only video games I'll play willingly and I want a pet octopus. Um. That's about the personal information you'll get from me. But that's okay. This application isn't so much about me as it is Ry. C:

Goals

I've been playing Neo for about six years now, so I'd consider myself fairly knowledgable on the way this game works. Yes. I do consider Neopets a game. Tthese pets are nothing more than pixels. And so are their colors and their clothes. But the memories and characters made here will be remembered forever by me. And if not by me, my first goal is to make people remember me as a Neopian. Not for the fancy pets I have or the amount of NP I have, but for my designs. If people remember, that means I have inspired. And that means they can inspire the further generations of artists on this site. This site is what got me drawing and I want someone to feel the attachment to their characters as I do to all of my pets.

My second goal is quite a long shot and will probably never happen, but is to own UC Plushie pets to match all the main characters of Winnie The Pooh and create my own little group. My characters for them would not be copies, per se, but evil copies. "RETRO, HOW COULD YOU RUIN MY CHILDHOOD??" Haha, well, I've always loved 'darker' versions of stories. American McGee's Alice games…? Or SyFy's Alice? Yeah, I love them. C:

I also like adopting well named pets from the pound (especially lupes, I can't stand to see one in the pound T_T), painting them, and adopting them out. As I've only done this a few times and have only been able to paint them cheaply, I plan on expanding this project. My third goal on Neo is to complete the lab map so I can zap pets and adopt them out. With better color possibilities, I could attract better applicants, which gets pets better homes.

Favorites!

A lot of people think "animation" is an art major, but where I go to school, it focuses on media and "movie making". I suppose I'm pretty picky when it comes to theatrical entertainment. And I hope I don't get points off for this, but I have two favorite movies. Disney's The Lion King will always be a favorite of mine. (A lot of the movies Disney released in the 90's were my favorites.) The characters, the animation, the emotion… all of it touches me every time I watch it. I'm eighteen and still watch it on a monthly basis. In my dorm room. I also got to see The Lion King on Broadway and it was quite an amazing experience. Another movie I really enjoy is She's The Man. Amanda Bynes has a direct line to my funny bone and the story keeps everyone entertained for the whole movie.

My favorite artist (music wise) would have to be Justin Timberlake. I have been a fan of Justin since his early N SYNC days. All the way back to "Tearin' Up My Heart". That's right. I was into boy bands. Hardcore. But what eight year old girl at the time wasn't? Even when the the group split up, Justin continued to create great music and make a name for himself. After releasing several other albums and making appearances on several television shows and movies (Nickelodeon, Saturday Night Live, Ellen), Justin is now a well known name in the comedy and musical arts. To me, he is just so funny and so classy; I can't help but love him. He is also the man I'd like to marry someday. –shoe'd-

Admiration

Admiration is a strong word, in my opinion. And the only person that fits under it, in my life, is my father. My dad is my best friend and my hero. He works so hard and always has the best advice. I play volleyball on a collegiate level and he knows what to tell me to keep me going on a bad day. "Just play your game", "Remember to have fun", and "Don't get upset. You play so much better and are so much more fun to watch when you just go out and have fun. You always have the biggest smile on your face when you play volleyball." Are just a few of his words that will forever stay with me. My father works so hard for his age and I want to be in that good of shape when I'm his age. Also,I want to love my job as much as he does. He is always so positive and knows exactly what to do to make me laugh. He goes out of his way to do things for me, even when I don't ask. And I'm always sure to thank him when I get the chance.

Neo Life

Well, if you couldn't tell by my plans for Ry, that I pretty much spend most of my time drawing, creating character for my pets, and roleplaying on Neo. Since I am a college student, I don't have a lot of time to spend on this site. As much as I love it, I don't have the time to customize and restock. I do play games if I have the time, but most of my spare time is spent on the BC boards here on neo. I have just recently started collecting squid items after my realization of how much I adore cephalopods. Other than these few things, I don't do much on Neo. :C
