Hey, what's up? Startled, you look around, trying to find the origin of the voice. Up here! Twisting your head in the direction of a nearby tree, you look up. Amongst the thick, leafy limbs you spot a pair of emerald eyes glowing down at you. You quickly hop back as the animal dives down into the clearing below, gracefully landing on all four smokey-grey paws. You quickly identify that the animal is a kougra. His coat is as black as coal and vibrant stripes line his body along with a few yellow glowing swirls on his checks, ankles, shoulders and hips. So you wanna race? How about a climbing contest? The excited kougra waves his tail. As confusion clings to your mind, another kougra, with the colors of an autumn leaf dappling her pelt, hops out of the same tree. Seeing the bewilderment on your face, she giggles. I don't think guest wants to challenge you. I think they're here to know a little more about you. Disappointment flashes in the black kougra's eyes, but is quickly replaced with understanding. Oh, well why didn't you just say so? Follow me. I'm Teanllia by the way, and this is Larkwind. He says, gesturing to the kougra beside him.

Story

So, you're looking to know about my life, eh? Teanllia asks as you follow him and Larkwind through the forest. After you nod, he breaths a sigh. Alright, fine. The two kougras jump in unison over a fallen log. You clumsily attempt to follow them over and land ungracefully on the other side as the kougra begins his story....

I lost my mother when I was very young. I remember it being dark...pitch-black. I barely had my eyes open when I realized my mother had me by the scruff running briskly through the brush. I could feel anxiety coming off of her like waves threatening to overtake me. I wiggled and gave a little squeak of protest, but my mother promptly gave me a low growl. I stayed silent once again.

Suddenly, you feel a sharp pain on your heel. You jerk your head down to see a small raptor-like creature nipping at you. Ah, I see my petpet has introduced himself. Teanllia gives the little creature a stern look that makes him stop. This is Inferno, he's a Niptor. He's a real handful at times, but he's fiercely loyal and would do anything for you. He gives Inferno a flick with his tail and, in turn, Inferno gives a little squeak of happiness. You give the Niptor a pat on the head before continuing.

So, what about your family? You ask with curiousity.

Severich is like the older brother I always wanted. He's about 3 years older than me. He loves giving me advice on any problem I face. I don't know what I would do without him.

You've already met Larkwind. She used to be Silver's first kougra, but she was so warm and welcoming to me when I joined the family. She's always there to join into my crazy dares and challenges and never lets me down. I owe her a lot.

Rez is, for lack of a better word, the bully of the family. He can usually be spotted conducting his latest, poorly thought out prank. Rez's pranks ultimately fail for the most part, which leaves his temper in the gutter.

Lunaurion is an adventurous kougra who grew up on the beaches of Mystery Island. Excitement and adrenaline rush through her at the though of going exploring or surfing. She seems to have no fear when it comes to perilous excitement.

Taeleigh

Tae, what a creative kougra! She is amazingly talented and sensitive. Her artwork is so inspirational it could take anyone's mind off of even the most nerve-wracking problem they have. If Ricky isn't around, I always go to Tae when I want to talk about my problems. When she's not painting her latest masterpiece, she's hanging out with her best friend, Auza.

Pilerow

Pilerow is all about nature and being outdoors. Row prefers sleeping under the stars than being indoors. He's like the scout of the family. His hobbies include hiking, swimming, and climbing trees.

Ahzin is the hermit of our family. He doesn't live with us, but out in his little cave where he can be left alone. He spends most of his time doing sorcery with his odd little petpet, Ikou. No one talks to him much, but he can be a nice guy when he wants to be.

Cy is one of the newer members of the family, and so far she has proven herself bright and unique. Soon after she joined the family, we found out she had a special power. We were always wondering how she knew what we were thinking and when the phone wad going to ring. It's not so strange now that we know she's psychic. She is incredibly warm-hearted and kind.

Auza doesn't say much, but it's not because she doesn't like you. She simply cannot speak. From birth, Auza was mute. Sadly, without being able to speak, she couldn't tell her mother where she was and had gotten lost. Luckily, Silver and Tae were taking a walk when they spotted Auza. She joined the family instantly and her and Tae became inseparable.

Nuetril

Nie is quite the shifty character. Since he is a ghost, he is slightly transparent, which gives him the ability to walk through walls and other solid objects. Nothing makes him more happy than sneaking up behind someone and yelling BOO. We don't see him much, you always know he's there.

Kazie has, in my opinion, an unhealthy obsession with the moon, especially full moons and harvest moons. She spends her nights staring at the moon with her glowing green gaze. It almost seems like she's trying to read it, but she keeps her muzzle sealed when interrogated.

Zekn

Zekn is the little brother to everyone and the main target of Rez's cruel pranks. Luckily, Zekn is smart and can usually tell when Rez is about to do something unsavory. Zekn is a Star Maker, which we soon found out that he was born in space. His parents are responsible for all of the stars in the sky. Kazie is acutely curious of Zen's past.

Pallem is the family's superhero. No, I mean it, he really is. He has the power of flight and super strength and is often away fighting for justice in the larger cities of neopia.

Rye grew up in the rough and tough big city. His street smarts enabled him to get through it unscathed, but have now given him an ego boost. His hobbies include looking cool at all times, and getting the girls.

Kaikouria

Koura is currently the only member of the family that isn't a kougra, which makes her feel a bit left out. She usually has a grim, tortured look about her, but she has never revealed the story of her troubled past. She is close to Ricky's age, which makes her second oldest.
