Okay, I know which avatar I want.. but what do I do? To obtain an avatar from the Neopian Coalition, you must first be a member of the guild. Next you should neomail Amelia with your request. She will then set up a trade with the avatar items asked for. You must then offer up items/neopoints as collateral for the avatar.

Why do I have to offer collateral? I'm trust-worthy.. i swear! Each avatar set will have a certain amount collateral that will be asked for depending on the rarity/value of the items. It's not that we don't trust you.. it's just that we want to be sure we get the item(s) back so others in the guild can obtain the avatar as well. =)

Will I get the collateral back after I'm done? Of course! Amelia will keep a list of what items/neopoints were offered and once you set up the return trade, he will offer your collateral. =D

OOPS! I accepted the wrong trade and the lot went to some guy! Now all I have is this scrawy fish.. can I still get my collateral back? Though cases like this rarely occur.. unfortunately, no. We're sorry that has happened, but it would be unfair to us to accept a scrawny fish in place of avatar items that cost the guild or Amelia money. This also goes for any items that may have been stolen from your inventory while using the avatar items. Please be sure to pad your inventory with a few worthless items to make sure ours are not lost.
