WELCOME!
Read on to find out more...

So, guest - I see you've stumbled across the
Miniature Mall homepage! Well, you must be here for a reason. To find out more, read on...
The
Miniature Mall was founded in early July 2011, when Jemz realised there weren't enough quality malls for people with smaller (size 75-300) shops. "Well," she thought, "we shall have to do something about this", and thus, the
Miniature Mall was born. It is possible that if this mall succeeds (as I know it is very hard to get a strong mall up and running), then more branches would be added for bigger shops, allowing members to move up in the ranks as they manage to expand their shops.
Obviously, we aren't very big/established at the moment (well, what do you expect?! It can't happen overnight!), but hopefully with a lot of work and support, we'll be able to get this thing going!

If you want to help us get the ball rolling, read on!

Now, obviously, you can't have a mall with just one person in it - that would be silly! No, I need people who are
hard-working, dedicated, active, conscientious people with a sense of humour. I'm not here to boss you around and make you hate me (though if you do, I'm sorry!) - Neopets is a game. It's meant to be fun. However. There will have to be a few requirements. I know, I know - not cool. But this mall needs to be of a high standard, so we can show people you don't need a size 346367374 shop to be successful!
Please at least have a size 75 shop. This allows you to have a good selection of items, meaning more people coming through the mall - yay! It also shows me you are serious about being part of a mall.
Please be a dedicated player! I don't want to have to fill your space after a week because you suddenly decide you're bored of neopets/being in a mall!
Please try and have your shop stocked before applying. If it's not possible, then no worries - but it helps me see what your shop is like!
I know it sounds like a lot, but really it's all just common sense! I would also just like to say that some things, like shop size and proportion of non-category stock, may be negotiable. Now, if all that hasn't put you off yet (and I don't blame you if it has!), then please have a look at our vacancies on the left-hand sidebar to see if there's anything you can help us out with! Even if we don't have an opening for you just yet, please get in touch anyway, and I'll be able to put you on a waiting list if you're approved.

Now that the mall banner has been added, we're well on the way to being really successful! We're getting lots of page hits, which is brilliant, so we just need a few more people to will the leftover spaces. When I get more organised, there'll also be some graphics that may be handy for your own shops - for example banners telling people about avatars they can get from purchasing your items.
I'll also try and keep a chart of people's upgrades once we officially open. It is recommended that you upgrade at least once per month in order to keep on working our way up. This is something I will be quite lax on to start with, but as we get properly up-and-running, I will expect you to keep on top of this to enable us to get more traffic and more NP!
There will be
NO mandatory noticeboard adverts. It is recommended you put your own one up so you can get your shop advertised. At some point, it may be an option, but there is
no way I would ever force you to pay in order to stay in the
Miniature Mall.
Some tips for a happy malling experience:
Please try and upgrade at least once per month. It'll mean you have space to stock more items, and therefore make more profit!
Please be dedicated to your chosen category. Otherwise people will lose respect for us when they see that our "medicine man" now only sells 1np junk! It would be great if at at least 90% of your stock is related to your category. An idea other malls use which I think is a great one, is a garage sale - basically on select weekends, we all dig out all the non-category items from our SDBs, and stick them in our shops to sell what we can :)
Please keep your shop full. Or as full as possible - I can't specify an exact amount, but there should be at least one-and-a-half for the smaller shops (dependent on category), but the bigger ones should have more pages. It's all proportionate.
Please update the mall banner when asked to do so. Otherwise people won't be able to navigate properly around the mall, and everyone will lose business.
Please have a shop that isn't sore on the old eyes! We don't want to blind our customers, do we?! Similarly, It's preferable that you only use a few graphics (other than a simple layout), as it makes the page load faster, and it's less to scroll through.
Please let me know if you're going away for more than a week. This way you won't get any "gentle reminders" from me about stocking up! On the same note, if you don't log on for more than 2 weeks without notifying me, I will automatically remove you from the mall. Similarly - please give me a week's notice if you need to leave!
Please don't price your items stupidly high! Just because you're part of a mall doesn't give you the right to rip people off! I'm not saying be the lowest on the wiz, but do try to have most of your items at least on the wiz list. It also helps to have the top 5 items on your first page priced low.
Try using a spreadsheet to keep track of your sales/prices. You can use Excel to do this. A much easier way to do this is by using the NeoMallers Portal (search it. It's MAGIC!), which can also work out your most profitable items, AND tell you when particular items are low in stock!
