This guide will not work with the new Neopets layout. I do not plan on writing a new guide because I don't have the time. All the same, I wish you the best of luck creating your own user lookup.

Well this is my guide to lookups. I am not an expert, but i wanted to give people basic information on how to make them. Do NOT ask me to make a lookup for you! Try making one yourself first :D. I will be using regular Paint that almost every computer comes with to make my lookup, and photobucket, so it will be pretty simple. First if you havent already, sign up at Photobucket.com. Its easy and free. Another free service is Imageshack.us, but you can really use any image host that you want. The lookup I will be making today is a Rubber Ducky lookup. I will use items with that theme from neopets but you can use non-Neopets related pictures to make yours. My lookup will consist of:
~A Sidebar
~A Banner
~A Topbar
~A Corner Image
SIDEBAR

I will start with the sidebar. Open up paint by clicking Start on the bottom corner of your screen. Then go to all your programs and choose Accesories where you should find Paint. If you have trouble finding it just tell me and Ill help you.

Click Start.

This is what Paint looks like when you open it up:

Go to Image, Attributes and change the width to 135 and the height to 710. This is the shape of your sidebar. Give it an outline now and maybe a background color.

This is my sidebar with a border. Enlarge the width of your picture so it is twice as wide.

Now that you have an outline, right click on the sidebar below and press copy image.

Go back to Paint and paste it by going to Edit (top left hand corner) and clicking paste. You can move the image by clicking it and dragging it so it is next to your sidebar.

This is how your sidebar should look.

Now you can write the words on your sidebar by clicking the A on the left. Drag the box so it lines up with the words on the Neopets sidebar. Change your font by using the text toolbar which should pop up. If not, right click somewhere in the box you are writing in and choose text toolbar from the drop down list.


Here is an example of how to write. If you get white around your words/pictures you can make it transparent by going to Image/Draw Opaque.

Continue writing down your sidebar lining up your words with the ones on the real Neopets sidebar. You can also add pictures with the words and at the bottom too.

This is my finished sidebar. When you finish your sidebar save it under .Png.(if you dont it wont work) Go to Photobucket.com and sign in. Press Browse and pick your sidebar and press Submit. Take the code in the first box under your sidebar and substitute that for URL.png in the code below.

BANNERS

Banners are fairly easy to make. Just go to Image, Attributes again and make your image width 481 and the height 67. That is not an exact measurement but that is the size of my Banner and it covers up the regular one. Once you have your picture that size just write or draw whatever you want on it. You can copy and paste pictures onto there, write your username or whatever. This is mine:

The code will position your banner. Replace Url.bmp with your image url.

TOPBAR

Make your image 728(width) by 44(height). Decorate this one however you like but you might want to put "Neopets" in the corner. It is possible to make "Neopets" clickable but you have to use 2 seperate images. I will add more about that on my help page, here. If you understand what you are suppose to be making, this is what will be going on top of your sidebar. Some people do this as part of their sidebar but I do them seperately. Once you are done and you have downloaded it, use this code to position it and replace URL.png with your url.

CORNER IMAGE

Corner images can be very simple: just one picture. You could also include writing or other things. Whatever you choose it will be positioned at the bottom right corner of your screen and move when you scroll. It would be best if your design wasn't too big but you can have it any way you want. This is my corner image:

Again replace URL.png with the url in the first box on Photobucket.
Finishing Touches

You can add a border around your Stats/Trophy box like on some of my lookups by using the code below. You can change the border width, color and style(for style choose among solid, double, groove, dotted, dashed, inset, outset, and ridge) This border will show up as blue and dotted.
