Hi guest. Welcome to the Adoption Alliance. I'm Merc. Basically I'm just a regular Neopian who adopts well named pets from the pound to zap, in the hopes that they'll get a better color.

My aim for this adoption agency is to help those poor pets find a home, and the same time, help regular Neopians like you get the pet of your dreams. If you don't find any pets you like here, fear not. A bit lower down, under "Affiliates" is a list of other UFA/UFT agencies, where you might just find your dream pet.

Updates

18/11/09 - Sorry all for the lack of updates! I've been having exams lately, so I wasn't able to update that much.
Anyway, I've got a new pet added to our list of fosters - Thamdyy the faerie jetsam =)

Also, I will now be giving priority to applications for Yanireen. Hopefully we will have found a new owner for her by December.

Applying for a pet

So you've found your "dream pet" here and you're thinking of adopting? Fine :) But first there're some basic things I need you to be clear on:

Only apply if you are interested in keeping the foster pet for yourself. This means no adopting one of my fosters to be put in another agency, or to be traded in for another pet. If by any chance you feel you are unable to take care of the pet any more, feel free to contact me either to return the pet back into my care, or to allow me to help you find a new owner, if that's what you wish to do. I have gotten quite attached to some of them, and no way I'm going to adopt them out to any random person that shows the slightest bit of interest.

If I am not accepting applications for the pet you are interested in adopting at the moment, then please feel free to drop me a neomail telling me that you are interested in adopting him/her. I will then change the pet's status and start advertising him or her on the Pound boards to give everyone who might be interested a fair chance of adopting him/her.

Also note that there is no charge to adopting any of my pets, with the exception of the Pound's transfer fee.

An application is required if you with to adopt a pet from the agency, however, it can be in any form, as I accept both petpage and neomail applications. Petpages are preferred, but they are not required. If you are doing a petpage, please state somewhere at the top that I did not force you to do it.

Obviously it goes without saying that the more effort you put into the application, the higher the chances of you getting the pet. Remember that I have the right to reject an application for any reason and at any time. If you're looking for how to write good applications, then here are some pages that might be helpful:

Note: Gender changes can be done on all of them on request if you don't mind waiting a little longer and possibly getting a loss on your battledome scores

Remember:

Pets that are above level 2, are limited-edition species, or that have been painted with certain rare or expensive paintbrushes, CANNOT be adopted by any account younger than four months. So be careful when abandoning a pet, if you're planning on trying to re-adopt it!

If your account is less than 4 months old, you are limited to the following colours:

Blue - Brown - Checkered - Glowing - Green - Orange - Pink - Purple - Red - Shadow - Silver - Skunk - Speckled - Split - White - Yellow

The pet must be a level 1 or 2 normal (non-limited edition) pet.

Please do not apply for a pet that you cannot adopt

Application musts

Your applications should include the following:

The name of your main account + ALL of your side accounts.
This is important because if I ever see a pet being transferred out of the account I adopted him or her to, I need to know that it is a side and not some other pet trader.
Your name, or a nickname that we can call you. Pretty self explanatory
The name of the pet that you want as the title of the neomail
Why do you want the pet? Why should we pick you instead of the others?
Do you have any plans for him/her?
Plans, I may add, do not include being fed and played with every day. You'd better feed them, or else I wouldn't even consider adopting out to you, but then again, this could easily entail being thrown into the Neolodge. As for playing with your pets every day, don't kid yourself. NO ONE plays with their pets all the time, not even I do.
Saying you'll enter them into the Beauty contest is fine, as long as you have proof that you've done something similar for one or more of your pets. Same goes to petpages and personalised lookups. Stories are good too, but please at least have some rough draft planned out already, or even better, have it all written out nicely instead just telling me "Oh, I'm going to give so and so his/her own story."

All neomail applications or links to petpage applications should be neomailed to mercuria.

Pet Phrases

Each pet that is up for adoption in this agency will come with his or her own unique phrase. These phrases are so that I can differentiate between those who actually read all the rules, and those who don't. They should be included anywhere in the application.

For example, if you are planning to adopt Xenalion, and his phrase happens to be "yellow alarm clocks", then you should include the phrase "yellow alarm clocks" somewhere in your application.

Phrases:

Yanireen - floppy grey slippers

Aztarian - xweetok day

Nkeb - green pickles

Mermenia - buzzybee

Thamdyy - jungles and rivers
