A TLB first, I created these affiliate-specific placeholders that you can use on your sitely page! I like to link mine to my lookup so visitors can simply click on the "Apply" button and know who to contact. This resource comes in a variety of different colours and can be found in the placeholder section (in Site Essentials).

RESOURCES

To further organize and clean up this page, all of the content have been sectioned off into various modules of similar stuff. Here's a run-down of what they are:

Creativity Corner includes Blank Bases, Colour Palettes, and Premade Awards.

Site Essentials has Counter Bases, Site Headers, and Placeholders.

You grab a small card that's stuck to the side of the lunch box. In small, messy handwriting, it says,

If there's one thing that TLB is known for, it's our mouth-watering, delectable sandwiches! Er, I mean variety of resources. Yes! That's what I meant. Take a close look around because you'll find things that no other site offers. When TLB first started, our goal was to provide high-quality resources for all types of sites, so relax and enjoy!

If you didn't find what you were looking for, why not send in some suggestions on the request page?

You pull out a strange scroll that seems to have been written by a citizen of Krawk Island. It seems to be a list of rules...

Rules

Yarr, there be schemin' and dishonest pirates out there, but I'm sure you're not one of them! Before the lunch box is opened, you best be reading these rules.

Be sure to credit. I've provided an example below. Do not make the link go back to this page. The credit should go to /~La_Roque, the main page.
Do not redistribute these on your site, or claim them as your own.
Feel free to re-colour pixel resources to match your site layout. Credit is still needed even if you edit.
If you see anyone using TLB content without credit, please notify me.

Backgrounds

Moving into the shade, you pull the lunch box beside you and continue to search through it. What's this? You pull out a small rectangular container that has the word "backgrounds" written on the side. As you open it, a piece of paper flies out and hits you square in the forehead. Picking it up, you begin to read,

Spruce up your house with these lovely wallpapers! Oh wait, I mean...erm. Add a bit of colour to your page with these backgrounds!

HOW TO USE:

I've provided the code for each background. All you have to do is copy and paste it between your style tags. What are style tags? Look in the textbox below...

HOW TO EDIT:

I've written up two simple tutorials on how to edit backgrounds on this page: fading a background and changing the background colour

HOW TO CREDIT:

Though simply linking back to TLB's main page is fine, it would be awesome if you could be more in-depth!

For decorative or gradient backgrounds, credit like this:

Background pattern from deviantArt; recoloured by TLB

For simple backgrounds, normal credit is fine:

Background from TLB.

Gradient

My favourite background type! The following backgrounds have a fixed x-axis (in other words, they tile horizontally). I've also added a nice fading effect so that the pattern isn't too harsh. Drag and drop the image into the address bar for full view (generally, the background image is 100 pixels in width by 950 pixels in height).

Important note: These backgrounds work best if the height of your page is around 950 px or less.

Creativity Corner

In TLB's Creativity Corner, you'll find a host of various items to spur your creativity!

Blank bases: There's a ton of banner bases to choose from in all shapes and sizes! There are even sections where the banner size has been made to fit many of TKM's popular templates.

Colour Palettes: Need an idea of where to start? These colours palettes can help point you in the right direction!

Premade Awards: If icon requests are closed but you still want a high-quality and customized icon, check out these premade awards! All you need to do is add your site title.

Blank Bases

Need some bases to spur your creative ideas? Why not take a look below and see if you can find anything you like. Some bases have full colour and texture treatment, while others are just colourized. Others might include something extra, like a faded strip for your text or a border. Newer bases are listed at the beginning of each category. To view the full size of the image, drag and drop into the address bar for right-click and choose "View Image".

Important note: This bases are meant for personal use only, not for competitions or custom requests. However, you can use bases to make "gift" banners.

Want to suggest new blank bases? Click here and send in your suggestions. I usually use images from here, here, and here. Also, be sure to note what size you want the blank base to be, and whether any extras should be added (faded strip, border) or just colour/textures.

Banner bases aren't just about adding text. You can do a lot of creative things like changing the entire shape of it! Or, you could even crop a 100 x 100 icon out of it. Here are some examples of what you can do with bases (hover for more details):

Backgrounds (500 x 200)

Great for TKM's Cookie Cutter template in the "Generic/Multi-Purpose" section.

Shopkeepers (450 x 150)

Colour Palettes

While munching on a tchea fruit, you spot something colourful near the left side of the lunch box. It seems to be an artist's mixing tray.

How To use: Drag and drop the images into the address bar for full view (or right click and choose View Image). Save the image to your computer or right-click on the image and select "Copy Image". Open up one of the palettes below in your image editing program. Select the eyedropper tool and click on one of the colours to get the hex code.

Note: Want to see a new colour palette? Feel free to request one! Just send in your suggestions on the request page!

Site Headers

Phew, you mutter, it's way too hot out here in the sun. Taking the lunch box with you, you sit in the cool shade under a palm tree. As you set the strange box on the ground, it suddenly jumps up, hitting you in the forehead! Ouch, you yell, clutching your head as a small booklet pops out of the lid. Grabbing it immediately, you start to read,

What's functional but also colourful? These site headers, of course! Rather than use a text link, here are some spiffy graphics. At the same time, be sure to make your CSS headers look pretty. Everyone loves pretty headers, right?

Graphic-style headers

Instead of using plain text, why not add a burst of colour to your site using these graphic headers?

CSS Headers

Here are some premade header themes for your site! In each textbox, there's the CSS code that goes into your style sheet and an example of what the header code would look like in your main text.

Each "set" below contains a primary header (for things like your page titles, like "Welcome" and "Sitely") and a secondary header for less important titles (things like "Affiliates" and "Updates"). Even though I've provided colour themes, feel free to edit them!

Note: For the sake of capturing the screenshot, all headers are aligned to the left, but you can edit the code and make them centered if you want! Just make sure you change is to text-align: center; and remove any padding that's been added.

Placeholders

Apply

These are great if you want to add some placeholders for your affiliates since they're more specific than the generic "button here" resources. Make the button link back to your lookup so interested visitors will know who to contact.

Status Signs

You pick up a small piece of paper. The edges are worn down and there's a giant coffee stain in the bottom left corner.

Hey again, it's me, Turnip. I was travelling to Meridell when I came across a farmer. He looked like he needed help so I decided to ask him if I could be of any assistance. He told me that he had a site dedicated to his collection Bottled Sand, but it has long since closed. However, people kept asking him where the site went.

I told him I had the perfect solution: use a sign!

After I reached into the lunch box and gave him what he needed, he thanked me, giving me a bunch of bottled sand.

Web Resources

A heavy parcel sits at the bottom of the lunch box and feeling a bit curious, you decide to see what's inside. As you pull it out, a small sticky note drops down. It says,

Did you know that TLB started as a resource site? It's grown a lot since then, but resources will always be the most important part of this lunch box. Use the navigation above to browse through the different content. If you want to suggest new resources, neomail me!

Important note: The majority of the resources have been designed and look best on a white or light background. Some resources (like the large envelopes) have a transparent background so they take the "shade" of the background colour (in this case, yellow).

Be sure to test around to see which resource looks best for your site!
