Welcome to my cavern

Our journey begins...

You approach a seemingly invisible entrance, perfectly disguised by matching icy blues. You slip and slide as you walk through the entrance, eventually getting your bearings. Looking around, you see countless alcoves and walk through one that looks like it opens to a large cavern. Passing the shining icicles from reflected light, the room you have entered is massive and much larger than you would ever think. Inside sits a boy and his friend, you walk to them. They both look at you, and speak.

The story

Chapter One

Soccerpaul Pascht was born into secrecy. His father, the merciless Ice King banished him to the ice caves. Since his father was considered one of the worst Kings of all time, he was not allowed to have children. Soccerpaul was invisible, a nobody, just a thought in the citizen's heads. Of course, to Soccerpaul and his father, he was real.

Soccerpaul was now the heir to the throne. Unfortunately, another prince has been chosen for the position. Soccerpaul can be considered lucky, his first brother was murdered so the throne will no longer be the in the Pascht name. He did not know about what happened to his brother, or even that he had a brother. Soccerpaul has been hidden since birth. His mother is long gone. King Pascht was fearful of Soccerpaul's mother, whos name can't even be recalled.

The King accused her of trying to steal the royal crown. Of course, she did no such thing, but the fear was too great. She was taken to the castle, where she had to appeal her accusation. In Soccerpaul's time, the justice system was the King's high ranking workers. They are always in favor of the King, and her trial was immediately over, and she was proven guilty. Gruesome things were done to her, and she has never been spoken of again.

Chapter Two

Soccerpaul has passed his 18th birthday in the Ice Caves where he is hidden. These caves were chosen because it was the perfect hiding spot. Filled with alcoves Soccerpaul is hidden in one of them, and in that opening, are more openings. It has turned into a maze to say the least, where he spends his days in misery, alone.

Soccerpaul feeds off of the ice surrounding him, it is a common food source to ice neopets. He usually sleeps for his days, if not he runs through his caverns always ending up in the same place, or drawing into the icy walls. He sits in depression, alone with no one to talk to or anything to do. Besides his hobbies, he thinks. He is quite the thinker, and thoughts lead to questions which cannot be answered.

The occasional petpet visitor drops by, a snowickle or chandychan. The petpets can't speak the language that Soccerpaul speaks, so he just has one sided conversations with his newly found friends. But as fast as they come, they also go. They wander off for a meal since they don't have the ability to eat ice, and get lost. Sometimes Soccerpaul finds their remains, and he buries them. Yet another day he must live in isolation.

Chapter Three

A noise is heard from afar, one that Soccerpaul has never heard. He could tell it is distress, and fear. Quickly he flies to the noise, waiting each and every call to make his next turn. This time he didn't end up in his cavern, he was in a section he has never seen before. Fate or luck were his exact thoughts. As he approached the sound, louder and louder it became until he found where it was coming from. There sat a neopet, freezing,

Soccerpaul is not like his father, and he ran to the neopet which was very sick from the freezing cold to help. His wounds were treatable without a doubt, but he was deathly afraid. Soccerpaul just keep looking at this stranger, he had never seen another neopet, let alone one of a different species and color. The stranger was a common folk, and had stumbled into the caverns.

Finally, Soccerpaul speaks, and asks the stranger questions. They talked and talked, Soccerpaul finally having the first conversation in his life. The stranger had grown attracted to Soccerpaul for many reasons, not only because he had saved his life. He and the stranger wandered the caves until they found the spot Soccerpaul remembers most. As they talk, questions inside have been answered.

Chapter Four

Soccerpaul wasn't sure if what he had going on in his mind was just because he found his first real friend. They had grown into the closest of friends, not just because they were trapped in the caverns together. The stranger had chose to stay with Soccerpaul, he could have wandered away like the petpets that he had always watch roam and eventually die.

They both lived in the cavern, but one day Soccerpaul saw a man. He was wearing a cloak, and a huge staff, just like Soccerpaul. He knew it was his father; too scared to approach Soccerpaul just stood there. In the King's hands was Soccerpaul's best friend. With a explosion of icy shards, they both disappeared. Anyone seen with Soccerpaul would be killed! He knew what he had to do.

Soccerpaul wandered through the caves, but this time with a purpose. He wanted to get out. Hours have passed, and he could not find the path away from his usual spot. Now emotional, he listens. As intently as he ever had listened, he heard the faintest of noise. He followed it just like when he met his best friend. This time, he was going to more unexplored areas of the caverns, and he saw it for the first time of his life. He saw the city of his father.

Chapter Five

Soccerpaul did not care about his identity anymore, or how suspicious he looked. He ran through the streets to the largest building, which was the castle. The size of the castle was enormous, and not guarded at all. All of the guards were protecting the King on his mission to steal Soccerpaul's friend.

He ran into the large door, with intricate patters of snowflakes and shards of ice. Inside were pillars of ice, a long hallway with a light blue rug, and doors on the walls of the hallway. The last door, was the largest, and he knew was where his father resides. He bursts through the doors.

There is his friend under the staff of his father. The King lifts the staff and drops it down, and all you can hear is the last shout. Devastated Soccerpaul ran to his friend, crying his name. He looked at his friend, laying on the floor. The King knows his secret is out, and before anything could happen, Soccerpaul and his friend were gone.

Chapter Six

Soccerpaul went to the ice caverns, and he found the place where they had met. He did the same thing he had to do with all of his other friends. But this time was different, and Soccerpaul made the moment special. He formed a marker in that place, and every day he found the spot. Once again, he was left alone.

Appearance

The looks

Being a korbat, soccerpaul is bat-like. Soccerpaul is an ice neopet, usually showing off his various hues of blue color. He is fairly short, but with long pointy wings. His tail is shaped like an arrow at the tip, curving up to his tiny feet. Soccerpaul has very tall ears which give him his keen senses. Last but not least on Paul is his sharp fangs, but he rarely shows them because of his sad face.

He always wears his large crown, that occasionally covers his ears. On the top of his crown is a large snowflake. He loves looking like royalty, so he has a dark blue cloak that perfectly expresses him. He also wears the scarf for decorative purposes, not only does it look good, but it covers his small neck! The ice staff could be considered Soccerpaul's most important item, he never leaves without it. He doubles it as a walking stick, and even carves with it!
