{Welcome to SlothyPlot}

05.02.08 - Step Two has been released! Click the coin to read about it!

SlothyPlot exists with the aim of providing step-by-step assistance which is simple, detailed, and clear enough for even the most novice of players to use with ease. The team behind this are the same as the Lokni guides, and we look forward to offering more of the same high quality updates here.

There is an F.A.Q which can be found here, but if you have any other questions, queries, or general constructive criticism, please do not hesitate to contact me - Other than that, I hope to see you all on the Plot Boards!

Happy Plotting xx

The first puzzle section of our plot has been released! To access it, you need to go to the Virtupets Space Station and look underneath the main map for a set of doors which look like these:

Click on these doors, and you will be taken to the Maintenance Tunnels where you see a screen like this one, and you should click on the door shown in red:

Now for the actual puzzle. On the surface, it can appear to be complicated, but trust me when I tell you that once you understand it things become very simple and swift.

Take a look at the following key:

Mint: Gorix - The character you play.
Red: End Point - The door you are trying to get to.
Pink: Trigger Door - You have to go through this door once before you reach the end point or you cannot get through it, but be careful, once you go through it, it closes and you cannot go through it twice.
Green: Directional Disk - By clicking on this disk, you can control which direction Gorix will turn when he walks over it. Options are North, South, East or West.
Yellow: Directional Arrow - A little difficult to see, but this light green arrow indicates the direction selected on the directional disk. Make sure that this arrow is pointing in the right direction before you start.
Blue: Bad Thing - Basically, avoid these. You die if you go into them. Hence the name, Bad Thing. You should also watch out for Space Aliens, little green men who kill you if you run into them. These appear in later levels.

Also, you will see a button with the word 'GO' written on it. When you press this, Gorix will start walking forward, and you cannot change his path once you begin. When you click 'GO' the button changes to 'STOP' but pressing this only resets the game. This is why you have to set up your directional disks properly before you begin.

There are 5 levels, each of greater difficulty. They can take some time to figure out, but if you want a quick fix, simply set your directional arrows up to match the following list:

Level One: Down.
Level Two:
Right, Left, Up, Down, Right.
Level Three
: Up, Left, Up, Right.
Level Four:
Right, Up, Up, Left, Right, Up, Up, Up.
Level Five:
Left, Left, Right, Up, Down, Down, Down, Down.

The arrows are listed from the left to right of your screen, starting at the top. For those who prefer a graphical representation, just follow the arrows:

When you complete Level Five, you will have completed this puzzle - Well Done!

WARNING - USE OF ANY 'CALCULATOR' PROGRAMME TO DO THIS STEP FOR YOU CAN AND WILL RESULT IN YOUR ACCOUNT BEING FROZEN BY TNT. DON'T DO IT - IT ISN'T WORTH IT!

Gorix and Cylara decide to hack into the Virtupets computer system in hopes of finding out where the Cybunny Scout (and Cylara's parents)might be, but they need your help. You need to return to the Maintenance Tunnels and go through the middle door, as indicated in red:

This takes you to the Virtupets Computer where you will see the following screen:

You need to let the page load so that it looks like the above image, and then hit '4' on your keyboard. No, it isn't an option as such, but it works and more text will appear on the screen:

This time, hit '2' on your keyboard and you will be taken to an 'Inbox'. Be prepared tho, this will bring you to a new page which might just make your head implode:

What you see before you is a list of encrypted messages, and each one is clickable. Click on one and you will see a screen similar to this:

I have highlighted the main areas for reference:

Red: Key - Think of this as your starting point.

Green: Modifier - This is the variable you can change. You drag the Code Sequences into this box. There can be one, two, or three Modifier boxes in your message.

Purple: Result - This shows you the result of adding the Modifier to the Key.

Blue: Target - This is your 'end point' or the code you are aiming for. When the Result matches the Target, you have succeeded in decoding the message.

White: Code Sequences - These are what you drag into the Modifier box. Adding a Code Sequence to the Key gives you a Result. You need the result to match the Target.

Now, this can all seem rather complicated, but read on and it should all become much clearer. I promise! =)

Single Modifier Messages:

Each symbol represents a number. For Single Modifier Mesages, this is the way it works:

Think of this as a simple case of mathematics to start with - the easy kind. Say you have the following message to decode:

First, we need to translate the Key and Target into numbers:

So, we now have a Starting Point of 1, 0, 2, 1 and a Target of 2, 2, 1, 1. Lets get mathematical! Subtract each number in the Key from the Target, meaning that we take 1 away from 2, 0 away from 2, 2 away from 1, and 1 away from 1. (Yes, we treat each of the 4 numbers as a seperate number in its own right, not as one 4 digit number.)

So, this gives us the number sequence 1, 2, -1, 0. Simple, huh? Not so fast. We cannot have a minus number, but that is easily sorted. Think of the numbers 0, 1 and 2 running on a never-ending cycle - 0, 1, 2, 0, 1, 2 and so on. Now, start on the number 1 and go back 2 spaces. Rather than -1, we land on 2. Our new number sequence is 1, 2, 2, 0.

Next, translate this number sequence back into its symbol form. This number sequence now becomes:

Going back to the list of 10 possible Code Sequences on the right of the page, we see that number 9 matches this. We then drag this into the Modifier box and see the following:

The message is decoded!

Double Modifier Messages:

These work on the same principles as the Single Modifier Messages, only the symbols represent different numbers, and there is more than one Modifier box. First, lets deal with the symbols:

So, subtract your Key from your Target as before to aquire the number sequence you need. For example, this was one of my Double Modifier Messages:

In this example, my Key translates as 0, 2, 1, 1, 1, 0 and my Target as 2, 3, 3, 0, 4, 0. When I subtracted my Key from my Target, I got the number sequence 2, 1, 2, 4, 3, 0.

This is where it really changes from a Single Modifier Message. Rather than translate this number sequence back into a Code Sequence, we have to find a way to make these numbers up from two other numbers - this is because we have two Modifier Boxes.

Say we need the number 4 - the different ways we can make 4 would be to add 0 and 4, 1 and 3, or 2 and 2. Here is a list of the possible code combinations which equate to the different numbers you may need (for ease, I've called the symbols by the nearest letter to them):

0. PP ; VC ; 8X.
1. PV ; 8C ; XX.
2. P8 ; VV ; XC.
3. PX ; V8 ; CC.
4. PC ; 88 ; VX.

Notice that these combinations can be turned around - for example PV can be VP - this really doubles the number of possibilities to try. Read on...

Now, back to our example. We know that we need our Modifier boxes to add up to 2, 1, 2, 4, 3 and 0. Pick one end of those numbers, and look at the possible ways of doing it. Say we start from the left and pick 2, 1, 2. Now, there are 3 ways to make each of these numbers - lets take the first one:

2. P8
1. PV
2. P8

Now, this tells us to look for Code Sequences which begin with PPP or 8V8. None of these exist in our list of 20. So try another combination:

2. VV
1. PV
2. P8

As you see, we are only changing the possible sequence for the first number - from P8 to VV. This tells us to look for Code Sequences which start with VPP or VV8 - again, there area none. Continue this on, trying different combinations of the possibilities to get that 2, 1, 2 number sequence... remember that once you have been through all the possibilities as written you have to try them again but turned around...

I hit luck when I tried the following:

2. XC
1. 8C
2. 8P

From this, I needed to look for Code Sequences which began with X88, or CCP - these existed, and so I put them into the Modifier boxes, and hey presto - I had solved the message!

This takes time - there is NO easy, quick fix. However, it is a tricky phase so I am willing to bet that the rewards are half decent - after all, fair-weather plotters are bound to drop out of the running and the fewer participants, the better the spoils =)

Triple Modifier Messages:

For the Triple Modifier Messages, I find it hard to describe a better way to do this that is shown here and strongly suggest you check out that page. However, if you still want to try your luck with the method used for the Double Modifiers, the information you need is here:

Triple Modifiers work on the exact same principles as Double Modifiers, only the symbols correspond to different numbers again, and there are more possibilities for each combination:

8 = 0
C = 1
V = 2
X = 3
% = 4
P = 5

0. 888, 8CP, 8XX, 8V%, CXV, VVV.
1. 88C, 8VP, 8%X, CV%, CXX.
2. 88V, 8CC, 8%%, CPX, VXX.
3. 88X, 8CV, CCC, XXX, PVV, XV%.
4. 88%, 8CX, 8VV, PP8, %XX, XVP.
5. 88P, 8VX, 8C%.

Once you have completed all of the messages, go back to the maintenance tunnels and re-enter the door. You will see the continue screen. Bravo.

Although I would fully recommend reading the new chapters of the comic for yourself, sometimes time is short and you need a quick fix. For that, just read on:

Chapter One - Contact! - We meet Gorix, our intrepid adventurer and hero of the piece. He recieves a mission - to obtain information from a spy on the Virtupets Space Station, described as a 16 year old Cybunny with dangerous information. He sets off on his mission.

Meanwhile, we see a Cybunny under what looks to be laser fire, running through a series of tunnels untill she finds herself in a room full of other Neopets and is safe, for now.

Chapter Two - The Escape! - We are in the Virtupets Space Station with Cylara, a teenage Cybunny, and her parents. They are on holiday, and doing some sightseeing, untill sirens rage and Commander Garoo appears - he has attacked and taken control of the Station for Dr Sloth!

Cylara hides around a corner, seperated from her parents, while a battle takes place, and the Cybunny Scout we saw in the tunnels jumps onto Clyara's frantic parents. Suddenly, Gorix appears, descending from a rope, and assumes that Cylara is the spy he is to meet. They run off, but he soon discovers his mistake...

Chapter Three - The Resistance! - Gorix and Cylara discuss how to find the Scout, and Cylara tells him about the Cybunny who was with her parents. It appears that they both need to find her parents now, and so Gorix takes her to the Resistance HQ, where she is told the story of Dr Frank Sloth and his first attempt at taking over Neopia. We are told that the Space Faerie, a member of the Resistance, is missing, and they begin to prepare a group to go in search of the missing Cybunny Scout and Cylara's parents.

Gorix: A blue Grundo, Gorix is with The Resistance. His mission is to recover the Cybunny Scout and whatever information she may have.

Cybunny Scout: A 16 year old Cybunny who acts as a spy for The Resistance, she is based in the Virtupets Space Station and in posession of some dangerous intel.

Cylara: A teenage Cybunny, she was on Holiday at the Virtupets Space Station when Gorix mistook her for the Cybunny Scout. Seperated from her parents, she now works for The Resistance in the hope of finding her parents once again.

Dr Frank Sloth: The 'Bad Guy' in these parts, Dr Sloth is intent on total domination. Nothing else will do. You can read about Dr Sloth in the NeoPedia and the Gallery of Evil.

Commander Garoo: One of the top Commanders in Dr Sloth's army, Garoo leads the attack on the Space Station in Chapter Two. You can read about Garoo in the Gallery of Evil.

What is a Plot? On Neopets, a plot is is a series of events which lead us through a story, in this case, the story of Gorix and The Resistance. The story is told through the Comics and we take part in various activities, puzzles, and events which are tied into that story. Basically, a plot is an interactive story.

How long does a Plot last? Noone really knows how long a plot will last, so it is better to complete new sections as quickly as you can, just incase they become inactive. On average, plots last for a couple of months, but certain steps may close, meaning that you cannot complete them after a given date. The Altador Plot never closed, and people can still complete it today, but every other plot which has ever happened had a closing date.

Why take part? The most obvious reason to take part in a plot would be the prizes. At the end of each plot, Neopets take (a lot) of time calculating everyone's scores, and then they open a Prize Shop - there are usually several prizes on offer, and the number of points you accumulated during the plot (based on how well you did, how far you got, and how much effort you put in) - They can be worth millions of nps, they can be worth nothing. Take your chances and you just might get something amazing! Oh, and there is usually an avatar and sidebar for taking part.

Do I have to take part? No. Plots are simply another fun thing Neopets offer. Somepeople could not imagine the idea of not taking part, but others can think of nothing worse than waiting around for plot steps to be released. Each to their own, as with most other things in life.

How often are new steps found? Before a new step can be found, it has to be released by Neopets, so it doesn't matter how hard you look sometimes, there is nothing to find. However, they never tell us when they have released a new step, so looking can have its reason! Basically, updates tend to come when the news is updated. They don't usually come at weekends, and they don't usually come every day. 2-3 updates is classed as a really good week, so be patient!

Where can I get help with the Plot? The most common place to find help is the Plot Boards - you will find literally hundreds of fellow plotters here, and if you ask in the right way (politely) then they will be more than happy to offer a hand. Also, we are always around on boards titled {Lokni}// and love to help out!

What happened to Lokni? What a question! Well, first, Lokni is and was many things. Lokni was a pet, but that pet is no more. Lokni was a series of very successfull plot guides which live on in this very guide, but changed their names. Afterall, you can't have the Lokni Guide without the pet named Lokni - it just wouldn't be right. However, we are still around in other ways...

Oh, so where can I find Lokni now?Lokni is a guild, and you can read about that here. Lokni also is a group who meet on the Plot Boards to discuss updates, look for clues, and generally have a right old laugh. You can stop by and talk to us any time - we really would love to meet you!

What does Dr Sloth want? As we are told in Chapter Three of the Comic, many people wished to rule Neopia, but Dr Sloth had the brains and means to do so. He mutated an entire race into his slave army, and wreaked havoc. In time, however, some of these Grundos were released and began to fight against their one time ruler. The Space Faerie gave her assistance and Sloth's mutation ray was turned against him, and much celebration took place. He now wants his revenge.

What is The Resistance? A few brave volunteers banded together, always to be ready for any evil which threatened the universe, and more importantly, to face Dr Sloth should he return.

Can I use your images/words/layout? Um... no. I can give you some pointers in making your own layout or whatever, but this one is mine. It took me a couple of hours to do, and I don't like stealers. Nu-uh.

Why don't you have many graphics? I wanted this page to be fast loading and simple to use, so images have been kept to a minimum. That way, all you have to worry about is following the steps, not being distracted by shiny things in the corner :)

I have a guide too - will you be my Affiliate? - Why not give me a mail? If your guide is good, the chances are I will link to it for you. The same is always appreciated from me - get the word out!

Can I link to your guide on my lookup/pet page/guild/siggy/whatever? Any advertisment is muchly appreciated, and I would be honoured to act as your guild or group's plot guide!
