HOW DO I CHANGE MY SCREEN RESOLUTION?

Basically, a higher screen resolution reduces the size of items on your screen and increases the relative amount of space on your desktop and also increases picture quality and sharpness.

NAV PANEL


Your monitor and video adapter (Graphics Card) determine how much you can change your screen resolution. You may not be able to increase the resolution above or below a certain level.

Here is a list of instructions of ways to change your Screen Resolution for the most common Operating Systems.

PLEASE DO NOT CHANGE ANY OF YOUR COMPUTERS SETTINGS WITHOUT PERMISSION OR HELP FROM YOUR PARENTS OR COMPUTER ADMINASTRATOR.

FOR MICROSOFT WINDOWS XP:

  • Click "Start
  • Click "Control Pannel
  • Click "Appearance and Themes
  • Click "Change Screen Resolution
  • Move the slider until you find the best screen resolution. (The highest resolution will give you the best picture quality and the largets amount of space on your desktop).

FOR MICROSOFT WINDOWS VISTA:

  • Click "Start" or the "round black button
  • Click "Control Pannel
  • Go to "Appearance
  • Go to "Display Properties
  • Move the slider accross to what you want
  • My Vista PC is busted for now (Curse you Dell!) I can not remember if this is the exact way to do it, but I will check and update it if I am worng!

FOR MICROSOFT WINDOWS 95 - 2000:

  • Click "Start
  • Click "Settings
  • Click "control pannel
  • Double click the "display" icon
  • Click on the tab "SETTINGS

FOR MACINTOSH SYSTEMS

  • Go to Applications in the Toolbar
  • Go to System Preferences
  • Go to Displays
  • The different resolutions will be listed in a scrollable box on the left titled Resolutions. Clicking on one will automatically adjust the display to it. After choosing, simply close the window.

WHAT CAN I SELECT?

THE MOST COMMON ARE:
  • 800 X 600
  • 1024 X 768
  • 1152 X 864
  • 1280 X 720 = WIDESCREEN
  • 1280 X 800 = WIDESCREEN
  • 1280 X 960
  • 1280 X 1024 - Best
  • Can go as high as 1800X2600 = Superhuge
I would recomend that you place it on the highest resolution, it gives you the best graphics and picture quality, and will also allow you to veiw the CSSP perfectly :)

WARNING:
Changes to the screen resolution will affect ALL users that log on to the computer.
