Welcome

The forests beyond the tundra

Hello, my name is Setsurei.
I'm a little white kitten (or wocky, which ever you would prefer) with a tiny Hershey kiss marking.
My name means "snow-capped peak" in Japanese. My owner is not Japanese, she uses a translator on the internet. *giggles*

Why don't I tell you about my owner first? She is the greatest thing in the world to me. *big smile* This is a flash back of the first time I met her. *thinks hard*

~.: I was walking through the woods with my tail held near to the ground and my ears alert. My eyes were as watchful as ever as I tiptoed through the woods with graceful and agile steps. With every step I took came a heartbeat and a swivel of an ear. It was my first day outside alone and it was to teach me to fend for myself and keep watchful at every second. My paws were feeling the earth when I heard the faint sound of rustling in the bushes. Not knowing any better, I peeked through a crack in the bush at the movement. I saw a little girl sitting at a log, eating a sandwich. I crept over to her, keeping out of site, and smelled the most wonderful scent ever. Just then, I heard another sound in the bushes. Two eyes glanced at me through splits in the trees and at once, I started running for my life. My quick and nimble steps left the creature in the dust, but before long, my tiny body could not keep up and I had to rest. The creature kept on leaping, nearer and nearer it came until finally it appeared in front of me. My mother had spoken to me about these things, I thought to myself. They were called bears and whenever one was hungry, it knew how to get food. I was just about to bounce across the leaves when I felt myself being lifted off the ground. I felt a huge furry bear-like paw underneath my fur. I closed my eyes, curled in a ball, and waited for my final seconds. Not only did I not feel teeth bearing into my flesh, but I also didn't feel a furry paw anymore. This time I felt a quite soft fabric under my body. Actually, the little girl that I had seen eating the sandwich had rescued me from the bear. I was right now in her picnic blanket. I felt wind whipping through my hair and I knew I was moving fast. I clamped my eyes shut and promised not to open them as long as I bounced up and down. In a couple of minutes, the wind was winding down, the bumpy ride had slowed and as soon as we came to a stop, I had my eyes opened in an instant. I wasn't in the woods anymore. These were whole different surroundings. One tree stood in the middle of a lawn, elaborately decorated with flowers, and a house stood in front of us. The girl was panting very hard and had to put me down. She gently rested me on the grass and the blanket unfolded. My small blue/red eyes were drawn to every particular thing. The little girl, who had stopped panting, was smiling at me with sparkling blue eyes. A tingle went down my spine telling me that I was going to stay here. The little girl took me inside her warm, toasty house and set me down on a soft pillow. She walked away and came back with a warm bottle of milk and a couple of Hershey kisses. She picked me up set me in her lap like a real baby and started feeding me the bottle. Nothing had ever tasted so delicious and I drank the whole thing up. Then she started unraveling her candies and plopping them into her mouth. They looked so good that I wanted to try. I pawed at the tiny silver wrappings and she tenderly dropped a small one into my mouth. YUM! That was so fantastically good that I grew to love them in that first bite. After our little snacks, she carried me upstairs and soothingly placed me on her bed. It was very soft and I fell asleep faster then I ever had before. That's when I got my name. Setsurei she said in a whisper and patted my little head and she kissed me goodnight. :.~

Yup, that was definitely the best day of my life! I can't tell you how much I loved that day!
