Your feet feel weary as you trek for what feels like miles along the rocky mountain side. You had long ago forgotten just why you had decided to scale the mountain, you merely knew that at the time it had seemed a good idea. The sun is high above your head now, surely much higher than when you had left home to head along this journey? You merely shrug your shoulders, never mind the time- you were enjoying yourself.

The path beneath your feet is rugged in some places, so more often than not you found yourself looking down at your feet rather than at the terrain around you. However, you cannot help but look up as you hear the noise of soft hoof beats upon the hard stone. Turning to see behind you, the creature you see is by far unlike any you have ever seen.

Clearly, it was a uni- what with its equine body, and wings- yet its coat! The uni, a young stallion, bore a coat like a leopards fur, a rich golden yellow covered in black spots. His tail is odd, like a donkeys- being more 'hairy' on the end. His mane too, is somewhat different- being more like a fluffy mohawk than anything else.

Upon realizing he had been spotted, the uni instantly recoiled, his face gazing shyly at the ground, and what confidence he held in his shoulders seemed to slump away to nothing.

Oh..um..I, I wasn't expecting anyone..

He stammers shakily, clearly not at ease when it came to speaking with others. You smile politely and after introducing yourself you speak to him saying a few words about how you wished to learn more about him, and that he was by far unlike any uni you had ever seen.

Well..um..if you are interested

He finally says after a moment, sensing his unsure idea of how to begin, you suggest that he relays to you his quick stats- something all pets seem to know by heart. After a moment of silence, he begins telling some of his characteristics.

Species:leopard' Uni
Appearance: Flimsy build- 14 hands high, with a leopard-like pattern, turquoise eyes and a donkey-like tail. Mane is sort of mohawkish.
Voice: Very shy, but at some times strong, Spanish accented
Currently: Sleeping~

You sit thoughtfully taking this all in, such an unusual coat! Surely he must come from exotic land afar- after all, never before had you see anything like it. Noticing your silence he speaks up again, softly saying

Politely telling him that such would be lovely, you wonder about him So shy, and however is he surviving here in the mountains? With his pelt he must stick out like a sore thumb! Mountain Kougras and Werelupes would have to be blind to miss him, and his hooves appear to be more for flat lands- nothing like the mustangs that properly live about here.

Putting your mind back to him, you wonder about what he is to tell you, perhaps he'll tell you more about these leopard unis- is he the only one? Are they made by genetic modification? But rather, it was his own physical traits he spoke of now, hardly anything to do with his strange spotted pelt.

He almost sounds hurt as he says this! Suddenly feeling quite bad for your disregard of him you hastily apologize and urge him to tell you whatever it might of been. Who knows, it could be interesting after all.

I'm sure you have noticed my odd..coat, back on the island I come from, all unis have leopard type patterns, some snow, black, or golden..like mine, it varies. Admittedly it makes us stand out rather terribly, on the island all predators died out centuries ago..

I am, a rather good flyer..if anything. Back home- well.. I could beat anything in an aerial race, even an eyrie- or a draik..I mean um..yea..

While I'm a good flyer..I'm not exactly the worlds greatest runner.my flimsy build just isn't made for running..a human couldn't ride me if he tried..heh.

Because I am an aerial creature, my eyesight is keener than most unis..It might also have something to do with my own sub-species..

Taking this all in, you come to realize that his people must be quite different than other unis. Living on a secluded island, with only themselves to fear- you think that his culture would have to be something to ask about.

But before you can ask, you notice an airex swoop down and land on the crag near the pair of you. Clearly, it knows Seph and is his ally- why his petpet! You realize dumbly as Seph introduces you to it.

Ko! Theres a different sort of name! Perhaps it was a name native to Seph's lands. What a proud looking creature it was! You can't help but wonder how it was that the pair of them came to be friends. An eagle and a horse are an odd duo to say the least. You so think as Seph begins to tell you more about his fine friend in his nervous fashion of speaking.

What interests you? You so inquire, curious as to what likes and dislikes this young stallion had perhaps he held interests of greater remarkable stand than he appeared to. He replies hesitantly, as if worried that you might lash out and strike him for his words. He almost seems a lost child, unsure of where to go or whom to ask for help, bless his heart. As you urge him on, his speaking becomes easier you note, and you begin to wonder just how lost this child was.
