PLAY!

Welcome adventurers young and old here I present to you, knowledge and advice about one of Neopia's newest games, Volcano Run 2, a game filled with hard-hitting enemies and phenomenal rewards. In this guide, I the writer shall explain to you, the readers the basic economy of volcano run 2; truly the most VOLCANIC game around ;).

1 - The Basic summary of the game:

Located deep within the scorching depths of the Tyrannian underground volcanic system, the courageous and fearless Tyrannian Scorchio Glubgar may have met his match, where a host of burning matter has decided to try and obliterate him to pieces
Your mission if you choose to accept it, is to avoid these fiery tempered volcanic themed objects, and escape with your life, and who knows maybe you'll become a top treasure collector on the way.

2 - Instructions:

Use your keyboard and mouse to guide Glubgar through the blazing tunnels of this Atrocious disaster. Click the left mouse button to allow Glubgar to rise, and let go to let him fall. By pressing the 'V' key on the keyboard will make Glubgar zoom through the tunnels and past obstacle, while pressing the 'C' key will slow Glubgar down.

3 - Enemies:

There is a vast amount of different 'enemies' throughout the game; some more infuriating then others, here is the full list:

Fireballs - These are one of the basic enemies in the game, their main objective, is to destroy you. Easy to avoid, needs no extra attention, until later on in the game.

Volcanic rocks - There are not one, but two types of volcanic rocks included in the game, the first, stays completely still, so they are easy to avoid, the second are slighting more advanced, they move, and at different speeds so be careful, they can be the death of you!

Lava Geysers - Later on in the game, these will appear and will become slighting frustrating, they have a set timer of around 3 seconds before they go off, they then withdraw for the same amount of time and repeat, easy to avoid if you use the V and C technique.

4 - Good things:

We've heard of the bad, now witness the good, these are the things that will make your life easier, and maybe even improve your game play ;)

Yellow Gems - 10 points each
Red Gems - 20 points each
Super Shield - 5 Seconds of invulnerability to harm, unless you crash into a rock/fireball/geyser, in which case the shield thus disappears.

The incredibly valuable gems you collect in the game, do not count towards your best distance or distance, they count towards your bonus points, which at the end of the game are added to your actual points (see scoring and techniques).
Once you have 450 bonus points, no more gems appear.
(want more bonus points? read the tips section)

5 - Scoring and techniques:

Well here we go, we are starting off the game, and wondering how to score points and how to survive correct? The scoring system works like so fellow Neopians, at the end of the game when you die, your bonus score, and your best distance is added together to give your final score e.g. Best distance: 500m Bonus: 240 points So my final score shall be 500 + 240 = 740 points, which is also the amount of neopoints I would get, because the Point/Neopoints conversion is 100NP per 100 points score.

How do we start to own at this game' you ask? Well my friends it's very easy, all we need to do is develop a technique, the systematic procedure by which a complex task is accomplished. Basically, it's how we solve a problem. So here are a few:

Fly don't glide - its pretty self-explanatory, just do your best to avoid the obstacles and collect the treasure. Don't allow yourself to die because of some silly distractions, I advise you turn off any music/television/noise in the house and mute the computer if necessary.

Think ahead! - In this technique we use our brains to get an insight into what's coming next, we'll think strategically. Use your first life to gather some distance avoid all the gems/treasure, but if you have to then collect them, Second life, use this to gather the gems/treasure, which add to your bonus score, which gets added with your best distance at the end of the game, remaining lives should be used to try and improve your best distance. This is the technique most used and that's most helpful to people that have tried it.

6 - Rewards:

So now, here is the best section ;) The rewards, for those who have practiced and played, and then survived great feats and led Glubgar through the ravenous tunnels and caves of the Tyrannian volcanoes are presented with treasures beyond there very dreams.

If you have scored 1500+ on this wonderful game You may have a chance of earning your very own TROPHY ;o

You will have definitely of earned a wonderful avatar, unless you have earned it in the original volcano run. And scoring 1000+ points shall have earned you the fabulous title of Grand Master.

7 - Tips

There are a few tips to be aware of before you go start playing Volcano Run 2 you may want to be aware of a code that grants you, a magical power, no not to instantly rule neopia, its a lot better then that... it's a code that grants you, an EXTRA LIFE ;o
Nifty huh? Well the code that grants you this is called Glubgar which you must type anytime in game, and I advise you do it right at the start, just after the game has started.

Well now good luck, I hope my guide has helped, and maybe you'll be up in lights one day ;), maybe if your lucky.

If you are encountering some trouble at 1000+ tunnels then once you are at the beginning of a tunnel, just hold down the V button for a bit, that should give the fireball a bit of time to move out of the way from the middle of the thin tunnel. If not, then just press the X one to speed up and get past the slim part before the fireball gets to the middle of the thinnest part.

Also, once you've reached 1000+ distance in Volcano run 2, everything in screen becomes thin, so there are more tunnels and minuscule amounts of wide open area's.

The Amount of fireballs increase to a ratio of 1 to 3, once you have achieved 450+ bonus points. which makes things considerably harder.

If you time things right and stop at 440, you can sometimes get 2 more groups of gems. Stop at 440, then stick closer to the right side of the screen, once you see gems, brake until you are far left before collecting them, then speed right quickly to hopefully get a second set that have spawned already (because you weren't yet at the max)

(Thanks to playdoh_666, advertises, and garmfay himself for the wonderful tips, and various information)
