  • My Pets are Sick and I don't have money for medecine!
    Go to the
Faerieland Healing Springs every 30 mins with your sick pet as your active pet until your pets are healed. This takes time, but it's FREE and you can get free stuff out of this! :) Also, Also, sometimes the Wheel of Knowledge and Wheel of Excitement can heal your pets. Just have the sick pet as your active pet and give it a spin! This costs NP and can be done less often, though.

    My Pets are starving!
    Have you got your FREE
omelette yet? Feed it to your pets and try buying more. Omelettes and Tombola prize foods (like Box of Triffle Mix and Musho Mushy Peas) are cheap, good food sources! Also, sometimes the Faerieland Healing Springs will feed your pets. NEVER DO EARTH FAERIE QUESTS: they will only feed one pet and will cost a lot more than you if you just paid for food! ONe more thing: don't be afraid to feed your pet gross foods (like Very Rotten Tomato) or spooky foods. They will not harm your pet in any way and they are cheap food sources. Just be fure to avoid Poisonous Lollypop, Poisonous Jelly and Rotten Omelette because those foods will make your pet sick... though they won't effect pets that were sick allready.

My pets are sad. :( How do I fix it?
Buy and play with toys! buy all the toys you can and play with each toy once per pet until the pets are happy again. Cheap toys work just as good as expensive ones. :) Try typing in "quiggle plushie" or "keychain" into the
shop wizard and see what you can find.

I'm poor and need NP. How do I get NP?
That one is covered in my
How to make NP section. :D

How can I add backgrounds/colors to my shop?
The Neopets HTML Guide should tell you everything you need to know about basic HTML. Also, if you want to add pictures, you'll need an image hosting service. I recomend Photobucket.com, it's free and very easy and reliable. Just remeber not to add big pictures or a ton of pictures to your shop: your shop will load slowly and that will drive away customers!

Help! The Pants Devil stole my ______!
If you have something very special you don't want to be stolen you should keep it in your Safety Deposit Box to prevent this. Also, to prevent Ghosts from stealing your NP, keep almost all of it in the bank and donate regularly to the Money Tree.

    I got hacked/scammed. What do I do?
    -blocked-Report the hacker/scammer to Neopets
, then tell everyone what happened so they won't be hacked/scamed either. NEVER GIVE OUT YOUR LOGIN INFORMATION TO ANYONE! The Neopets staff already knows it and doesn't need you to tell it to them, only hackers and scammers will ask. You can learn about a few common scams in my scams section

My question isn't on your page... anywhere!
    Is your answer under the
Neopets help page? I can't tell you everything and I won't tell you all the secrets, but if you neomail me and ask me nicely, I can try to answer your question.

Why are there Dark Faerie pictures on your help page?
Three reasons: I like Dark Faeries, it's part of my IC background (I RP sometimes,
neomail me to play!), and I wanted to prove that you don't have to be fluffy happy-go-lucky all the time to be nice. :)

    How to
    make NP

There are four main ways to make NP: Shops, Games, Trading & Auctions.
Anything else is not really Neopets-legal, so you have very good chances of being reported for it.

    Shops
One simple way to make NP is to run a shop. it doesn't need to be giganitc or fancy, just a place with a shopkeeper you like and plenty of well-priced items. How do you get items? Well, you can get them from aucitons, trades with others, the main shops and other people's shops. What you do is find an item you think you can sell. It can be anything at all, really, people buy the strangest things. Then check it's price on the Shop Wizard. The Shop Wizard gives you an item's market value, the value EVERYONE goes off of to tell how much an item is worth. If the item is going for under Shop Wizard value, buy it and sell it at Shop Wizard value. If not, don't buy it. Main shops and trading are special: you can haggle! Offer the seller a lower price you think is fair and see if they accept it (neomail the seller if trading). If not, then try a higher price, or, if trading for items, ask them what they want for it. You can get good deals this way.

    Games
This is the best source of free NP there is! Go to the Games section and play the game of the day, even if you don't like it: you gain double NP for your efforts! It also pays to have a few good games you love to play daily for NP. Try games that give you 100 NP for each 100 NP scored or more, games that give you less make it harder to gain NP. Avoid Slot machines and The Illusen/Jhudora Quests: they will always rip you off and you'll loose a lot of NP. Always watch your NP carefully with Chance games, it's easy to go broke.

    Trading & Auctions
These are the most people-oriented ways of getting NP. You will need to be polite, fair, and willing to take a bad trade now and then to make friends and gain lots of future good trades. Some people will try to do
scams on the Trading Post, report them and keep trading with other people. Always check the Shop Wizard value of the item(s) you want before you try to get them to make sure you don't get ripped off. Always keep an idea of how much you're willing to pay for something and don't go over it - just because one item is too expensive doesn't mean something better or even the same item at a better price can be found later. The keys to auctions and trading are being paitent, polite, and fair. Keep those in mind and keep trying and lots of good things should start coming your way!

    Other ways
Guild Contests are only borderline legal by neopets standards, so personal contests and "tricking people into giving you free NP and stuff" are definite no-nos. They will get you reported. Also, sometimes asking for NP and items as payment for services like HTML help will get you reported, especially if the "customer" feels ripped-off or realises they paid for what they could have gotten for free. Play it safe and don't try it.

    Common
    Scams

The Neopets Wall of Shame Covers many of the older scams, but there are newer ones that are not covered there, so here are a few warnings on ones they missed.

PUT THIS MESSAGE INTO TEN OF YOUR TRADES AND THEN GO DIRECTLY TO FAERIELAND. THERE YOU WILL FIND 200,000,000 NP'S AND EVERY PAINTBRUSH. THIS CODE IS APPROVED AND WORKS FOR EVERYONE.
    or...
    typethismessageintotenofyourtrades.thengotofairielandandyouwillfind200,000neopointsand everypaintbrushapprovedbyneopets.itworks foreveryone.

This is not approved at all by anyone! This is a nasty mix of Chain Letter and Spamming: it's a chain letter because you're asking others to do it ("type this into") and spamming because you're typing the same message in over and over. This never works nomatter what version of the message you use (there are different ones). If it worked, we'd all be millionaires and Paintbrushes would be very cheap!

Leaving Neopets Forever. Best bid gets my account

If they were really leaving, why would they want your NP and good items? They'd probably just give their old stuff away and let the acount go idle! This is a scam, report them.

    Best bid gets 10 Paintbrushes

When trading, always remember "seeing is believing". If you're not bidding on 10 paintbrushes that are in the lot you are bidding on right now, don't bid on that lot- they are just trying to get you to pay a lot for their old junk. If they say they can't put the Paintbrushes up for trade because of some bug or virus, don't believe them, report them! There is no good reason not to put up the items you are really trading in the trading post: There are no viruses and no bugs. Also, the Pants Devil can not steal anything you have up for trade, the Island Faerie protects your items for you!

Neomail me/go to this page to become rich/get free Paintbrushes!

You can only get rich through lots of work and effort. The scammer will offer a fast way to gain NP or Paintbrushes, but they will ask for your Login information (usually e-mailed to them) or for you to pay to see the information on how to get the NP or Paintbrushes. These people are just trying to get your login information or items. Report them before someone falls for their trap.

    What if I get scammed?

This happens sometimes though it shouldn't, it has even happened to me. If some mean person scams you -blocked- report the scammer to Neopets, then tell everyone what happened so they won't be hacked/scamed either. Don't be mean to the scammer or send out 50 messages on a message board or you'll be reported for Spamming and you will look like a spammer.

    A Few
    Personal Tips

Here are a few little things I've learned while playing Neopets that just didn't fit into any other category. I hope they help!

    1)Play Nice
If you wouldn't want it to be done to you or your little brother/sister, don't do it to anyone else. Chances are it's against Neopets rules and your account will be frozen for it!

2)Don't Work for Jhudora or Illusen
The quests are always rip-offs no matter who you work for. Here's an example: The first quest 5 items for both will sell for about 1 NP (if that much!) but will will pay 30-1000 NP for each item! Also, the more quests you do, the more quests it takes to get stuff and the more expensive the items become. Still really really really want that Honey Potion? Buy it from an auction or from the Trading Post. It's a lot cheaper to pay 400,000 NP than to pay 600,000 NP or MORE to get there!

    3)Don't do every Faerie quest
    Here what the faeries do:
Dark Faerie raises your pet's HP for a toy
Water Faerie raises your pet's Defense for a book
Air Faerie raises your pet's Speed for a grooming item
Light Faerie raises your pet's Level for a Tradng Card
Fire Faerie raises your pet's Strength for a piece ofr Clothing
Earth Faerie feeds ONE pet for an expensive Magic item
Faerie Queen raises everything one point for a rare item
Rainbow pool changes your pet's color for a random item.

If a quest would cost less to have the same effect if you used dubloons or codestones, don't do it. Ex: if it would take 2 dublons to raise a level (cost around 5,000 NP) and the Light Faerie wants a trading card worth 60,000 on the Shop Wizard, don't do the quest. By that logic, NEVER do Earth Faerie quests (food is a LOT cheaper than magic items), do a Faerie Queen Quest if it's worth under the price to raise each stat up by one, and always do a Rainbow Pool Quest unless it wants multiple items that are unbuyable on the shop wizard (worth over 100,000 NP) because paintbrushes are very expensive and often unbuyable.

    4)Make Friends
Talk to people you meet in your guild, on the trading post, or on the Message Boards. Send neomails to people who share common interests or have really nifty pet pages/lookups. Help random people who need advice or information. The more friends you make, the more help you'll have if you need an item for a quest or need to warn others about a scammer. Also, you'll always have a nice, fun friend to talk to, and that is wonderful in itself. :)

    5)Use Common Sense
If it could get you in trouble, don't do it. If it seems too good to be true, it is too good to be true. If it's not hosted by Neopets.com (look at your adress bar at the top of your browser to see) and it's asking for your login information, it's a scam. If the item you want is not the item you are paying for, you will not get what you wanted. If you are paying anyone for anything outside of Auctions, buying an item in a shop, or paying for a trade, you are paying too much: you can always get someone else to do it for free. If you need to know when a Neopet died, ask the morbid Esophagore. As long as you use common sense, you will not be scammed and you can find anything you need (usually for free!)

6)Ask If You Need to Know
Neopets is full of nice people. If you ask around, someone will tell you what you need to know. Don't be shy, some people will be mean, just ignore them and go elsewhere. The Neoboards are a very good place to look for more help. Also, if you are in a guild, try posting on those message boards too! Some guilds have whole areas dedicated to help... kinda like this one!
