Hi, guest! This page is about my beloved dog, Pharaoh. It began this way... By zolopiratehunter(Donami) -a true story Now here are a few adopties reminding me of Pharaoh!
What was happening? I waited. And waited. I looked up at the pale gray ceiling. What were we waiting at the vet's for?
My mind flashed back to the previous years of 1998 and 1999. My fingers were stained maroon with raspberry juice. As I ate another berry, I turned to see a clash of gold and black. My beautiful golden retriever leaped on his black Labrador partner, Zeus. I laughed and cheered for my canine. "Come on, Pharaoh!" The Golden's radiant eyes shone like diamonds would in the sunlight as he looked up at me.
I then looked up at my home, a half a double. My neighbor, Susan, looked through her window and waved at me. I smiled and waved back, noticing the flash of TV that was always behind her.
I snapped back into reality. My mother was trying to control her sobs. She had told me that we were going to say goodbye to Pharaoh. I wondered what she meant. She had also said that he had something called cancer, and that was why he had to go to the "Doggie Hospital.
I sighed and went back to my vived memories of Pharaoh. I was lying down on the floor, waiting for my mother to get off the phone and getting bored doing so. I crawled out on the rug and curled up in a ball like I had seen Pharaoh do so many times before. My eyes started to droop as I felt Pharaoh curling up around me. I was drifting away into another world as Pharaoh's sleek, soft fur wrapped around me. My best friend's warm, wet tongue licked my cheek, and I fell asleep.
My parents got up from their chairs, so I figured I should too. A man in a white suit escorted us to small, beige room with a table in the center. On that silvery table lay Pharaoh, but something was different. His usually glossy, golden coat was now a dull yellow. I also noticed that he wasn't moving. At all. Not even his stomach, which always moved in rhythmic motion when he was asleep.
My mother let go of my hand as I went over to see my dog. "Hi Pharaoh," I whispered calmly. "Where are you going?" My mother leaned against my dad and started to cry again. My father tried to comfort her and whispered softly, "She's only four years old, she won't understand..." I hate it when they say that. They think I'm so naive, just because I'm "four years old." My mother turned to tell me that something I wouldn't understand anyway. "Susie, Pharaoh's gone. He.. went to sleep.. but he won't wake up again..." I stared at her with a puzzled look. "What are you talking about? He's awake, look," I remarked, pointing to his lifeless eyes that stared back up at me without the glow they used to have. "No, Susan," My father murmured. "He's not asleep. He's gone. Gone into another world. A better place. He left in my arms." Huh? I sighed and gave up. "He's not coming back... is he?" I asked quietly. I figured I didn't need an answer, as no one would give me one.
We returned back home to our newly bought house. Without Pharaoh, I decided, I don't have a real home anymore. And, I realized, I left all my other friends behind. Susan, her sister, my other neighbors... now I had no one except my parents and my newborn sister.
I didn't want to show how depressed I was, so I smiled up at my parents and tried to comfort them. "We'll get a new dog. One just like Pharaoh," I promised, though I knew that was impossible.
I walked slowly up to my new room, my vision becoming blurred with tears. I sat down on my new bed as gingerly as a leaf falling to the ground. I had a sudden desire to draw, to illustrate my feelings, an emotion I never had before. I got out a fresh piece of paper, a pencil, and some crayons. My hand suddenly acquired a life of its own. I didn't know what I was creating, or even doing, until my hand finished its performance. On the paper a dog had appeared. A golden dog with lifeless eyes and small, unattached, pale blue wings. A tear that fell onto the paper completed my first masterpiece.
Ever since then I have learned how to express my feelings and emotions through drawing and other forms of art.

My Current Dogs

Griz Bear
Bear is my golden retriever and german shepherd mix. He's really sweet, but a bit too.. playful. He chews on everything, including people. o_O He likes to romp and fool around, and usually causes chaos. I love him to pieces. His birthday is January 25, 2006, and his adoption day is March 25, 2006.

Brindy
Brindy is my little angel. She's the dog in charge. She's very loving and caring, but she doesn't play much. The exact opposite of Bear. I don't know what breed she is, probably some kind of lab mix. You can tell she loves Bear, even if she doesn't want to show it. Her birthday is (probably) September 7, 2000, and her adoption day is July 2, 2003.
