Looking for an artist? Want to see some pictures drawn by the hundreds of excellent artists on Neopets? After some tips on how to draw or colour your favourite Neopets? Look no further!

The Neo Art Directory is your portal to all the art on Neopets, all in one helpful webpage. If you just want to browse, try the links to the right to take you to the section that interests you most. If you're looking for something specific, you could use the ctrl-f function of most browsers to bring up the find menu to search for a user or keywords such as 'anthro' or 'anime'.

The Step By Step Paint Brush

Our site logo, and our linking image is the Step By Step Paint Brush or SBSPB. This picture is a celebration of all the different styles, talents and imaginations that make art on Neopets great.

It is a picture of a paint brush, that great Neopian icon, in a new and special colour: one that progresses through the artistic process from the first idea to the finished picture. At one end it's a sketch, or a doodle, or blocking, or whatever your first step is in creating a picture, and at the other it's a finished work of art!

Because there's no one process that everyone uses to make their art, it isn't one picture at all, but one picture each! Have a look at the Join section below to find out more details about making your own SBSPB.

Here you'll find a list of all the artists in the directory, with links to their galleries, adoptables, tutorials, and any other Neo-related art things they have, as well as a little information on their style and technique.

The artists are displayed in the order they joined the site, although I may reorder them later for fairness' sake. They are, of course, displayed using their SBSPBs.

Join/Submit

Want to join the artist listing, or have something to submit to the rest of the site? Great! This is the section for you.

To join as an artist, you'll need a picture of your SBSPB. The picture should show the development of a piece of art in your typical style. If you have several styles, pick your favourite or just toss a coin. The picture can look like anything you like, provided it is recognisably a paint brush: there is no specific colour or shape that you should use.

The finished image should be no more than 200 x 200 pixels in size and should have either a white background or a white border of roughly 4px and a transparent background. I suggest you don't save your image in the .png file format, as this does not display well in Internet Explorer. Once you've got your picture, upload it to an image host such as PhotoBucket, ImageShack or TinyPic. Note that if you get rid of the http and/or www, you can send the link in a neomail without any spaces.

Send the information on the form below to nerulean. Leave out any lines of the form that don't apply to you, and please only submit links that are on the Neopets website (apart from the image host, which will be off-site).

If you can't make your SBSPB right now but still want to join up, you can use the filler image until you have the means to make your own; just indicate on the form if you want to use it:

After all, a directory that links to things that aren't there isn't much use to anyone XD

To submit a tutorial or an article, please neomail nerulean with the title, URL and description of your tutorial/article, as well as the username you would like it credited to if this is different from the one you are using to neomail.
