Welcome To Mutation Fixation
|

You have made it this far, and I am glad to see you are interested in learning more about mutants, guest. If you are already a mutant pet, or a mutant pet owner... Good to see you! As you can see, I have a Mutant Obsession. I just love mutant pets, they are so different than regular pets. This page here is to show you the nice side of mutants, I am very tired of people not acknowledging mutant pets or showing a bit of affection towards them simply because they are not painted Faerie, or Baby. Mutant pets need as much love, attention and care as any other pet.

My name is Rumproast163,even though everyone calls me Rump, or Rumpy. I wasn't always a mutant pet. I was what most call a mishap at the Lab ray, but, I believe it was fate. I was born a red Kau (hence the name). My mom Blue_7899, was trying to raise my stats and started taking me to see the Mad Scientist that runs the Lab Ray. After many ups and downs in stats, one day I changed species. I became a Cybunny. A few days after that the Fountain Faerie gave my mom a quest, if she could bring her a certain item (which I have no idea what it is, since my mom is hush hush about it), she would change me into any color my mom and I wished. Of all the colors, you may be asking yourself; Why, did we choose Mutant? Simple, we liked it. My mom loves me just the same regardless of what color I am painted, and I am just as special as any other pet. I have a sister Anetsue the Halloween Uni, and a brother Jemi_2 The Mutant Hissi. Also my mom fosters a lot of pets, so we always have an additional pet running around. Mom adopts unwanted pets from the pound, make them pretty (or what others consider pretty, anyways *smirks*, if it was up to her and me they would all be mutant)then sends them back into the world. They usually get adopted out really fast.
Here is a picture of me
I enjoy reading and training. Absolutely love playing games. My current stats are as follow:
This is how old I am (in hours):57962
What Level I am:50
Strength: 87
Movement:78
Defence: 80
Max Hit Points: 104
Current Hit Points:9
Intelligence: 1398
I am a Boy, see?:Gender Male
UPDATE
Since, I missed the days of Grazing in the pastures, running across the fields in Meridell, and as a Cybunny, the best I could do was hop, and slowly walk along my owner.
I was returned to my original form, a Kau. My owner purchased a Spotted Kau Morphing Potion on the 3rd day of the month of collecting, Y7. I now am a Spotted Kauboy!

Definitions: Mutant: a gene that has changed so that the normal transmission an -disallowed_word- 3) possible ways to become a mutant pet.
A. Gain Access to Secret Laboratory
You may not get desired effect and a specific color change is not guaranteed. Warning: Your pet may change species and/or gender.
Neopedia: Secret Laboratory Map
Location : Uncertain; hidden on a remote island
Accessibility : Only those who have gathered all the Secret Laboratory map pieces and found its location can access the ray.
Best Known For : Zapping scared Neopets into who-knows-what
Darkest Deed : The ray is fired at _____...
...and he/she goes down to level 1 :(
Greatest Deed : Robot-coloured Neopets. 'Nuff said.
Quote : "Zaaaaap!"
Somewhere on the outskirts of Neopia,
a remote island hosts the crowning achievement
of a brilliantly deranged mind. Since no one is
really sure of his true name, most call him
"the mad scientist." Every day, hundreds of Neopets
form a queue for a chance to be zapped by his
"Secret Laboratory Ray." Many of those who wait for a zap
from the ray have paid hundreds of thousands of Neopoints
for the privilege, in the belief that its powers could
make them stronger or more beautiful.
The Lab Ray (as it's called) is not all fun and games, though.
Many a Neopet has fled in tears after being weakened,
made hideous, or even gender-swapped. Depending on how
you look at it, the Lab Ray is either a magnificent or
horrific invention.
So, if you've managed to piece together
the Secret Laboratory map and unlock the
island's hidden location, why not visit the Lab Ray
the next time you're up for a bit of mysterious excitement?
Remember though, just one zap per day; it's all a Neopet can really handle.
B. Through a Fountain Faerie Quest This only happens thru a Random Event, if you are fortunate enough to get one, you may have the option to paint your pet mutant. Neopedia does not have an article on the Rainbow Fountain or the Fountain Faerie, but she can visit you thru a Random Event. The Rainbow Fountain will not turn your pet Royal, Robot, or MSP. You have unlimited amount of time to complete her quest, but keep in mind you will not be able to use the shop wizard while on a quest. If you own more than one pet, make sure you set as your active pet whichever pet you will like blessed (painted) before you visit the fountain. Also, if you are the owner of a Buzz, and decide to have your Buzz blessed by the Fountain Faerie, you will receive an the Buzzin Avatar.

C. Use a Transmogrification Potion This potions can be purchased via Trading Post, Players shops or be fortunate enough to receive a visit from Dr. Sloth himself. I have been told you may find one in Kauvara's Magic Shop, but I have never seen them there. The Neopedia does not refer to
Transmogrification Potions in a nice way, it even described its effect into hideous monsters.
Neopedia: Transmogrification Potion
Category : Magic
Suggested Value : 50,000 NPs
Rarity : Special
Size : 4"x2"x2.5"
Weight : 9 fluid ounces
Although their origins remain shrouded in mystery,
the effects that are brought on by the
Transmogrification Potions are stunningly clear.
Should your pet be unlucky enough to drink one of
these concoctions, they will instantly take on a
rather ghastly appearance.
You'll also notice a stark turn for the worse in their
attitude: the warm and loving pet you once knew will have
been replaced by an embittered cynic.
According to Kauvara, owner of the magic shop which
accidentally distributed the potions,
she had received a visit from a mysterious
stranger who claimed that the Transmogrification Potions
were the most phenomenal elixirs to ever hit the market.
Deciding to purchase a small batch to see how well they sold,
Kauvara was stunned when she learned that the dreaded potions
were turning her customers into hideous monsters.
Despite efforts to educate the general public about the
harmful effects of the Transmogrification Potions, cases
involving pets whose owners didn't know any better continue
to pop up each day. It is important that that all Neopians
get the facts about these potions and their gruesome effects.

Regardless, of what many people may try to say while advertising their items, at the Trading Post. Mutant food will not turn your pet mutant. As far as it is known, there are only three (3) ways for this to happen, and it is mentioned in a paragraph above.
Yes, mutated food looks disgusting, but some is not really that bad. Did you know the drippy stuff on a mutant doughnut it's actually Lime cream filling that it is spilled on top of the doughnut as it is baked? does that sound disgusting to you? See, it is not all bad. Below are all the mutant foods available right now. In case you want to purchase one and give it a try. My personal Favorite, Mutant Doughnut!

No mutant pet is entirely complete to go on a stroll thru the sidewalks of Neopia, without a companion. They are all beautiful...and mutant!
Harris, Gruslen... so many of them just can't make up your mind, can you? For your enjoyment and so you can truly appreciate the beauty of a mutant petpet, here are pictures of them:

You can transform any of the Petpets (above) by purchasing a Mutant Petpet paint brush, or being fortunate enough to get such result from the Petpet Lab ray. Warning: By zapping your Petpet, it may turn into a pile of soot or it may dissapear forever.

Mutant Petpet Paint Brush

I can not emphazize enough the beauty that mutant pets posses. Below are portraits of each available species painted mutant. They are so different, Koi with his/her three(3)eyes, and the Hissi with his/her two(2) heads, and the beauty of a Draik, looks like a dragon watching over they're owner. Mutant pets, are the same as any other. Treat them well and they will be very loyal and loving.

A mutant pet can not be without some sort of mutant furniture in their Neohome. Some, erhmm okay, okay ALL is slimy, but I must say rather comfortable. In all honesty, I believe my sofa may have teeth, since more than once chuncks of my tail have gone missing after I have sat there long enough. On the plus side, the mutant door mat, will eat the mud right off your shoes... Be careful it might eat your shoes too. But if you want to scare an unwanted guest or you enjoy a slimy comfy sofa or bed, Mutant home decor is for you. Below I have added some pictures of the available furnishings, just in case you want to give it a try.
Disclaimer: Not responsible for any chuncks of fur, shoes or items lost to or eaten by this furniture.

The Neopets Team has given us a variety of items to commemorate (celebrate) mutation, and mutant pets. But, there is only one way to offer the ultimate compliment to mutant pets. Own one, and be proud of him/her. They love you no matter what their color.

My Favorite Plushie
What other plushie did you think I would like? Come on!

On 25th -26th day of Hiding, Y6 (25 - 26 AUGUST 2004) Mutant Day was added to the Neopian calendar. On that day, many pet owners logged on to find their beloved pets, turned mutant. Only pets that had a choice of being painted mutant were changed. Many pets were thrown into the pound, (what a horrible thing to do). It turned out to be one of TNT's famous pranks. Many owners were horrified, while others knowing TNT at times likes to play tricks on us, didn't fret. Many of them were relieved to find out it was just a joke, and they were very happy to see their pets turn back to their normal form after it was over.

Around Neopia there are some items, that may not be considered mutant, but they should. There is just a different aura, quality about them. We need more mutant items to fill our homes and for pets to play with. These will do for now, until more are released.

Thank you goes to all my friends. You guys know who you are, you are the best! Graphics in this page were made using MS Paint, nothing fancy but lots of effort and research were put in it.
Uhmmmm... you are still here? Why aren't you at the Trading Post looking for a good deal on a Transmogrification Potion? *tsk, tsk* Go, get one and have the joy of owning a mutant pet, or maybe two (2).
