FRIENDLY PT TEAM RACE
The original PT Race concept was initiated, organised and run by roweslab.
There are no stakes involved and this friendly PT race is NOT an official
Neopets function. It is NOT a contest, there is no entry fee and no prizes. It
is just a group of friends from the PT board, organized into teams, playing
for bragging rights and having fun in the process. Many of the players have
gotten a bit bored with the game, and this friendly race adds some
excitement back into the game for participants and spectators as well.

History.. How it started? How is it conducted?
Back in May 2006, Rob challenged Gary, April & Minty to a race where their combined final score would be pitted against his final score for that month. It ended with Gary+April+Minty scoring 35 million vs Rob's 34 million.
The simple idea and concept was then extended.. with that, we had the very first
PT Team Race in June 2006.
Teams are composed of both experienced and successful players, which are balanced mathematically so as to even them out by use of a multiplier.
Each team are assigned a multiplier based on the strength of the players in the respective teams.
Team scores will be final scores of it's members added together when the month ends, multiplied by the number assigned to the team. Any player not making the top 400 list will have a score of zero.

What are the rules?
Entering this race implies your agreement to race all month, and gives permission for your username to appear on this petpage.
While real life may get in the way occasionally, do note that this is just a game.
Winning or losing is immaterial so long as we all enjoyed the process. Past races have enabled many to get to know each other better and many new friendships were forged.. and new personal high scores attained too.
No new participants nor replacements will be allowed after the new game starts. The final team selection will be posted as soon as possible after the game starts. There will be no substitutions or withdrawals after the game starts.
In order to play, you are required to have a high score of at least three million and have been successfully playing for at least two months. You must also be willing to play on any team for which you are chosen.
Players would need to report their sellout values to their team captains:
Sellout value = store + warehouse - shipping cost + cash on hand.
The estimated value of plushies in the warehouse would be a guesstimate.
Those players playing during the day NST, will know their sellout number long before 10:02 pm NST, and should send it in to their team captains as early as they can.
The numbers need not be calculated to the last np but should be as accurate and honest as possible.

This race started with a bunch of glitches and random bankruptcy which seems to have been taken care of.
A new captain.. a new team.. The kikos from Kiko Lake seems to be rather formidable.

The Mysterious Islanders gather their acts together and dashed to the finishing line, bypassing the Kreludan grundos with a huge margin.
The Kreludan grundos had to settled for 2nd place after leading the race for the entire month.
Meanwhile, the Darigans barely holds on to the 3rd place with a small margin of 0.22% over the VSS grundos.

Taxman and clogged warehouse are creating some problem for the Kreludan grundos as they struggled to stay ahead.
The hula-ing Islanders seemed to have had too much fruit punch and wobbled down to 3rd spot.
And the fierce Darigans continues to claw upwards.
Are the VSS grundos a spent force? Would they make a come back towards the finishing line? Stay tuned..

The grundos seemed to have celebrated a tad too early.
Mysterious Islanders hula-ed their way to second spot.. sending the grundos from VSS down to third position.
Meanwhile, the Darigans are still fighting high prices and waiting for the right moment to pounce.

And so.. the Green Grundolicious Team wins the race as they promised with their constant " rules" war cry. Their blue counterpart tried to salvage the damage done by the atrocious taxman but could only move up one rank to the 4th spot.
The Red Robots Team rallied together at the final lap but alas, it was a little too late and they finished at 2nd spot.
The Purple Prowler Team stayed where they were and ended at the middle of the pack.
As for the Rainbow Renaissance Team, some miscalculation on warehouse loading left a fair bit of plushies in their warehouse and store. From the race chart, they have the most symmetrical movement in the race.

Taxman sure did a lot of difference to the standing this time round. The top two racers from the Blue Faerie Grundo Team were badly hit. Meanwhile, three racers from the Green Grundolicious Team will be meeting the taxman on the 30th. Would their warehouse unclog? Would their store sellout? Only time can tell.
The Rainbow Renaissance Team made a surprise leap over the other teams and landed on the 2nd spot.

The grundos continue to hog the top and second spot. Meanwhile the Red Robots Team are determined to spoil their early celebration.
The Rainbow Renaissance Team started moving up and left the Purple Prowler Team back at the cellar.
From the look of things, the race is definitely not over yet. With the recent server down for over 4hrs and bad lag going on, its would impact everyone's plan on tax evasion.

Meanwhile, the Purple Prowler Team showed that they do have a few tricks up their sleeves and are back to the 3rd place.

Every team decided that they disliked their ranking at the previous standing.
The Red Robot Team seems to be taking a breather and has slipped to 3rd place.. or are they getting rusty from those wet snowballs flung by the Blue Faerie Grundo Team, or are their mechanical joints getting stuck together from those Lime Jelly flung by the Green Grundolicious Team?
Meanwhile, the Purple Prowler Team has had enough of prowling in the cellar and has swapped places with the Rainbow Renaissance Team.
Will there be any surprise manuveurs by both the Purple Prowler Team and the Rainbow Renaissance Team?

The Red Robot Team continues to charge ahead, building plushies non-stop round the clock with their robots. Sooner or later they would need to stop and oil those robots. And so, they continue to lead the race.. for now.
The Green Grundolicious Team surrounded the Purple Prowler Team with lots of Giant Green Kelps over the last two days and took over the 3rd spot.
But the star of this round is the Blue Faerie Grundo Team who overcame all obstacles and powered their way to second place. The grundo plushies made by both grundo teams finally hit the market and is currently on the top of the supply list. |

With Allison being the strongest member among the 29 racers, she did well under Captain Nicky's charges in leading the Red Robot Team to an impressive first place standing. They seem to be the fastest with the push off the button.
The two grundo teams are anchored at the bottom of the table. Were they misinformed into thinking that the race is about making and selling the most grundos?
