Let the Drums Roll Out
WELCOME TO THE SHOW, FOLKS
Hello. This is Shan, and welcome to Roll the Marble. Back in '09, I had a page named Roll the Marble. Unfortunately, I closed it down, but I recently decided to bring it back. Now, I know everyone hates intros, but I need to make this clear: I'm not gonna go and say, Oh, I'm not here to bash anyone, blah blah blah. Nobody likes a softie. Maybe I will, maybe I won't. Only time will tell. What I will do, though, is tell the truth. Nobody likes a liar, either. So, buckle up, because the marble is rolling.
ATTENTION!

Wake Up and Smell the GC

If you haven't noticed, the GC isn't as dead as it used to be. Promising guilds are popping up, upcoming guilds are underway, and gossip pages are getting better. Personally, I have hope for the GC. Maybe this is our year, like 2012. Maybe we're encountering a New Age. Anyway, here are the upcoming guilds and some info on them.
The Masterplan: Is anyone even still working on this guild? I haven't seen any hype or even talk of this guild's release date. Are there still owners working on this guild? They've been planning for quite some time now. I suggest you guys get going before other new guilds leave you in the dust.
Zone: Zone is an upcoming guild owned by Shanno, Jonni, Patrick, Ruthie, Kathie, Lexie, Ako, Kalilah, Dani, and Dylan. I talked to Dylan about the guild and he explained what the style of the guild was. The main owners are Mayors and the co-owners are City Council. The guild is like a city, where members 'work' during the day and 'come out to play' at night. He didn't tell me what happens at night, but he did say it was delicious. ;)
NOTE: Guild was removed by request.
A gossip page that recently opened is Here Lies Scandal. I have to say, this just might be my favorite gossip page. It's clean, it's straight-forward, and it's honest. The owner, whom I call Scandal, isn't vicious or unnecessarily rude, just truly honest. In fact, I like him. I think this page will be just what the GC needs: a little fire, but not a forest blaze.
Another thing I'd like to address is the whole Erin/Marc
revelation. I think it was brave of Erin to reveal who she was. And the update of The Dope Show wasn't conceited,
it was strictly factual and explained what the truth was. I think she's extremely nice, and her gossip page is one of the best. She is
loved all over the GC and I really genuinely like her, no matter what her name is. (:

I felt that it was time to comment on the Dani and Ako situation. I believe that what Ako did was right and wrong, as was how the owners handled it. One thing I would like to know is if Ako ever talked to the other owners before confronting Dani. If not, I think she put them in an unnecessary awkward place. I also praise her for being straightforward and honest with Dani. If I were her, I would want the truth, no matter how harsh. I also would like to add that the owners, Shanno in particular, did the right thing, but at a great cost. In removing Ako and Dani from the guild, now many people see Zone as a lost cause due to ~drama~. I have to say that I strongly disagree with this. Every guild has its own drama. GCers like you and myself know that all too well. I think it's unfair to give up on this guild because of a resolved issue. Ako has no hard feelings to the guild owners, Dani and Ako have made up, and the issue is overwith. The fact that the guild owners got over this speedbump and have no intentions of giving up at the sight of a problem only proves that this guild is not a lost cause, but rather a great cause. I have a great belief in this guild. The theme is unique, the owners are talented, and most importantly, they all want the best for the guild.
Bits and Pieces

There's not much going on right now, so I'm just gonna ramble on about the little things that have happened on the GC. Oh, and sorry about the lack of updates. I was grounded. ;)
TNT, lemme just say: You annoy the crud outta me. HV recently got deleted twice because it was deemed 'inappropriate' by TNT. What is inappropriate about a hotel, or veinard? A slight possibility I thought of was the combination of words. Many members touched upon the 'hotel' theme being inappropriate, but another member also pointed out that 'veinard' translated to lucky. Maybe TNT thought the combination of 'hotel' and 'lucky' was inappropriate? Y'know, the term 'getting lucky'? I dunno, just a thought.

In other news, Roulette shut down. Trina says that we have became very inactive and not many members are trying to become active. No one really comes to chat in the guild anymore. I have to say that I agree. I was in Roulette, and Trina, a few others who occasionally popped on, and myself were really the only ones ever on. But I really am sad to see this guild go. I had a great time in it. If you're like me and you miss this guild already, have no fear! Trina said in a post on the guild boards, I will be making a new guild in the future not sure when exactly though. But Roulette was fun while it lasted. Hopefully my next guild will last even longer. Can't wait for your next project, Trina! ^^

Looking for a good lol? Well, then take a peek at James page, GC LOL Hall of Fame. Basically it just captures random funny moments on the GC. But I think a lighthearted page like this should lift the mood of the GC: serious. Speaking of serious, I'd like to offer a piece of advice to you GCers. Don't take the GC too seriously. If someone insults you, or people don't pay attention to your page, or you're not high up on the GC Pyramid, it's not the end of the world. The GC is a place to basically just let loose and join a guild. Even though it's morphed into something more than a place to find a guild, don't let this go to your head. No, there's no specific reason why I'm saying this, I just feel like it needs to be said. GC = Guild Chat, not Gossip Central. ;)
**EDIT: James' account has been suspended and his page has been wiped, but his new page is located here. Enjoy.
Nadia's page, Humble, was recently wiped because someone reported her. Her account was suspended, but she says that her style sheet was saved. Hopefully she'll have Humble up and running soon. I wonder who reported her... Was it the same report-happy who got many GCers a few days ago? Or maybe someone she talked about on her page finally had enough and reported her? Hopefully, we'll find out.

If You're Gonna Lie, At Least Do It Well

After about a week of dead GC, I can see the GC's hiatus is over. Thankfully, there's a lot of different things for me to gab about. So, for all of you gossip-deprived GCers, here's an update. ;)
So, we all know the anti-GC GCer Karma. Her page expresses her disapproval for the GC, and basically makes a big joke out of it. But we all already know this. That's not the interesting part. The interesting part is that Karma is anonymous, and I think I have a few good guesses as to who she might be. I was talking to a fellow GCer, and the subject of who the Does are. The theory that they were Jas came up, and I neomailed them asking if they were in fact Jas. I didn't get an answer, but I'll keep an eye on them. I was looking at Karma's page, and I remembered something from a while ago. I noticed that the pattern they chose to use reminded me of a pattern Jas had used for a page for Microwave, an old guild Jas had been planning on opening in '09. Then I neomailed Karma asking if they were Jas, because personally, I think they remind me more of Jas than the Does. Thankfully, shortly after that, I got a neomail back.

After that last neomail, I sent her a neomail saying how Nadia was on my board, and that when Nadia said she'd be right back, Karma temporarily stopped answering my neomails, and when Nadia came back, she started answering me again. But, strangely enough, after this neomail, she stopped answering me. Convenient much? I'd also like to add that I didn't really think Karma was Clickie, I was just throwing out random names to throw her off and to make her reveal who she really was. Another piece of evidence that Nadia may in fact be Karma is that once while I was on a GC board, I mentioned Karma, and Nadia chimed in saying that she loved her, and that she reminded her of herself. Like the title of this update says, if you're gonna lie, do it well.
So a few new pages popped up. Imagine Dani is Cool, made by Nadia, is one of them. All I have to say is that I like the CSS. Another new GC page is 404 GC. Nothing special. Look out for Flavored GC, another possible upcoming GC page. Sounds interesting. The GC could use some spice. And last but not least Grapevine is on a possible permanent hiatus. Honestly, I don't get the random outrage. Who owns this page, anyway? And what happened to them that set them off? If anyone knows the answer, I'd love to know.

Boldness is a mask for fear, however great.

Hello, GC! Sorry about the lack of updates, I've been surprisingly lazy lately. But from now on I'll try to update and stop being lazy. Remember, I said I'll try. No promises. ;)
Okay, so I know what you're wondering: What up with the quote? Well, I just wanted to make a point about anonymous GC page owners. Being anonymous is a rather cowardly thing to do, in my opinion. Most of the time, anonymous GC page owners act rude, nasty, and have no regards to anyone but themselves. I think a point has to be made, that we all think, but don't have the guts to say: You don't have to be this way! Take Erin and Anna for example. Erin was never unnecessarily mean or rude as Marc, and Anna wasn't either. On the other hand, some other anon owners, who shall not be named, are always picking fights to make themselves look intelligent. This is not the way to go! True, they are right most of the time, but must you do it in such a socially unacceptable manner? Try being a little nicer. It never hurt anyone. Being blunt and rude will get you nowhere in life. Especially if you don't have the decency to say it as your true self and not hide behind secret identities in order to get your opinions across.
Speaking of anonymous GC pages, two identities were recently revealed. The ever-loved/hated Karma is, in fact, Clickie. Theresa, AKA, 'the GC Police', was right from the beginning. After my last update about Nadia being Karma, Theresa had suggested that Karma was Clickie. Silly me, I didn't believe sweet little Clickie could be Karma. But I was wrong. Oh well, we all make mistakes. And, of course, Scandale turned out to be Anna. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I do recall Theresa suspecting Anna of being Scandale. Good work, Theresa! (y)
Okay, so am I the only one kinda impatient about all these spiffy new guilds that are supposed to be coming out? I've been waiting for TMP, Zone, Tonic, etc. etc. for a while now. Can summer come already?? I think someone should open their guild early so they can get the ball rolling, y'know? Like some random dude Ralpho Waldo Emerson says, How much of human life is lost in waiting.
I also want to add that ERIN SHOULD GET TDS UP AND RUNNING. I don't really care how ~*~pretty~*~ the layout is, I just want some GOOD GOSSIP. I mean, look at Skye. Her gossip page has no layout, yet people still check it on a daily basis. It's what's on the inside that counts. And quite frankly, there's nothing on the inside!! I also really really hope that Anna keeps HLS going. I really enjoyed your updates. Please, don't die on me. All of the GP's that are out there never update anymore. Myself included. What's happeing to the GC?? Don't let people like the Does and Nadia take over the GC. Take a stand.
In conclusion, I'd just like to add that our fun is over. Anonymous Rants was deleted, and all that remains is a summary. Well, we all saw this coming. It was fun while it lasted. But, two comments: 1, Matt is not disliked, in my opinion, and 2, STOP PICKING ON DYLAN. Alright. Well. I'm done now. Adios.
Boring Updates: 2 Flags. Because I'm Chuck: 6 Flags. More flags, more fun.
Posted by Shan May 20th, 2010, 4:28NST
So, a new page, Because I'm Chuck, opened. I must say, I know that this page is one of the best ones out there right now. I happen to really like it. As for who the owner might be, people think that they are Milou. I kind of doubt this, but anything is possible on the GC nowadays, so you never know. I personally think that we have to watch out for signs of it being Clickie. The first sign of it possibly being Clickie is that Clickie is known for obsessing over Gossip Girl. Wouldn't it be fitting for someone known to make anonymous gossip pages to make a gossip page based on a character from her favorite show? Despite who the owner might be, I think this just might be my new favorite gossip page.
Not to be boring and monotone, but there's not much to update on, so I'll write about this new page, Board 8. I like the usage of pictures, and it gives good arguments and evidence. It's a good read for unspoken issues, like the sudden hostility towards Clickie. Why the hate? Personally, I love Clickie. But I love everyone... Well, almost everyone. ;) But on a serious note, the GC is like a fridge with magnets on it. One person (the fridge) has a sudden dislike for someone, then the next thing you know, a bunch of other people have a problem with this person. In other words, they're just magnets sticking to the fridge. I think the GC needs to realize not everything that happens here is ~srs bsns~. I think we all need to let loose and stop the shunning. And, keep in mind, it's not horrible to be friends with someone who isn't particularly liked. You can have a mind of your own, even on the Internet.
I feel I should comment on Flavored GC. The whole Sugar, Spice and Mint thing doesn't make much sense, since there's only one person now, the colors can be hard to read sometimes, and they remind me of Harry Potter, or Halloween, and it's kind of boring. Basically it just talks about everything everyone else talks about. I would suggest making Sugar talk about things on the lighter side, Spice offering ~saucy~ opinions, and Mint digging up dirt. That would make it slightly more interesting, in my opinion. Just try to make it your own, Dani.
And last but not least, a good lol.

TNT finally got it right.
Extra! Extra! Read All About It!
Posted by Shan May 24th, 2010, 4:54 NST
A few things have been happening around the GC. For starters, a new page called Loser Gossip opened. I think that this page is kinda pointless, if you ask me. Another angry random unknown GCer trying to get Neo-fame by opening a ~*~*witty*~*~ page. By the way, it's not witty. I find pages like this obnoxious. Nobody wants to listen to you rant! I mean, you call your page Loser Gossip like all gossip page owners are losers who have nothing better to do, yet here you are, owning a gossip page. What gives? Stop acting like you're too good for the GC, because, quite frankly, you're not.
In bigger news, Tonic opened recently. I must say, I really like it! The layouts are fantastic, the guild is active, and the Activities are extensive. I really just hope all of the owners stick together and the guild lasts long. Usually I'm not a big fan of anything associated with Hiro, but surprisingly, I happen to like this guild. The website would have to be my favorite part. The activities are fun, the little tidbits of information about the owners makes them seem like more than just members of authority, and the layout is very appealing. Overall, the guild has had a great start, and I hope it lasts.
I was reading GBU when I noticed her story about Katie. I'm not writing about the story, though. I really didn't understand it, to be quite honest. What I'm writing about is this girl's talent! I was looking at her portfolio, and she has some great potential. Instead of getting involved with gossip pages and scandals, I highly suggest you pursue a graphic career. You would be very good at it, my dear! Seriously, a breath of fresh air is what the GC needs, and I think she can bring it.
Alright, so we all know, some of Zone's layouts were leaked. From what I saw of them, I'd say that the layouts aren't that bad. I just wish they fit their city theme better. Hopefully, the layouts we haven't taken a peek at will be a step above these, but I'm not saying the ones that I saw were bad, I just think they could be, and should be, much, much better. Also, there has been some speculation that they were leaked on purpose. Somehow, I doubt this, but you never know, with the GC these days. It just seems like something these owners in particular wouldn't do. But, we'll just have to see.
I'm Late, I'm Late, For A Very Important Date!
Posted by Shan May 29th, 2010, 3:39 NST
Sorry I haven't updated like I said I would. School and extracurricular activities had taken over this past week. This is why I hate myself for missing the grand opening of The Masterplan. Honestly, this guild is one word: perfection. The grand opening layout is catchy, the website is organized and gorgeous, and there are plenty of things to read and look at. They're advertising like there's no tomorrow, and it seems like they're extremely active. My only worry is that normal GCer's, AKA, the ones we don't know, will be intimidated to join this guild. Is this guild limited to the GC scene, or will it branch out to the entire GC? Only time will tell. But, I have to say, this guild is brilliant. A job well done. I have deemed TMP the 'It' guild of the GC. I say it is a good thing they decided to open early because all of the other guilds that haven't opened yet now have some serious competition, between TMP and Tonic. Let the games begin.
OMG. I think I just might cry. Here Lies Scandal has CLOSED. Anna, you let me down. I convinced her in a neomail to keep HLS going, but no! She went and kept it for about a week, and then shut down. All I want to know is, why? And who will replace HLS as the favorite gossip page of the GC? Personally, I think Board 8 has the potential to, if Revy would update more. Either that or maybe Georgie's page. First it was TDS, then it was HLS, so who will be next? I'll be keeping an eye on who it could be.

Okay, so 2 new pages I'm seeing right now. Not from Concetrate, owned by Jas and Dylan, and GC Dish, which is anonymous. When I first saw NFC, I was a bit wary that it would be a mindless anonymous gossip page. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was, indeed, owned by Jas and Dylan. I think Jas and Dylan are the most unexpected pair, but they're also the most perfect pair. They're both, and I quote from Jas, cold, ruthless, and logical. Honestly, I like this page. It brings harsh but honest opinions, and a fresh view on things. I am looking forward to their next update. As for the other page, GC Dish, I am not as pleased by it. As I expected from NFC, GC Dish is a mindless anonymous gossip page. It basically says everything we already know. If this is what they call dish, then the GC is already crumbling, just when it started getting interesting.
Speaking of NFC, on their first board, trouble struck. When Angie discovered that Jas and Dylan had been over-inspired by an old page of hers, she got annoyed and called them out on it. Jas seemed genuinely surprised that Angie reacted in that way, and Dylan stepped up, saying he had asked her on Emesen, and that she hadn't replied. Angie then went on to say that she was only upset because they hadn't asked, but she wouldn't have minded if they did. Jas said he would make it up to her, and it was basically over. Not anything too major, but still something surprising to me.
A Day in the Life Of...
Posted by Shan June 7th, 2010, 2:06 NST
Okay, so because there isn't much to update on, I'm going to take the names of some GCers and tell you how I think they spend their days. If you're not on here, don't tell me. Not everyone is gonna be. ;-)ANGIE: First, she wakes up to birds chirping and hipster music blasting from her alarm clock. She slips on her hipster glasses and her Vans. Then she feeds some Kads and makes cute hipster boys cry over her beauty. She giggles over some hilarious inside joke, shares her wit, and makes us wonder why she's so sweet. The end.
KRYS: She wakes up next to Dylan, wearing one of his Led Zeppelin t-shirts. She quickly changes and leaves before he wakes up. She leaves and goes to Business School to charm all of her professors and classmates. She goes back to Dylan's house, *cough**cough*etc.etc.'s him, and runs off to work to disappear for the rest of the night. Finally she comes home and drinks 897892789 gallons of water. The end.
JAS: He wakes up next to Dylan, wearing one of his Led Zeppelin t-shirts. He quickly changes and leaves. He runs into Krys on the way out and tips his hat. He hops onto a magical unicorn and flies off to Jas Land. He skips around with unicorns, eats rainbow-flavored ice cream, and is home by 7 sharp to cook his mother, Angie, dinner. She beats him with a wooden spoon until he makes a perfect meat loaf. The end.
DYLAN: He wakes up on the subway, a notebook and guitar in hand. He flips his hair and struts to some posh little coffee shop. He bats his eyelashes at the waitresses and gets free coffee and a vegetarian dish. He reads from the Great Book of Random Facts and stores away information. Then he meets up with his boyfriend Hanz and his purple poodle in CVS. They purchase glitter stickers and a scrapbook to complete together. They go home to do a photo shoot complete with bikinis, ice cream, and high heels to ready his career as a model for Pink. The end.
CLICKIE: She wakes up and changes out of her Gossip Girl pajamas, complete with matching slippers and a sleeping mask. She kisses the Nate posters covering her wall and eats a bowl of Nate and Blair shaped cereal. She then turns on the TV, watches Gossip Girl, and obsessively chats on Nate and Blair Forever forums about Nair lasting forever and ever. The end.
THERESA: She wakes up in a quiet apartment on 5th Street in Manhattan. She throws on her tan overcoat and her pipe and grabs her notepad and her magnifying glass. She then proceeds to snoop around guilds and petpages, making accusations about who is who and what is what. She collects clues such as behavior, fonts, and graphic similarities. She checks off her clues in her notepads and makes suspect lists. She consults her assistant, AKA, the GC, and makes her suspicians public. Then she is right and her work is rewarded by moving her to the top of the GC Pyramid. The end.
And that's all for today. If you have an idea for some more, shoot me a neomail. These are surprisingly fun!
In other news, Lo has a new guild called Project 100C, which is about, in her own words, everything good in the world, it has no meaning. nor does it need anything to define it, just beauty is all. Sounds, erm, interesting. Nah I'm kidding. It seems like a pretty good laid-back chat guild, if you're into that, which a lot of GCers are, I think. She says she doesn't want members, but join anyway and have a barrel of fun.
And... I guess that's all for today. Well, um, bye!
Is the GC really poop?
Posted by Shan June 17th, 2010, 2:09 NST
According to someone strongly against TCing, PitchaPitcha, the GC is poop. They believed this was because of TC, and made a page, Stop TCing. I highly doubt the GC is poop because of TC, but it seems like the GC is slowly going back into a dung-y stage. Two much-anticipated guilds, Tonic and TMP, closed within mere weeks of their opening dates. Why? Perhaps it is because the GC is, in fact, poop. Also, take a look at the gossip page aspect. Not many gossip pages (including myself) are updating as frequently as they should! What's happening to the GC? Is it really turning to poop, or are all of PitchaPitcha's sobbing smilies getting to my head?
Another page has been opened, in an attempt to make something known. Contrary to the Stop TCing page, I actually agree with this page. The Catfish Project, owned by Maddey (thiscity), is about bringing the catfish smilie back. All you need to do is whenever you make a GC board, include a *catfish* smilie. Or, even better, do this AND put a catfish smilie on your lookup and a link to TCP, cuz we're bringing catfish back.
What the GC, brought to you by Mozart and Beethoven, two (or one?) anonymous aliases. This page's first update was pretty entertaining, especially the part about the Does. Too bad it was false information. :-( Anyway, I just wish they would update more! And I also wish I knew who owned it. But, as they say, wishes don't always come true.
So, we all know of the hipster-triangle trend bombarding the GC. My opinion? I have to agree with Georgie (barneyville) on this one. YOU. ARE. NOT. HIPSTER. What you are, though, is guido. What is a guido, you say? You can find any and all information about guidos here. It is time for a new age on the GC. So trade in your plastic glasses for sunglasses and your khakis for sweatsuits.
Okay, this is really late, but you've surely heard by now that The Masterplan closed recently. My thoughts on this are that I had hoped that it would prove the GC's mindsets wrong and actually be a good-quality lasting guild. Even though it didn't, I'd say that TMP was, in fact, a success. Like a lot of other guilds, TMP closed mainly because the owners were just too busy with school and such. This is why, I think, most guilds are waiting for the summer. Summer is a time when guilds can really be active and unique and blossom into great things. We'll see what summer of '10 brings us soon enough!
And, last but not least, if you liked my last update when I did a few 'A Day in the Life Of...'s, please neomail me voting whether I should make a whole page of these, where I would do many more of these for other GCers. I am fully willing and able to do this. The only issue I have is that I would need someone to make me CSS. If you can do this for me, please let me know. Thanks!
Forever we will stay, like a Pyramid.
Posted by Shan June 24th, 2010, 12:56 NST
I noticed that the GC Pyramid went through a major change. New GCers were added, and old GCers were removed. For the most part, I agree with it. Here are my edits, Revy. Theresa is still too high, Krys is too low, Revy is too high, as are Matt, Lia, and Anita. But, I must admit, despite my pickiness, I do happen to like it a lot more than before.Whoa, I think Sky reached their limit! Sky had been seen criticizing TMP and saying that the guild was laughable. The guild was hardly laughable, in my opinion, and the owners agreed, which is why they got extremely defesive towards Sky. Sky apologized for it on Sky Writing, but did not take it back. I say the apology was well-deserved, and I'm beginning to wonder... Is Sky's head getting as big as the sky itself? I understand that Sky Writing is udated frequently and is read by many, but having a popular page doesn't give you the right to call well-liked guilds laughable, when you have no knowledge of guilds yourself. That's all I have to say on the matter.
Since there's not really a go-to guild on the GC right now, I thought I'd offer some advice on which guild to join. Leya, among others, are the owners of this private, semi-literate, applications-only guild, 4AM. You must...
~ Be 15+ years of age.
~ Be at LEAST semi-literate.
~ Have a nice font.
~ Be guildless.
So, if you're interested in 4AM, check out their webbie for more information, a peek at the guild's layout and requirements, and the application. Hope you like the guild!
One last note! Nadia updated Humble today, and I must say that I love it. The update was witty, and the advice might actually work! Glad to have the not-so-humble Humble back. Keep it up Nadia! And, PS, I still need someone to make CSS for me! Please let me know if you can!
THE guild account revealed!
Posted by Shan June 28th, 2010, 6:26 NST
So, using my detective skills, (haha Theresa!) I have found THEs guild account, a guild owned by Nadia.
Clue 1: Nadia's infamous clever usage of illiterate symbols to radiate sarcasm.
Clue 2: Nadia loves rock music. DEAD GIVEAWAY.
Clue 3: Nadia loves faeries.
Nuff said.
On the topic of THE, Nadia said today THE was going to open... It's 9:40 at night (in NY of USA) and still no THE. Is THE a dissapointment already? We'll find out soon enough!
UPDATE:
Okay, number one, the whole THE guild account thing is a joke. Just so you know. And number two, THE is a dissappointment. I won't even provide a link, I'm so dissappointed by it. I'll spare you the boredom of it's flaws and just leave you with one comment: 20 MINUTES.
THE End
Posted by Shan June 1st, 2010, 8:27 NST
As you may have heard, THE closed yesterday. What happened was, Zach had been considering closing THE, posting on a GC board that he wanted to close THE because it hadn't turned out the way he wanted it to. After receiving positive feedback, he went on to close THE by himself, because Nadia was not on at the time. To ensure that Nadia would not re-open the guild, he deleted her from the guild. She was upset by this, naturally. All I have to say is, if you want a guild to last, you should try spending more than 20 minutes on it, and actually giving a damm about your guild. THE End!On another note, a new gossip page opened, Red Row Gossip. My opinion? I think the page will cause much controversy, and that's exactly what the GC needs. Questions regarding who the anonymous owner was were raised at their grand opening board. Personally, I think it's Revy. Why? For many reasons. One, Revy is in the guild The Order, which is a guild that destroys other guilds. Guess who else is in The Order? Yup, you guessed it! The owner of Red Row, who I'm going to call Red. Also, another point made was that Red Row's coding was extremely similar to that of Revy's, namely the links used at the top. I agree with this. And lastly, Red gave me personally a hint pertaining to their true identity. Red told me that they liked lemons. Earlier on the board, someone mentioned Revy liking lemons. I'm not sure if this was a joke, but maybe it wasn't, and that was the last and final clue I needed to close the case. Nonetheless, I believe that Red is, indeed, Revy.
Another thing I would like to discuss is guilds. As I mentioned before, one guild I'm beginning to hear about is The Order. According to Red, it re-opened about a week ago, and a few GCers recently joined the guild. Some of these GCers include Red, Revy (AKA, Red) and Mercedes. Another guild I'm bringing into the spotlight is Red Alert. They have been postponed to "sometime". Maybe they will open, maybe they won't. Who knows. All this means is, be alert for Red Alert... Just not right now. Also, be alert for Massie's NR sometime soon. I've been in Massie's guild before, and let me tell you, I loved it. So this is definitely something to be excited for. ;)
Much to my dismay, I heard that the GC Pyramid was deleted. Why, nobody is sure. Has TNT finally come to their senses and saw the demoralizing ways of the GC? Doubt it. But, maybe they mistook the reason we were ranking for something looks related? Who knows. The point is, the GC Pyramid is gone, and as of now, I don't see anyone trying to re-build it. But, I must admit, it did bring drama and something to look forward to every weekend. It will be missed, despite it's inaccuracy.
Muy caliente, mi amigos! Ay ay ay!
Posted by Shan June 5th, 2010, 3:24 NST
Something muy caliente coming to the GC soon is The Chisme, a new anon page owned by someone named Alejandro. So far, I'm muy muy excited for this nuevo chisme page. Alejandro's humor, Spanglish and Spanish charm are all making for bueno hype. Hopefully, this page will be worth reading, and not just another supposedly 'interesante' flop. What I know about their personality so far is, A, they're not a current GCer because they asked for the current GC pages, and B, they either know Spanish or where to find a translator. Keep your eyes open for this future page! It just might take the GC by storm.
Another new muy interesante page I've noticed is BFDG. Their first update was, basically, telling the truth about a few people. It was gritty, daring and entertaining. They've also supplied some pretty hilarious pictures that I'm sure TNT frowns upon while we LOL our azzes off. Well done, and I am most certainly looking forward to their next update.
One thing that strikes me as odd is that while the usual gossip pages continue to shrivel away and die, normal every-day Neopets users who actually have guilds go out and start making frequently updated gossip pages about specific guilds and styles. Two that I happen to really like are Rita's Rumors, an HP gossip page, and Glinda's Gossip, a Scribble gossip page. I like Rita's Rumors because it is extremely informational, and it talks about every HP guild, not just the popular ones. I like Glinda's Gossip because, A, it's the first Scribble gossip page I know of, which was a bold move, and B, it is snarky yet honest. I love seeing run-of-the-mill GC members making names for themselves in a different way than us GCers do. Bravo!
UPDATE: Turns out I know who Alejandro is!

I pledge allegiance, to... Zone?
Posted by Shan July 8th, 2010, 8:15 NST
Zone, an upcoming city-themed guild that has everyone talking, released a Pledge Page to hype their guild. How the pledge page works is that upon pledging to join Zone when it opens, you receive an award. In addition, for every 10 pledgees, a secret is revealed. The first secret was revealed at 20 pledgees last night. The secret was that Krissy was made an official owner. This secret was slightly disappointing, considering I already knew this. But it doesn't matter. I'm still anxiously awaiting the next secret, as I know it will be better. At least, I hope... Anyway, if you'd like to pledge, put the banner on the Pledge Page on your lookup and send the guild account a neomail saying that you pledge to Zone and that your banner is on your lookup.More upcoming pages heading your way! The first one is XOXO GC, and I must say, it's extremely captivating. It is an anonymous page that promises juicy gossip. It's just what the GC needs: a little spice. I hope this isn't one of those pages that thinks that they have juicy gossip, when really, either nobody cares, or we already knew what they were talking about. The coding is very cute. I wonder who made it...
The other upcoming page is not a gossip page, but it is an anticipation-making page. People of the GC Awards, owned by someone anonymous named Jack. The page is about giving awards for everything from graphics to chatting to just having a rep as being annoying. I really think this will cause some controversy on the GC, and the GC is more dead than disco music, so it wouldn't hurt anyone... At least, physically, that is. ;)
UPDATE!
Turns out that today XOXO GC had their first update about Zone's owners. It revealed that Zone had 15 owners. Am I the only one that thinks that is way too many? At first, the additional 6 owners were just an educated guess, but later on Angie confirmed that the new additions were, in fact, owners in Zone. In addition, Skye also revealed that Jas stepped down as an owner because he believed the guild was going nowhere. Well, without Jas, I think the guild will be slightly less well-made. But, like I've said many times, only time will tell. You can find a list of the owners and members here.
So, after the opening of PGC Awards, 2 more award pages came out. One is GC 2010, owned by Sarah, and one is Marie's Nominees owned by someone named Marie. GC 2010 has a lot of categories, and it's a good balanc between positive and negative, and just plain ol' funny. I like it. And Marie's Nominees is entirely negative, but still alright, I suppose.
Good, Bad and... Frozen?!?

Long-time anon gossip page owner Skye recently self-froze her account. Why? Nobody knows. She came onto a GC board, saying 'bye its been fun' and then self-freezing before the GC's very eyes. What does this mean for her page, GBU? Will it suddenly re-appear, or is it gone for good? Maybe her account skyebox is gone, but I have a strong feeling Skye is still out there, watching over the GC. Keep in mind her account as Chuck Bass is still out there! And she also has her main. So don't think we got rid of her just yet. I have a feeling she'll be back, whether we know it or not.Recently, a new page opened, called the Rooster Page. Personally, I really love this page. The updates are witty, and MY GOD THAT PYRAMID. I literally nearly combusted of laughter. It's a pity if you don't get some of the triangles, they're quite hilarious. Here's the run-down for everything I understood.
HIRO: The tally marks are for how many guilds he's made. The face is just...
MERCEDES: The 2 masks symbolize how she is two-faced.
WILMA: The bag over her head shows how nobody knows who exactly she is.
VIK: He is an old GCer. Hence the picture of an old guy.
CODY: Making fun of how he only says 'yes, no, sup, lol' etc.
LYN: The gravestone is there because nobody sees her around anymore, as if she is dead.
NADIA: It says 'I love Nadia' etc. because she thinks everyone loves her.
LIA: This is my personal favorite. The triangle is actually a 3-D pyramid, and if you look at it sideways, you'll see the face is actually a face on a pyramid. This depicts her GC Antics video.
ANNA: This one doesn't even need explaining.
CONOR: Displays his over-usage of shadows. The short fuse represents his short temper.
REVY: Ridicules her obnoxious eye-sore fonts.
MILOU: Her triangle is composed of CSS codes because she is known for her CSS.
JENN: They said they just felt like giving her that smilie.
ANITA: She has a dirty mind. Hence the dirt on the brain and the stink lines.
TRINA: She is always on the GC making GC boards.
SONYA: Same as Vik's, except female.
TIFF: The image is rice, for her page about answering questions and donating rice to poor people, or something like that.
CLICKIE: Is making fun of how Clickie complains when people talk about het setting trends in Symbol CSS.
DYLAN: He uses Zone as his crown because he always talks about it and uses it to be 'famous'. The speech bubble is self-explanatory.
KRYS: This was the hardest one. The pencil sharpener shows her over-use of sharpening on her layouts. If you look at the sharpener closely, you'll see the image has been sharpened.
KIM: Shows how Dylan and her always talk and their supposed 'e-romance'.
KALI: The stick figure depicts how Kali is bland.
ANGIE: Self-explanatory.
JAS: It's about the time he made a board about where the GC was headed and the new A-list.
THERESA: Ridiculing how her usernames are always made up, and how she had a good number of them.
Please note I'm NOT saying what is suggested on these triangles is true. I'm just saying what was intended by the creator of the page. (:
By the way... JERSEY SHORE PREMIERE TONIGHT AT 10 ON MTV!! Watch it.
A peek behind the curtain.

Backstage Interviews is a new interview page owned by Arie, a lesser-known GCer. So far they interviewed the owner of an RP guild, an owner of an Asian guild, and the GC's own Patrick, an owner in Zone. I like the concept of it, and the random questions at the end make it lighthearted. This is good for the normal GCers, but the GCers most of us are used to, who love good gossip and drama, might want more than lighthearted. Nonetheless, it's a great idea, and I love the page, personally. Keep up the great work Arie!It Feels So Good To Be Back!

Okay, so this update is James fault. I was bugging him about opening LOLHOF, so he said if I updated on its loveliness, he would re-open. So he re-opened, and I have to update about it. LOLHOF is a screenie page of the GC, if you didn't already know. I must say, it's really funny. We need something like this on the GC. I thoroughly enjoyed its loveliness. If James keeps updating, so will I. This is my new way of making sure I update. Which probably won't work, but whatever. It's nice to have dreams. Check this ~*lovely*~ page out NAO!!! :D:DSo there is gonna be a new page out soon! FINALLY! It's called The Anon Source, owned by someone anon (obviously). Hopefully they'll be opening very soon, because quite honestly, the GC is boring right now. So make like paprika and SPICE IT UP! Kthx.
Okay, this is a message to the Does. ARE YA GONNA REVEAL OR WHAT? Seriously, you guys made a big deal out of revealing, and you made this whole page about it, but then you just... do nothing. If you're not gonna reveal, at least post on GC boards or something! The GC is just SO BORING, not even Trina's GC boards can spice it up at this point. The only thing that's happened to the GC is Zone, which is fantabulous, but it's a GUILD. Come on now.
Yeah, so my update-turned-rant is over now. So please enjoy this humorous picture. BYE!

Zoning Out... For Now
Posted by Shan September 18th, 2010, 12:52 NST
As you may have heard, Zone was recently deleted. Some people say they closed, but I highly doubt this. They were doing too well to have closed. According to the temporary guild's welcome message, they will be re-opening next weekend. Personally, I am kind of wary that they will open, only because most of the owners aren't that active besides Dylan, Jonni, & 1 or 2 others I can't remember at the moment. As you may recall, there were 10+ owners when they first opened. Nonetheless, I do happen to like the guild & I wish them the best when (or if) they re-open.A new gossip page opened recently. Life Ruiner Gossip updated with Scion leaks, & some opinions on other guilds, including Zone. Do I like it? I don't know. I mean, it DID bring some much-needed drama to the GC. But that's pretty much it. So, I'm still deciding on this one.
Speaking of Scion, despite the leaks, it will be opening tomorrow. It's NR-themed. ... Okay that's pretty much all I know about the guild. Just know it's opening tomorrow!
