Shenkuu Shenkuu is an amazing land, found north of Altador, behind a great mountain range. It is a merchant city, and has excellent shops, and amazing residents. Back To the Top Updates and News! March 4th 2007: The final Shenkuu Stamp has been released. Feb. 27th 2008: A great new Cyodrakes Gaze keyring has been released. Feb. 26th 2007: The Quilin has been featured in this new toy... Back To the Top The Discovery of Shenkuu In summer of Y8, a strange ship was noticed on the Krawk Island Map. If you visited the ship, you would discover a entire crew of Neopets, searching for their ships lost Navigator, Hoban. This was the start of the "Cyodrake's Gaze" plot (You can view the entire plot by clicking here.) During the plot, the strange ship traveled to many Neopian lands, such as the Lost Desert and even Faerieland! At the end of the plot, the land of Shenkuu was revealed to all of Neopia. This plot was one of my all time favorites. The prizes for the plot included: Hobans Leftovers Hobans Mapbook Hobans Hat Prizes were won by answering a questionaire relating to Hobans dissapearance. Back To the Top Famous People from Shenkuu Hoban Hoban, a Yellow Aisha, is the famous navigator of The Cyodrake's Gaze. He has navigated the Gaze thru many adventures, but none of those adventures can compare to the time he was pushed off the ship by a fellow shipmate, triggering an entire Plot dedicated in finding him. Hoban also has a number of items dedicated to him, such as Hoban's Leftovers, Hoban's Map Book, and Hoban's Hat, which were all prizes in The Cyodrake's Gaze plot. He also has an avatar modeled after him, which can be seen by clicking here. The avatar was obtained by answering two or more questions right in the Cyodrakes Gaze Plot. If you would like to see a video clip of Hoban from Year 8's Advent Calendar, simply click here. Chef Bonju, a Orange Blumaroo, is the chef on the Cyodrake's Gaze. He has created some of the most excellent foods known in Neopia, but he has a bit of a temper. Bonju was accused of pushing Hoban off the ship after he insulted Bonju. Chef Bonju can be visited at the Culinary Concotions in Shenkuu. (More information in another section of the page.) Chef Bonju Orrin Orrin was a crewmember aboard the Cyodrakes Gaze and is also the Exotic Foods shopkeeper. He is also featured in the game Revel Roundup. At first glance, Orrin might seem a bit dull. But I think that hes one of the most interesting characters in Shenkuu. Kentari was one of the crewmembers aboard the Cyodrakes Gaze and is the shopkeeper at Wonderous Weaponry. Kentari also hosts the game Godori, which can be played by clicking here. He also has his own Neopedia article, which can be seen by clicking here. Kentari Shumi Shumi was Captain Tuan's First Mate aboard the Cyodrakes Gaze. Shumi wasnt mentioned much in the plot, but he still was an important character. Captain Tuan, was the captain of the ship "The Cyodrakes Gaze". He sailed the ship through Neopia, stopping at different places to search for Hoban like the Lost Desert and Faerieland. Captain Tuan Linae Linae, an energetic pink Kougra, was one of the crewmembers aboard the Cyodrakes Gaze. Linae also hosts the game Kou-Jong. In my opinion, Linae was the youth and life on the ship when tensions were high. Anshu, an old Ruki, was the Doctor aboard the Cyodrakes Gaze. He is also the shopkeeper of Remarkable Restoratives. In my opinion, Anshu seems exceedingly wise. Anshu Wise Old Gnorbu The Wise Old Gnorbu lives at the Shenkuu Lunar Temple where he mantains the Shenkuu Lunar Calendar. At the Lunar Temple, you answer a question that deals with the movement of Kreludor. More information on the Lunar Temple in the next section. The Shenkuu Yooyuball Team participated for the first time in the Altador Cup in Year 9. They also brought home an excellent 3rd place trophy. Hovering over each players headshot will reveal their name and position. Shenkuu Yooyuball Team Back To the Top The Lunar Temple The Lunar Temple is located at the top of Shenkuu. A Wise Gnorbu dwells there. He simply asks for the answer to a question about the positioning of Kreludor. Answer it correctly, and you get a prize. This is his magical cooking pot, which is very similar to Jhuidahs Magical Cooking Pot, which can be found in Mystery Island. There is no record on a successful concoction, and people work on cracking its mystery day and night. People believe by solving the mystery they can attain the Chef Bonju avatar. You can visit the Avatar Chat Board to find a board where people are trying to crack the code. Godori This can be a pretty complicated game, but other wise its pretty fun. Click here for a guide. Revel Roundup I love this game. Its like Usuki Frenzy, Shenkuu style! Its pretty easy, and fun to play. Click here for a guide. Imperial Exam This game needs one skill; being able to spell. Read thru each neopets spelling, to see if its correct. You probably wont be able to find a guide for this game, due to the fact that you wont need cheats or hints to succeed in it. Princess Lunara This is my all time favorite game. After a few practice rounds, you should be able to memorize most of the answers. The key to getting a high score is speed! Click here for a guide. Shenkuu River Rush In this 3-D game, you surf thru the waters of Shenkuu. After you learn the controls, it'll be a little easier. Exotic Foods Artichoke Dumplings Steamed and full of artichoke goodness, these taste best when served with mayonnaise. Ice Cream Dumplings Oh, a nice little ice cream treat that is just bite size and is covered in a light dough. (Gourmet Food) Bamboo Tea This tea is stored in a bamboo bottle, giving it just a hint of added flavour. Bluchard Root Though very brightly coloured, this veggie is bland and best used in stews. Chokato Dumplings Nice tender dumplings with a lovely aroma. Fruit and Vegetable Hand Roll Fruit, veggies, and rice all wrapped in seaweed. Yummy!(Gourmet Food!) Green Tea Custard Soothing and full of anti-oxidants, this creamy dessert is large enough to share with a friend. Jug Juice No one is quite sure whats in it, but it doesnt really matter anyway! Mint Rolls This will really clear your sinuses!! Negg Noodles Mmmm... neggs and noodles with a spicy fish sauce.(Gourmet Food!) Noodle Salad This noodle salad is quite tasty, but be warned it is a bit spicy. Pickled Cucumbers These sweet pickled cucumbers have a bit of hot spice added to them. Purplum Buns The perfect dessert for any purplum fan! River Wave Breeze Not as refreshing as the breeze you get while wave riding, but its close. Squibble Berry Salad Zesty and refreshing, it's just the thing for a light lunch. Steamed Vegetable Dumplings This tasty dumpling is a healthy alternative to fried dumplings. (Gourmet Food!) Stramberry Juice Fresh squeezed Stramberry juice in a contoured bottle. Sushi Platter Edible art in bite-sized pieces.(Gourmet Food!) Tentacle Rice Whoa. Did something just move? Tigerbuggle Sushi A vegetarian delight that no pet would refuse! Urchin Suprise Fishy with a consistency similar to butter, this dish is considered a delicacy to many Neopets. Wasabi Crackers These spicy crackers go great with anything! Whomp Berry Noodles Hand-made noodles with a few berries added for decoration, the perfect mid-day snack Fried Calamari Salad Who wants lettuce with fried calamari? Hot Mustard Sauce YIKES! This sauce is HOT! Lotus Rice Ahhh... such delicious rice. Pan Fried Dumplings Ahhh... these dumplings are filled with a tasty mixture. Fanciful Fauna Biyako The feisty Biyako is known for its hunting skills and its ability to be extremely quiet. Pandaphant These cute fellows are considered the jewel of Shenkuu and are being offered to responsible owners in limited numbers. They are extremely sweet creatures known for their gentleness. Dandan The Dandan loves to rest during the days, usually from a high perch so they can watch what is going on in the world below. Hegelob This mystical creature is found in the waters of Shenkuu and it thought to have many magical powers. Pygui This noble and charming creature occasionally makes rash decisions that it regrets later. Gikerot Living in the shelter of plants, the Gikerot likes sunning itself in the afternoon sun. It can easily jump and glide for short distances. Juma Known for their soft coat and their playfulness these critters are very light on their feet. Tomamu This Petpet loves to sit around and squawk at passerbys. If you want to keep it happy make sure you have lots of fish on hand. Kazeriu Rumoured to only appear to those who believe in them, these magical creatures are very clever. Quilin The Quilin is thought to be the most prized petpet in Shenkuu and is thought to have many magical powers. Sandan This Petpet is very curious and will often run right up to anything in greeting. It needs an attentive and kind Neopet to take care of it. Quintilc This delicate Petpet it a good pet for a Neopet that is very gentle. Remarkable Restoratives Brilliant Draik Flower Keep your feet a normal size with the pollen from this flower. Black Cherry Tea It is said that this tea has a very calming effect on headaches. Clay and Leaf Paste This paste has often been said to warm the body to help stop shaking and keep skin from flaking off. Cobrall Root If your Neopet is complaining of sore eyes and sneezing you might want to feed them some of this root. Dried Mushrooms After eating these dried mushrooms your Neopet shouldnt be afraid to leave home. Dried Prampet Leaves Ugh, red bumps all over... why not cover your pet in leaves... maybe that will help. Dried Black Mushrooms Eating a few of these mushrooms might keep Neopets from bumping into so many things. Finely Ground Bean Powder If your Neopet seems to be seeing green spots this powder might help it feel better... Lotus Leaves Now your Neopet doesnt have to suffer from terrible hiccups. Seaweed Paste If you are tired of all of your Neopets drool try applying some of this paste to their tongue. Slimy Tree Bark Apply this to your Neopets gums if it has difficulty eating or drinking. Soothing Stones If your Neopets coat is covered with lurgees you might want to buy some of these stones... Talon Root A few scratches of this root might help your pets yellow, itchy lumps. Steaming Green Tea It is said a hot cup of tea will help to cheer the spirit. White Squid Root Your Neopet may not want to eat, but this root is quite refreshing. Wonderous Weaponry Black Fan of Shenkuu Fans are great weapons for fighting and defence Black Leather Helmet Protection for a warrior is very important, and this thick leather helmet is made to protect. Boots of Leaping With these boots on, you might have won the leaping championships of Y5. Bracers of Fury You must be very angry to wear these. Carved Sansetsukon Your opponent might just give up when they see you approach with this weapon. Eight Point Paper Star Watch out for paper cuts! Enchanted Pudao Just be careful which end you reach for... one end is pointy. Engraved Broad Sword Fear often comes to the eyes of the soldier that is faced with this broad sword. Engraved Chakram This Chakram was made for warriors of great might and is decorated to show the warriors importance. Four Point Paper Star Folded to make them stronger. Gold Handled Katana Defend what is right and good with this glorious katana. Helm Of Recovery Its no use fighting if your brain is all squishy. Jade Staff Prized for its beauty and its strength this staff is perfect in battle for either attacking or defending. Night Katana This katana will blend in with your stealth night gear. Pack of Holding It may not look very big, but you would be surprised at how much it can hold. Paper Dagger Take that! This paper sword is ummm great! Paper Helmet Hmmm... a paper helmet? Pocket Feather The secret weapon of warriors this feather tickling weapon is very dangerous. Sparkling Bonbori Hammers Great in battle and as musical instruments too!
