Welcome!

Hello! Welcome to my application for Calliewoo204 (Callie). I would like to start off saying that I was not forced to make this application.

Callie

Profile

Name: Callie
Species: Undiscovered snow bear
Family: unknown
Gender: Female
Age: 2 bear years/13 human years
Birthday: 9pm, 18th October
Appearance (anthro): Pale skinned girl with dark brown eyes. Full face with a crooked smile. Shoulder length dirty blonde hair. 5 foot tall. Wears white earmuffs and one-shouldered top. Wears compass around neck.
Appearance (bear): 1 foot tall on hind legs. Heavy, midnight blue coat with a tuff of turquoise around her collar continuing down her back. Lighter patch of sky blue around muzzle. Thing hummingbird wings, and springy ears.

Character

At the beginning of the story we see Callie nestled in the cozy, snowy meadow she calls home. However, mother nature unexpectedly betrays her by Turning her into a butterfly. This happens annually in the tribe and two young girls Turn. Both develop the whispy wings and blue coat that distinguishes from the other bears. After the winter both Nominated bears are displayed in front f the tribe during the Submission, when the Queen bear listens to the Spirits and choses one of the Nominees to be the new Queen. The bear who is not chosen is called the Woo and is banished from the tribe, while the other becomes the monarch.

Personality

You would think that after she gets banished from the tribe, she would be angry. She's not. Callie is very respectable and understand that the tribe was only following the rules put in place by their ancestors. She is, however, very sensitive. Before she Turned, Callie was very dependent; one who put her trust in every member of her clan. After she was overshadowed, she began to feel a sense of regret, isolation, and betrayal. Now she doesn't trust many people. She wears a smile on her face because she doens't want anyone to judge her, but inside she is still sobbing for the only family she has ever known. This dramatic personality change caused Callie to be more shy and reserved, and rarely look people in the eye. She acts very independent, but she has little self confidence. Every compliment given to her about her gleaming eyes or silky coat is treasured.
She does not dream at night, and she does not know why. All of a sudden, they stopped coming. This was upsetting because in her tribe, a dream is a symbol that the spirits are speaking to you. If you do not dream, it basically means they no longer care about you or acknowledge your existence.

Story

That winter it was especially cold. The leaves had fallen in August and the snow began to dust the meadow in early autumn. With it came a bitter wind that pierced the bears' skin through their thick coats and grey skies hanging above them. Callie yawned awake and tilted her head up slightly, just enough to see above the snow-covered ground. There must have been 3 feet! Callie could feel the heavy snow covering her sleek fur; her head was weighed down by a pile on top. Rubbing her eyes, she sat up from her nest and saw that no one else in the tribe had awoken from the long hibernation. The little bear stretched and buried herself back into a mound of snow, shielded from the harsh outside.

The next time she opened her eyes, she was in a completely different place. Her eyes widened as she stumbled and felt along the slick wrapper that enclosed her. She gasped in astonishment. Was she in the infamous chrysalis? Murmurs came from beyond the walls of her little cocoon.
Callie?" Someone whispered, "Are you awake?"
Yes." She breathed, frightened. "Does this mean…?" It was not really a question – Callie knew full and well what happened to a young cub when they were chosen by the spirits to morph into a butterfly after hibernation. There was only one question that needed to be answered. "Did anyone else Turn?"
The other tribe member hesitated, "Yes."
It was over. Callie's mind went blank, her toes went numb. It was no secret in the tribe that every hibernation, two unlucky cubs would Turn into stunning pastel green and turquoise blue butterflies. The current queen would call upon the spirits and Submit one of the bears as the new monarch, and the Banish the other forever. Either Callie or the other bear would wear the coveted orange and black wings, and the other would never return. Occasionally only one bear Turned, and was automatically Submitted, but more often than not the spirits had to chose. Luck was not a lady.

It took weeks for the ice to melt from the edges of the chrysalis as Callie waited in suspense to discover her fate. In late April, the bears gathered around the tree where Callie and the other cub's cocoons were perched. The queen greeted her tribe with a gentle nod, while her dark spiky hair implied the opposite attitude. The bears of the tribe anxiously huddled around the great tree, crossing their fingers for the girls. Callie wondered who was rooting for her. She tried to block out the queen's routine speech, the one given every year during the Submitting. "And no matter who is chosen, let it be known both of these honored younglings are courageous, but only one can reign our noble clan. I would like to bestow…"
Fifty-fifty odds didn't sound so terrible to the normal citizen, but when you're on the wrong side of that fifty you are overwhelmed with depressing thoughts and "what ifs." Callie fiddled with the customary piece of jewelry around her neck. Every cub born in the tribe receives an identical necklace to wear forever. The pendant has a round silver circle that travels around the center glass bead. Four small crystals dangle from the bottom of the circle along with a one inch chain with an opal attached. It was a sign of belonging, so other members could recognize you as one of their own. If only Callie felt like she belonged.
She tried to clear her head and relax, and wait for instructions from the queen. But it was rather difficult to ignore the rapid thumping of her heart.
Ready Nominees?" Asked the queen.
Callie gulped and tried to answer but her throat was clammy. "Yuh-geh-yeah." The other Nominee echoed her "yeah" but with a confident and cocky tone that only made the knot in Callie's stomach tighten. Would she be Banished?
The queen muttered some rhythmic offerings to the spirits as she called upon them for their help. "Who shall carry the burden of leading the Tribe to prosperity? And who shall never step a paw on this meadow again?" The breeze rustled their fur ordinarily, but somehow the queen deciphered their choice.
Finally she spoke the words Callie dread to hear: "With the power vested in me, I hereby crown Mel the new monarch butterfly of our clan." A chill crawled down Callie's spine while giggles resonated from the cocoon next door. Applause erupted from the audience, but a few loyal friends gasped. Callie was blinded by the chrysalis, but she imagined that the queen had released this Mel from her prison and transferred the beautiful orange and black wings to her as the cheers grew louder. Everything was happened so quickly. Suddenly Callie's cocoon melted underneath her and she fell onto the soggy grass. Ashamed, she hid her face in her arms and huddled into a ball as she did as a newborn. Peeking out, she saw her once adoring tribe glare at her with disgust and Callie felt something warm growing around her shivering neck. The new queen transformed the glass bead in the center of Callie's necklace into a tiny compass, to remind bears that she was lost and no longer a part of the clan.
The old queen blew a thin, translucent coating over Callie's helpless body. It now appeared as though Callie was floating inside an magical bubble. The inside smelled like honeysuckle, although Callie couldn't see where the source was. As the new monarch, Mel took her index finger and inscribed a message to Callie onto the bubble's surface.
Calliewoo, you will always live in my shadow.
Callie hated the idea of living in someone's shadow. What did that mean? That she sat perched on a suitcase, dead to the world, while perky, lucky little Mel pranced around happily? That darkness will decend upon her and she will never see the light of day nor the blooming flowers in the meadow? Tears gathered in the corner of her eyes, and eventually overflowed to trickle down her cheek.
With a nudge of her finger, the monarch sent the bubble on its way drifting through the sky on its way to nowhere.

Some dreams live on in time, forever
Those dreams, you want with all your heart
And I'll do whatever it takes
Follow through with the promise I made
Put it all on the line
What I hoped for at last would be mine
If I could reach, higher
Just for one moment touch the sky
From that one moment in my life
I'm gonna be stronger
Know that I've tried my very best
Put my spirit to the test
If I could reach
Some days are meant to be remembered
Those days we rise above the stars
So I'll go the distance this time
Seeing more the higher I climb
That the more I believe
All the more that this dream will be mine

Plans

Customization

Now, I will warn you that I'm not a pro at customization. All the NC I own was gifted to me be lovely people, and unfortunately I don't plan on becoming a customer anytime soon. That being said, if I ever happen to collect these whimsical items, these are the customizations I believe fits Callie. Naturally the icicles hanging from the frozen trees are just like the ones in her ice forest. The bubbles remind me of the translucent film that was coated over Callie when she was banished. The fire/ice BG fits with her heart, how part is passionate and part is cold, as well as symbolizing her homeland. I don't want to make any promises I might not be able to keep, but I will certainly try to acquire this purdy and symbolic getup for her. *sigh*
She is beautiful. Oh, sorry! D: Was I staring again? @_@ It's become a regular habit. Just ignore the dreamy look in my eyes and the puddle of drool gathering on the floor. /mops up drool and apologizes.

Beauty Contest

As I do with all of my treasured, inspirational pets, I love to enter them in the BC, and annoy people with my spamming. mwuahah.
No, seriously, but here are some initial images I've drawn of my impression of Callie the snow bear. She would be proudly entered in the BC along with my other babies, and hopefully win a spiffy trophy for her lookie to show off to everyone(; I hope to advance into digital art soon, to add variety to my pets' portraits.

About Me

Where do I start? Well, my name is Katie. I love traditional art (and fail at digital art), writing fiction, reading good books, watching my favorite show Castle, cute quotes, and animals (especially dogs). I like to keep this part of the application short, because it really isn't about me - it's about Callie :33 I do understand, however, that you probably want to know what kind of person might be adopting your beloved furrball. So, if someone were to randomly meet me, they would probably think I was kind of shy, quirky, friendly (hopefully haha), and creative. I love whimsical crafts, like making scrabble tiles into jewelry, or writing down my thoughts in a cute notebook. I'm quite a good student, and try really hard to succeed. One of my favorite classes is Journalism, where we write/design/layout/make the school newspaper. I'm the front page editor hehe, and I'm really proud of our staff. One of my biggest pet peeves is annoying people (that goes without saying), liars, and not remembering things or forgetting/misplacing things.
(note: I feel so arrogant writing all this about myself)
Favorites:
Food: Thai and ice cream (not together lol)
Movie: I can honestly never decide this, but I'm always up for a good Pixar movie. I'm a kid at heart, c'mon(:
Book: Harry Potter :D So emotional! It made me cheer, cry, laugh, and sit on the edge of my seat screaming in suspense.
Season: Autumn! So many memories, and lovely smells like apples, pumpkins, leaves, crisp clean air... ahh

I started playing neo as a child but never really got into it until this year. The old account I had as a kid is gone because someone hacked/scammed me and then I was frozen for my protection. I was too terrified to send in a ticket and now it's too late. But after a few year haitus, I came back and made this account. I've had it one year now, and I've met a lot of wonderful people on neo (and try to ignore the drama). I've never been warned/silenced and never plan to be.
One of my absolutely favorite neo-events is the advent calendar, because I remember very vividly how happy it made me when I was younger. I also remember the time before NC and converted pets, when life was simpler. My favorite games were faerie bubbles, hasee bounce, and swam the bugs strike back :P
Anyway, now my main hobbies are avatar collecting, playing KQ/habitarium, and my pets. I have around 250 avatars and I have several avatar pets/items that I lend on the AC.
On the PC, however, I try very hard to get my "dreamies." I have many "permies" and I love each and every one of them.
My accounts are klarevoyant (main), midnite_frost, dandelion_seeds, and glassbeach.
Between these accounts I have my family of lovely pets; most of them have a story, art, lookie, and petpage, as would Callie. Callie would be more then welcome, but just so she knows what she's getting herself into, I'd like to introduce her to my "permie" pets:

Family

Chickapoonga: (UC mutant hissi) Not-so-secretly my favorite. She was gifted to me by a very close friend, who knows how obsessed I am with UC mutant hissis. There's something so beautiful and mystical in their eyes and their evil grin, I couldn't help but adore them. Chickapoonga is a Greek mythological serpent called the hydra, which has several heads one of which spews fire. When you cut on head off, two more grow back. Chicka is the more emotional and rude of the two, and Poonga is just as determined but a little more level-headed.
Chicka: Rude? Who are you callin' rude? *humph*
Poonga: *snorts* I told you so!
Chicka: Don't brag Poonga, it's very unattractive. Besides, everyone knows I'm the cuter twin, hehe.
Poonga: They WHAT? *laughs* You're joking, I'm the only one with any real talent *flips hair.* Katie, why don't you settle this, who's better?
Me: Erm... I love you both the exact same (:

Kaihonnu: (Maraquan shoyru) One of my dreamies for the longest time. My favorite place is Hawaii, and as a little girl I would wake up and walk to the shore of the beach and watch the turtles surf the waves. Naturally I wanted a little turtle on here, too. Kai represents the happiness of my childhood, and the adventure of tropical beaches.

Thunderboomers: (Faerie xweetok) One of the newest additions to my family, she was given to me by my sister who knew I wanted a faerie in the family. She is a shy tween who is the definition of a night owl. She sleeps outside in a hammock while little paper lanterns hang between the trees. Boomer is always humming to herself, lost in a daydream.

Jewliet: (Royalgirl Kyrii) Jewels was named after Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, but she is not quite the same character. She awakes in a tower guarded by a two headed serpent (that would be Chickapoonga) and has no memory of her past life. The two girls tell her she was once a princess destined to marry her Romeo. She had despised the idea of marrying so thoroughly that her parents locked her in the tower and erased her memory. They were ashamed that their princess would not follow in their footsteps. Gradually, as the three girls grow closer, it is no secret that the three of them want to escape. Chicka and Poonga lower Jewliet from the window to the ground, where she severs the chains that tie them to the tower. She is very moody at times, and often wonders what her other life would be like. But Jewliet is an independent girl who does not need a Romeo. *stomps foot*

Putchey: (Baby chomby) Hehe, Putchey is my little angel. He is named after my dog, and is *almost* as cute. Putchey loves to play hide and seek, fetch, nap, and gobble up dog food. Putch is quite naive and gullible, and often teased by Chicka. His best friend is Haddy, who occasionally he agrees to play barbies or teaparty with.

Haddy: (Purple poogle) When I wad younger, my very first pet trade was a snow usul I found in the pound for my "dreamie," a purple poogle. I have since lost that account during my haitus (don't remember any of the names or anything), but when I came back I knew I wanted a little poogle to remind me of my first baby. I saw Haddy on the PC and fell in love with her name because it is similar to Haddie from a show called Parenthood. I traded my royal xweetok for her and saved my nps for the morphing potion. Finally she was painted and morphed, and ready to play dolls, house, orphans, fairies, and princess. Like any little girl, she loves the color pink and all things frilly and cute.

JoRowling: (Christmas Kacheek) Well now you know I love Harry Potter, as Jo Rowling is the author. I created her myself and painted her christmas as a base color. I had always heard that kacheeks were fun to customize but since I don't buy NC, I acquired some desert and island kacheek clothing. She is main dress up pet, but I also drew a coloured pencil of her reading that will soon be entered into the BC, which I will put on her petpage. The Harry Potter books are just important to me because I enjoy reading and these books were with me throughout my whole childhood. She means a lot to me, and is one person who inspired me to be a writer myself.

Requieem: (Desert Eyrie) Reck here was given to me by my friend Brandi. "Requiem" is an act or token of remembrance, and Reck makes people remember what they did to him long ago. Today he is the phoenix pharaoh, but before became the king of his realm he was a lowly merchant. He was constantly ridiculed and patronized by the upper class. So now that he has become the highest of them all, he discretely slips poisons into their drinks to make pay for how they treated him all those years ago. But he also returns the kindness of those who helped him when he was a peasant by showering the other merchants with gifts and food. He is, if you will, Karma.

Raikez: (Spotted koi) This fishy was adopted out to me. Put simply, Rai is the angel conscience and the devil consciences. She has an exhausting job - can you imagine sitting on shoulders all day trying to convince people to do the right/wrong thing?

Prouble: (UC darigan uni) First, let me explain his nickname. Prouble sounds like Puddle, which can be shortened to Pud. That's it! Pud was adopted from my friend Ann a while ago. Ann and I met by kadding, and she said she had no use for her UCs so she gave Pud to me. He is the noble horse on which superman rides. Of course he can fly, but he is jealous of superman's special powers.

And here's me being optimitic...

Why Callie?

Callie: (UC faerie yurble) Callie is very special to me because I have been seeking the perfect yurble for what seems like forever. I think I've met every yurble on the PC! Don't ask me why I love them, I really don't know. I'm not a yurble fan per se, but my face lights up whenever I see one of these little furballs grabbing their fluffayyy toes. Squee!! I always imagined them tucking their head under their legs in this position, like a somersault. But then rolling around like Stitch in Lilo & Stitch, haha. I have a pretty crazy imagination at times. Anyway, I applied for Callie when her owner, Kelly, quit. I had never made an intense application before, so I was really nervous to make one for Callie but I felt she was too perfect to pass up. I knew that if I was honored enough to adopt her, she would be truly loved. Callie deserves a lovely lookup, petpage, artwork, and story like my other babies. My idea for her came to me by remembering a game I played with my sister as a kid. We would put Mike and Ikes outside in the tiny garden filled with bonsais. We would hope a fairy would come and eat our offerings! The two of us would build fairy houses out of moss and twigs and spend the whole day outside sitting in a patch of flowers with the butterflies. In my head, Callie is a young fluffly white bear cub who becomes a butterfly. But there's a catch.

Thank you

Thanks for taking time out of your day to read this application, I hope you enjoyed reading about Callie's life as I imagine it to be. Maybe you even smiled once or twice. I cannot thank you enough to giving me this opportunity, and I hope you find someone who truly loves Callie. Good luck!
