Screenie Tutorial
So you want to make screenies, eh, but you don't know where to start?? This step-by-step tutorial will help you along the way!! It includes pictures as well, to make sure you understand the instructions:) Unfortunately, due to the fact that the pics take up too much space on my photobucket account, I've had to minimise the large ones:(
First, all you need to do is capture your neopets moment. To do this press the button on your keyboard marked "print screen" (the one next to scroll lock).
Then, open paint, or another graphics program, and right click/paste, or ctrl†v.
Now that you've got a "photo" copy of the event, it's time to edit it.
You will need to crop it now. Select the part of the picture you want, and resize the bitmap to fit only that.
You should be left with this:
Ok, so you've got the picture and cropped it, but now what?? It's time now for you to add your personality, with some witty jokes, exclamations, etc. Use the text tool or the paintbrush/pencil and get writing.
You are almost ready to use your screenie now:) Click on file/save then save it as a bmp, etc image. Now open up the image in an image editor, (I used Microsoft photo editor) and file/save as. save it as a gif, or jpg image (you can leave it as a bmp, but that takes up too much space and takes longer to load).
The final step in making a screenie is uploading it, so you can use it on neopets. I personally use a free account at photobucket.com, but you can use any image hoster, like boomspeed, etc.
Now copy the "tag" code from your image account, and paste it where you want it to go.
And here's the finished product:
Voila!! Your very own screenie!! Now that you know how to make them, get cracking and create a whole lot of them, from of prizes, etc. you win, to fan and hate mail. Well, I'll leave you to it!! (neomail me when you've made some screenies, so I can look at them:) xox
