Music: Reflections in the Water
Hey there Sockeh, and welcome to my application for Lenjeu! Everything should be rather straightforward, so you shouldn't have any troubles. ^^
In many ancient civilizations, koi are magical creatures. They can heal wounds, both physically and emotionally. They can give hope to an army before battle, or bring peace in the midst of a storm. They signify beauty, grace, hope, and serenity. Many legends are woven around these beautiful creatures...but very few can recite an ancient legend about a creature who was only half koi. This legendary creature was the only one to be part koi and part dragon- until now.
Hello. I'm Lenjeu. People say I'm a legend.
Even though I've heard the stories of the koi dragon many times, I can't fathom how I could be one. The legend says that both koi and dragons are magical creatures, and when combined, holds great power. But in case you haven't noticed...I'm not that special. I may look like a koi, but I've only got one power that I know of. Do you want to hear about it? If you do, I'll have to tell you a bit about my past.
Chapter I: The Desert
Chapter II: Home
Chapter III: Kiki
Lenjeu, commonly known as Jule, is Neopia's one and only koi draik. I've put up some vital information on what she's like:
Formal Name: Lenjeu
Beautiful and small, Jule most enjoys swimming around her pond and sunbathing. She has a heart of gold, and is always ready to listen. She often attracts the attention of everyone around by humming in her mellow voice. But her voice isn't the only thing magical about her. Some power inside her allows wondrous things to happen. Some would call her a symbol of good luck, others simply refer to her as a blessing. Even though she insists that she is only Lenjeu, nothing more, people still believe in her.
I have an earth-shattering confession to make to you. o.o Are you ready? Lenjeu is a draik with a beautiful name. *gasp* I know, shocking. Yes, I'm one of those people who have a deep adoration for draiks and krawks alike. But that's just the surface of the matter. Now, to dig a bit deeper: While I'm typing this, there are twelve other lovely, painted draiks in Neo Pound. So why in the world is this maniac *points to self* be interested in Jule, and not another?
The name's Kikki/Kiki. (Mostly Kikki to my friends, I'm in the transition mode of spelling it different. xD) I dunno if you remember me from waaaaaay back in ADP, and possibly ELT. I know I can distinctly remember both you and Kre, but I understand if you don't remember, 'twas a long time ago. xD Anyhoo...I'm basically a relatively average fifteen (almost sixteen...) year old girl that likes to draw and think a ton. xD I've been on Neo for...a very long time. My main account, Gzgirl614, was my first activated account, and I still got it. (I guess this section of the app. is more of a background check) In other words, I haven't ever been frozen, or hacked. I've seen countless many friends frozen from misunderstanding or hackers, and I'm just grateful that I'm not among them. A clean record is one of the few things I can take pride in, since I've lost almost all dignity elsewhere. xD I love to draw, it's one of my few strong points in life. Neopets for me is consisted of two things: My friends, and my characters (my pets, basically). All my pets are given unique personalities and designs, they kind of make up most of my thoughts or different emotions that I have. So when I'm feeling shy, I tend to draw Menkalinan more, and when I'm feeling angry, I tend to draw Slighted more, etc. I think I based Lenjeu off from more of my carefree and apathetic feelings. I like thinking about concepts and stuff like that a lot, and I tend to create my own concepts too. (Example: I have a really...different concept about how thoughts work. I'd explain it to you, but I want to focus more on Jeu than my thoughts. xD)I'm on the internet almost everyday, mainly because I either draw or try to accomplish my goals on Neo, Subeta, or NeuroGalaxy. (Yush...I'm on 3 different petsites. The variety of pets allows me to spread out my characters into suitable designs.) Hokai...I'm gonna stop talking now. xD If you'd like to talk to me a bit more, which is unlikely, you can just neomail me. It's time to get back to Lenjeu. ^^
Obviously, in my application, I'm going to include what in the world I plan on doing with Lenjeu. So here's a nice little outline of my major plans for her. ^^
I tried to make it more interesting by having a Q&A session with Lenjeu. So she's going to be questioning me, I'm going to be answering, and you get to sit and watch us duke it out. =P
Lenjeu: *mutters* Bring it on, then. So, Kikki, you say that I deserve your best. Well, we're going to see here what is your "best", now aren't we? Let's start with...a petpet. Any dedicated applicant would already have a petpet, or have a petpet planned. Dish it over, kid.
That covers the larger chunk of plans for Lenjeu. ^^ I know I've said this before, but if you want to know anything about my plans, my application, what I ate for breakfast (really anything) then feel free to neomail me.
With me as an owner, you should expect a...unique family that Jule would be entering. ^^ So, I thought it might be appropriate to introduce my main pets. These are the pets that Lenjeu would be around the most, and would probably strike some sort of relationship with them. (Either sibling relationship, friends, or stuff like that. Not everyone here is considered exactly...family. ^^ More like having tons of close friends.)
Persied is my dream pet come true. I have saved for a very long time, and was able to buy his trans. potion about a year ago. Persied is a star draik with strange powers. His tears form into stars when he cries. He often travels around the world with his gallion, Phact, by his side. He is quite friendly, and also very wise.
Equitov will hopefully be my future krawk. He's Neopia's one and only hummingbird krawk. He has a slightly Irish accent, and is full of trouble. He loves nature, especially the forests. He may look rather strange, for he has no front legs, only wings. He sometimes doubles up his words. (For example, he'd say that you were a very socky sock. xD) It's a rather annoying habit, actually.
Once fearless of death, Zalurina is now a cursed phoenix. She is, indeed, noble and brave, but now she knows her time will come soon. Fighting for her people, she refuses to give up, even if it means sacrificing her very life. She is truly unsure of when she will die, she may be granted a few more chances. After all, she is still a phoenix, cursed or not. Zalurina was a wonderful gift from a wonderful friend, I really can't explain how much she means to me.
Zyv experienced a great number of tragedies early in life, and often wishes to shut himself away from the world. He has a strange scorpion trait in him, and his fangs bear poison. When a sandstorm destroyed his home and killed his family, he was left alone, and practically blind. This is the only pet of mine that Lenjeu already knows. ^^ Zyv was adopted into our family, and has been living with us for about two years now.
Xaehin is yet another one of my adopted pets. He has both wolf and lupe in him, and is essentially a hybrid. Because he was experimented on while he was still a pup, a strange type of phosphorus (stuff that makes you glow) flows through his veins, and gives him several advantages, including light feet and enhanced vision. His skin and markings glow a soft golden hue. Xaehin likes to live on the edge, and is a bit...irrational at times.
Although beautiful, Menka prefers the quiet life, away from crowds and noise. Her skin, or fur, is composed of something similar to liquid stained glass. She often spends her time reading, and has a rather advanced mind for her age. I suppose you could say that Menka is the baby of the family. Sweet and innocent, she loves helping others.
This is Naiymliss, or Lissy, Lenjeu's primella. Since Jule lives in a koi pond, there are obviously koi in it. xD Naiymliss seems to have a certain need to be by Jule, so eventually Lenjeu adopted the little fish as a petpet. When Lenjeu wants to wander from the koi pond for a while, she usually sticks Lissy in a bottle and carries her around. Naiymliss can be easily distinguished from most other koi because of the ribbon Jule tied around her tail. This makes it easy to see where Jule is, and it also compliments the colors of Lissy's scales.
I have been drawing Lenjeu more and more frequently, so I made a separate page where she has her very own art gallery. I really do wish there was more, but you had a deadline that was a bit short, and right when I leave for vacation. So...this is all I've managed to draw for Jule. You can go to the art gallery right here:
Lenjeu's Art Gallery
As I said before, I obviously plan on roleplaying Jule and getting her some buddies. ^^ I put up a short example of how I would roleplay her for you to see.
A soft wind blew ripples across a quiet garden pond. It was late summer, and birds sang in trees dressed in green. Small waterskater bugs gracefully skimmed the surface, only being disturbed by a hungry koi fish of the pond. But if one listened closely, they would hear a soft, melodic humming coming from the pond. Deep in the shade of water lilies, a small draikess sat, singing an abstract tune. Patches of sunlight filtered in through the water and shone on her glittering scales. Red and orange colors were splashed across her back, and her stomach was painted a pretty cream color. Black spots graced her back, and a split ornamental tail swished back and forth to her tune. She looked up at the surface of the water with vibrant blue eyes, full of curiosity. This could be a perfect day to sunbathe, she thought to herself absently. Her name was Lenjeu, and she loved four things: the sun, the water, her koi, and singing.
Here are a few links to places dedicated to Jule:
It seems you finally made it to the end of the application...congratulations, you survived! xD Like I said before, if you want any more proof that you have my total attention and devotion towards Lenjeu, just drop me a note and ask away! I'd be more than happy to rant on about Jule. =D Well, thanks so much for taking the time to read all this, I hope I didn't bore you to death. xD Good luck on choosing the perfect owner for Lenjeu! *escorts you out*
Just as a side note- If you get tired of listening to the music (it will continue on forever) then just hit the esc button on your keyboard. That'll silence it. ^.^ (It might take a bit to load) And, I would also recommend using the arrows for scrolling rather than the scrolly thing on your mouse. The text box might stop scrolling when you do that. As for the links- when you click on a link, then scroll with up or down (depending on where you want to go) and it will take you to close to the section. I think the invisible scollbar is messing up the links. Besides from that, you're good to go! Have fun!

It would probably be best to start from the very beginning. I don't know who my parents are, or where I'm from. I can only remember opening my eyes, and picking myself up from dark desert sand. Hot wind swept around my face and stung my eyes, clouding my newly acquired vision. It seemed like a storm was just dying down; there were tops of desert plants sticking out from the sandy ground, and sometimes I saw the bodies of a few small animals. For a few moments I just stared at the open landscape, then I took my first few steps forward. I slowly began to walk, with no particular destination. After only a few minutes of walking, I could feel my scaly skin to become dry and irritated. My eyes were constantly watering, and my feet were burning from the scorching sand.
After a while, I began to get a bit more used to the extreme conditions I had entered in, and trudged on through the sand. My mouth had become parched, but as a newborn, I had no idea what I was looking for that would make everything better. I knew there had to be something out there, so I just kept going. Little by little, my claws became a tire to pick up, and my head hung under the oppressive heat. But as I was about to give up, and just waste away what I had only begun, I thought I saw something in the distance.

Something green stuck out from the monotony of black sand and blue sky. Feeling a burst of confidence, I rushed forward, consuming the remainder of my energy. It was much farther than I had expected, so I wearily approached a small oasis in the midst of the desert. Slight foliage grew around a mid-sized pond, which was lined by medium sized black granite rocks. Something told me to go into the water, so I did. My scales tingled with relief, and I soon quenched my almost unbearable thirst. I also soon found out that this substance called water was breathable. My eyes could see extremely clearly through the cool desert water. Small koi fish had somehow made their way into the pond, the beautiful creatures swam gracefully around small rocks and water lilies. As I exited the pond I caught a glimpse of myself for the first time in the reflection of the water. Red, orange, and cream scales shone brightly with the reflecting water, and black spots graced my back. I stared in wonder as I realized how similar I was to the beautiful fish in the pond.
I very quickly established this small paradise as my home, and tried to stay around the koi fish as much as possible. I was extremely fascinated with them, and apparently, they were about me as well. One of them eventually followed me everywhere, so I considered her as my koi. The pond had visitors once in a while, but none of them ever really stayed for long...except one. A small fennec fox had taken refuge in a burrow slightly offshore. I soon learned that he spoke a language that I understood, and we soon became friends. His name is Zyv, and I soon learned that his family had died in a terrible sandstorm, which was probably also the fate of my parents. I also discovered other things, things about myself. I enjoyed making music, so I often would hum to my fishy friends. I noticed, however, that whenever I sang, the koi's scales seem to become brighter, like light had been reflected onto them. Zyv also told me the water of the pond had seemed clearer and cleaner the more I would hum. I discovered that my voice gave light to everything around me. The oasis stayed like this for many years, without change or disruption.

It was in my third year that I saw my first human. I was rather timid at the time, so I hid myself under the shelter of the water lilies in my pond. The human had arrived alone, and on foot, apparently. She had brown hair with red and blonde streaks. Soon she set up a temporary shelter near the pond, and slowly gained Zyv's trust. He told me after about two weeks of the human's presence that she wanted to bring him back with her. He didn't want to leave me alone here, but he really wanted to go with this human. I became immensely curious about the strange person, so I eventually ventured out of the safety of my pond, and into the view of this person. Zyv had told me she was called Kiki, and that she liked to make pictures of things. I plodded cautiously over to her, stopped a few feet away, and sat down. She looked up with interest, and a smile of some sort spread across her face. She put down a small pad of paper, and showed that I had her attention. She held out her hand as a greeting, I suppose. She looked safe, so I inched my way over to her and placed my snout gently into her open palm. Over the next few days, I became great friends with this 'Kiki', and I was eventually given the invitation to have a new home. Even though I had to leave my lovely pond, my koi could come with me. When we left the desert and came to my new home, people would stare at me in a strange way. I could not understand it, so I didn't let it bother me. It wasn't until much later that someone came up to me and told me I was something important, and that everyone wanted to be around me. They said I was a living good luck charm, like a cricket. For a time this fact bothered me, until Kikki bought me a book on omens and charms. It was there that I found an elaborate section on koi, and their significance. Perhaps my ability to bring light into things is a result of this, I cannot be sure. But others may believe that.

When I look for a pet to apply for, that pet has to not only catch my interest, (enough to make me check out the rules) but the pet must also be worth applying for. I have not applied for a pet in quite a while, and when I did, it was definitely not a popular "everyone on Neo is applying for" pet. It was a spotted tuskaninny, and I was the only one applying. And yet, I spent as much time on my application as I would for a draik or krawk. I could show you the application, and I can definitely say that it is one of the best I've ever done. So why spend so much time if I know nobody else is applying, why spend hours of my time to make sure the application is my very best? Because they deserve the best. Because they are worth spending hours of typing, drawing, and thought for an application. Sure, there are plenty of draiks and krawks in Neo Pound, but until Lenjeu came up, none had even sparked my interest. Lenjeu stood out when I first saw her in the 'newest 21' section. It was her name more than her species that caught my eye first. (My computer loads images slow sometimes, so I saw her name before her picture. xD) I love naming pets, and Lenjeu hit my soft spot. I don't know why, but I thought it sounded celtic, and I love celtic names. You should have seen how ecstatic I was when I found out she was my favorite species as well. As you can imagine, I quickly rushed to the rules, and found them to be reasonable, and looking for only the best. Once I'd gotten past this stage, there was no turning back. Unlike most pets, I had a slightly harder time thinking of a design and character for her, but it came eventually. So, summarized, the reason you're sitting here, reading this application, is because I feel that Lenjeu is worth applying for. She's more than just a yellow draik, she's a character in my mind that wants to come out. Face it, she's got my heart in a nice little cage, and she's not letting it out anytime soon. She has become one of my favorite characters, one that I won't forget easily.
But let me make this very clear to you: I seriously doubt I will be qualified to adopt Lenjeu. Believe me when I say that I have applied so many times for draiks and krawks, and I have not gotten the honor of adopting any of them. There are better owners out there, ones that draw better, have longer stories, spare np everywhere, and have millions of friends to back them up. Believe me when I say I really wish I had all that, so I could give you a breathtaking application, to show you how much Jule means to me. But not everyone has the same talent, and I know I'm among the ones who always come in second, no matter how hard I've worked on any application. I know, I'm completely putting myself down with this statement, but I'm pretty sure that you know it's true. So I need you to help me. Do you think you could focus on dedication more than presentation? I'm not saying I didn't try to make this application my best, I honestly did; This is my best. But 'my best' is less than the 'best' of others. I guess I'm looking for someone who can see that. Please don't act out of pity, I only hope you can look at your applications for Lenjeu with as much care as it took some of the applicants to make their applications. Thanks. =)
Kikki: *sets an orange primella on a silver platter and offers* I hope this will do then. The petpet has already been bought, it's sitting in my gallery at this very moment. There will be more info about the petpet later in the application, and I also have a link to my gallery down further. :3
Lenjeu: *examines petpet* Not too shabby, it could actually grow on me. Alrighty, now onto question #2. If you've gotten me a petpet, this also means that I get a petpage and lookup, specially designed for me.
Kikki: Yup, I have that coded and set up. This way, Sock, you can see them. ^^ There's a link to your lookup later on in the application, and you're basically looking at the petpage, give or take a few major things like a draik adoptable set and custom adoptables. Pretty snazzy, aye?
Lenjeu: I must admit it is to my taste. *ponders* But now...for the big whammie. Are you going to repaint me, and if so, what color?
Kikki: I would dearly love to repaint you...but I'm not sure I can. o.o Maraquan would be my first choice for you, but those paintbrushes are so stinkin' expensive. Yellow does surprisingly fit with your design, so I might just keep you the way you are. ^^ You look perdy enough for me. *hugs*
Lenjeu: *twitch* Why.are.you.hugging.me...Hokai, enough of this. *pries arms away* Back to questions. If you're going to adopt me, you need to transfer me over, now don't you? So, what exactly is your transfer experience?
Kikki: I'll put forth the fact that I have lost one pet in a transfer, he was a mutant lupe. That was because I had forgotten about the '4 month painted adoption' rule. That won't be an issue with Lenjeu, seeing that I plan to put her on one of my well-aged accounts. ^^ Besides from that, I have transferred painted, limited edition, high-level, etc. If the pet isn't painted, I just transfer by myself, but if it is painted or limited edition (which is the case here. ^^) I usually have a few people to assist me with the transfer, they are all very efficient when it comes to transfers. So really, Jule, you have nothing to worry about.
Lenjeu: Oh, good. At least you can do something right. *ebil grin* Now, you mentioned that I would be on a well-aged account. Which one, exactly?
Kikki: I would love to put you on Correntes, my dragon account. I would put you on my main, but you would fit in better over there, and I would have to do a lot of extra transfers in order to put you on my main. On Correntes, we transfer, and you're there. ^^ And don't worry, I'm on Neo almost every day, and I log onto all my accounts whenever I'm on. So you wouldn't be on a dusty, old, inactive account. I have actually been considering making Correntes my main account, although I haven't decided. Jule, you might make that decision for me. xD
Lenjeu: But when I'm over there, will I have friends?
Kikki: Don't worry, you'll be able to make friends easily, I'll be roleplaying and drawing you quite a bit. ^^ I'm sure you'll have tons of buddies soon!
Lenjeu: Goodies, I get friends. xD Now, just one last question. I'd really like an education, ya know. Got any plans to read books to me? It's apparently called...bonding with your pet. o.o What do you say?
Kikki: Of course I'll read you books! ^^ I've already got a small collection for you to start with in my gallery. (Once again, there is a link for my gallery further down in the application)
