Welcome guest to the Petpet Hall of Fame! This petpage is a tribute to all those well-known-yet-under-appreciated petpets across Neopia. Now, before caring on to those petpets, there are a few things you need to know:

A petpet in simplest form is a pet for your pet to love and take care of. As TNT puts it,

Petpets are cute little companions for your Neopet...Having a Petpet can make your Neopet happier, although they will have to look after them or their Petpet may run away.

There are over 200 species of petpets, from the every day Spyder, to the notoriously evil Meepit, and back to the trainer cardboard petpets. Petpets come in almost 425 different species (throughout all time) which can be painted over 40 colors, some with the help of one pets in the Hall of Fame.

Petpets can be bought in many places, including User Shops, the Trading Post, the Neopia Petpet Shop, or the Wintery Petpet Shop. Most of the Neopian worlds have their our petpet shop.

Now that it is understood what a petpet is, lets get to the Petpet Hall of Fame!

Jimmi and Woogy
Jimmi and Woogy, get that Doughnutfruit!!

Jimmi and Woogi, purple and orange respectively, are two Hasees of Hasee Bounce fame. Without them, it would have been likely that Hasees would not be around to pleasure pets today! When a clumsy, yet caring air faerie, Casandia, accidentally dropped her gathered Hasees through the cloud on which Faerieland rests, they made their way to Mystery Island (of course they didn't know that at the time. They just made their way to land). Being extremly hungry critters for their size, they began hunting for food immediately. They quickly smelled a brilliant smell, and looking up, they saw a seemingly endless supply of fruit on the trees above them.

However, being small creatures not made for jumping and being horribly clumsy climbers, they couldn't reach the Doughnutfruit. At that, two clever Hasees, Jimmi and Woogy, placed a piece of wood over a rock, creating a Hasee-powered lifting device, more commonly called a see-saw. With this, they were able to reach all the doughnut fruit their heart desired, saving the Hasees from starvation!

The Yooyu
Now, you may be thinking,

I thought only specific petpets could get into the hall of fame. I mean come on, what did the Yooyu as a species do to get here?

Well since you asked, every Yooyu in Neopia made it into the Hall because of their rich history. While the rest of Neopia only became aware of the Yooyu and its home, Altador, in the middle of Year 8 when a spell was lifted off Altador, the Yooyu was one of the first known petpets. To many, Altador is still an unknown land, being one of the first found on Neopia's untraveled side. However, many more Neopians became familiar with the land, and more so, the Yooyu during the Altador Cup. Every year for many years before the 1,000-year spell was placed on Altador, players from 15 others worlds plus Altador competed in the Altador Cup. The Altador Cup was an organized Yooyu Ball tournament. Yooyu ball is a game were 10 players on 2 teams (5 players/team) toss a different type of Yooyu around to eachother and try to score goals. The use of the Yooyu in this historic game is enough to secure it a place in the Petpet Hall of Fame.

Goregas
Goregas is, to say it lightly, a very larger Gulper. He gained his fame in the Curse of Maraqua Plot during Year 7. Isca, Goregas' loving owner is one of one of the main heroes in this plot. When Captain Scarblade and the pirate crew of the Black Pawkeet tried to invade Maraqua, Goregas was there to aid Isca while she helped to save the underwater metropolis. While there isn't a lot to say about this Gulper, Goregas is one petpet who should always be remembered.

In fact, Goregas earned his spot in the Petpet Hall of Fame at the direct request of King Kelpbeard and the rest of the Royal Maraquan Court.

The Petpet Lab Ray Kookith
The Petpet Lab Ray Kookith is, of all things, the inventor of a Secret Laboratory Ray just for petpets. Every day, hundreds of pets line up to use the Lab Ray hidden on a remote island which is only accessible after completing the Secret Laboratory Map. With them, these pets bring their petpet for both support and to bring them to the Petpet Lab Ray. With help from his owner, the Lab Ray Scientist, this mini version was invented and is run by this crazy little Kookith. Now the Petpet Lab Ray isn't /this/ small, that would be ridiculous! While there aren't many know facts about this little guy, there are many theories across Neopia. Some of Board of Directors at the Petpet Hall of Fame's favorite theories include:

  • The Kookith really isn't a Kookith at all. It's really a meepit in disguise, trying to turn Neopia's petpet population into Meepits to help them take over the world.
  • The Kookith is really a Feepit, trying to create more Feepits to help stop the Meepits from taking over.
  • The Kookith is really an ex-staff member, who, after insulting Asparagus in front of Adam, had to take refuge in a Petpet costume. She then hid with the Lab Ray Scientist, knowing Adam was too stingy to buy a map.
No matter who this Kookith really is, what it's lab Ray can do to your petpet can be both amazing, or horrifying (including making it go *poof*).

    Turmaculus
Turmaculus is often called the King of all Petpets. He started out as a regular Turmac, but one with a gigantic appetite. We, here at the Petpet Hall of Fame's Executive Office, have heard from a reliable source, the story behind this monstrous creature.

Once upon a time, when King Skarl (at that time he was known as Prince Skarl) was young, sometime between his Castle Battles days and becoming King, he was a very lonely Skeith. To help with his loneliness, the King, his and Hagan's father, bought him a little Turmac to call his own. Now, Skarl loved his new Turmac, which he named Turmaculus. Now 16 of these should do for lunch...However, in his time spent with Prince Skarl, Turmaculus picked up an appetite much like his owners: A huge one. Over the years, Turmaculus grew larger and larger. One day, Skarl took him up the Cheese Roller Hill (not to play, just to buy some cheese). Suddenly, Turmaculus dropped his cheese and he started to chase it down the hill. When he finally caught it at the bottom, he was too tired to get up. So he laid down and took a nap. From there, the story is clear. He never got up, he sleeps 23 hours a day, and during the 1 hour he is up, pets from across Neopia make their petpets try to make him stir. But caution must be taken, as he only has this hour to please his hunger, so keep a close eye on your petpets!

Stinky, Poopy, Smelly, Squelchy, and Nutty
Stinky, Poopy, Smelly, Squelchy, and Nutty are all the rage in Meridell. So much better than Poogle Racing, Turdle Racing is the Number 6 reason for Meridellian Tourism. Neopets come from all across Neopia to cheer, and even bet on their favourite Turdle. The Turdles, Clockwise from top: Stinky, Poopy, Nutty, Squelchy, and Smelly Turdle Racing is a very simple game to play. You just pick one of 5 Turdles and place a bet of up to 1,500 neopoints on it. If you wish to, you can feed them something delicious; its said to make them go faster (but I wouldn't count on it). Each Turdle has its own traits which different people love about them.

  • Stinky is fast (the fastest Turdle on this side of Tyrannia, mind you), and often makes last second comebacks to win.
  • Poopy is a little trickster, and often plays unfair. But anything goes in Turdle Racing!
  • Smelly, being...well, smelly, isn't the brightest, but when he nears the edge, no one wants to get near.
  • Squelchy is the second fastest Turdle, but often gets stuck the ground making him not so reliable.
  • Nutty almost never wins, but is fun to watch. He doesn't know how to pace himself, often causing him to fall asleep.
While these 5 Petpets aren't very well known yet elsewhere, their fame in Meridell is what got them onto this list.

    The White Weewoo
For the longest time, the White Weewoo was believed to be like Jellyworld: Nonexistent. However, in late Year 3, a bunch of the Neopian TimesI'm guarding this papers from the garbage man. For recyclers only! most publish writer got together and began to sneak the White Weewoo into this World-read paper. After a while, Snowflake, the editor at the time, caught on and used her awesome Staff Member powers to make the White Weewoo a reality.

Now, while the story of how the White Weewoo was discovered is quite interesting, that alone isn't why its in the Hall of Fame. The White Weewoo, as any well-read Neopian knows, is the mascot of the Neopian Times. It can be found sitting on a pile of old copies of the NT that TNT was going to send to the recycling center because TNT cares about the environment. Anyway, the White Weewoo seen in that picture (and the one seen at the bottom of most pages of the NT), is named Quillbert. He was one of the first white weewoos in Neopia! Quillbert, and the rest of Neopia's White Weewoo population makes the NT what it is today, giving them a spot in this Petpet Hall of Fame!

    Closing
Well that's all for now. But, as you can see, the world of petpets is nothing to be looked down upon. Some only think petpets are small little living toys for their pets. But as you can now see, petpets can earn their keep.

Now, if you think your petpet is something that the world should see, well, lucky you. I have ins with the National Neopian Petpet Spotlight Agency. You can contact them by clicking here hand in the correct paperwork here. Who knows?! Maybe one day your petpet can end up here, in the Petpet Hall of Fame! Until then, bye guest!

Update(8/3/07): Wow. I can't believe TNT actually picked my page for spotlight! I'd like to say thanks to everyone who took the time to congradulate me on this and to TNT for making it happen. -Amy
