Note to All: The following reference provides information regrading the various different methodologies used to challenge Neopets Food Club game. As with any game involved risk, please use any advice of information you find here or elsewhere with the utmost discretion. Neither myself, nor the Neopets Food Club Competition thread, nor the Neodaq Food Club Forum thread are responsible for any gains or losses you encounter as a result of advice taken from the following resources.

Welcome to The Food Club Review, your online resource for everything regarding the Food Club game on Neopets. The main focus of this page is as reference page for those taking part in World Food Club Competitions. A link to the neoboard thread for this month's competition can be found on the navigation on the right.

In addition to information regarding the competitions, this page also provides many resources on strategies on how to play the game as well as a library of links to various different petpages outlining the different stratigies many Food Club regulars use to make millions of NP every month. Sometimes, these regulars post their actually picks on their petpage, so be on the lookout for such free valuable information.

I will continue to work on improving this page as long as the Food Club game remains alive and well. If you have suggestions to the page, or just have a something you believe will be a big help to the viewing public, please feel free to neomail me. The Daily Outlook: May 23rd, 2013 (Round 5151)


The Daily Outlook is a brief outlook on the next day's Food Club card, complete with analysis and a free set of picks. Picks are posted as the day goes along. There will be three key release times:

1. Between 4pm and 5pm NST, there may be an initial release. This is not FINAL, but rather a work in progress for those who need it early.

2. Between 2am and 3am NST, there may be a second release. This is not FINAL, but rather a work in progress for those who need it early.

3. Between 12pm and 1pm NST, there will be a FINAL release for the day. This release will count as the official picks for results tracking.

Over the past 400+ rounds, these picks have an ROI of between +60% and +80%. If you follow along every day, a reasonable expectation will be between +2000 and +3000 net units earned on the year.

World Food Club Rankings


The World Food Club Rankings takes into account the past 12 months of competition. The Neodaq and Neoboard groups are combined into one leaderboard. Each month score is weighed according to age. The most recent 3 months are given full weight. The next 3 months are weighted at 75%, the next 3 at 50%, and the last 3 at 25%.

Monthly Tournaments


The Food Club Monthly Tournaments are were competitors publicly post picks and earn points based off of four categories: Total number of units won (40%), Best 8-game score in units (30%), Number of Cashes (over 10 units won in a day, 20%), and Best 1-game score in unites (10%). Scores in each category are log-scaled, with a maximum score of 100 points.

Food Club Bragging Rights:



- Once a day (OK to post with your daily picks), post in this thread one pet that you think will win today. If you can put your Bragging Rights in a bolded, labelled format like BR: Dan, it would be nice. Try to differentiate it from your survivor pick, please. :)

- NEW CHANGE: There is no longer any restriction for picking pets. You can duplicate without penalty.

- You may skip a day without penalty.

- Scoring is simple. If your pick wins, you get points equal to the winning pets' closing odds. If your pick loses, you get no points, but there is no penalty either.

- We will track winners based on both Win/Loss Record and Units Won (gross).

- That's it! Simple right? :)

Food Club Survivor



- Once a day (OK to post with your daily picks), post in this thread one pet that you think will win today. If you can put your survivor pick in BOLD, it would be nice.

- There are two player pools: A champions pool and a last chance pool. If your pick wins, you will move up to OR remain in the winner's pool. If your pick loses and you were in the champions pool, you will move down to the last chance pool. If your pick loses and you were in the last chance pool, you are eliminated.

- You can win the game is two ways: (1) If you are the only player that started in the Champions Pool to win in any given round. (2) If you are the only player that was not eliminated at the end of any given round.

- MERCY : If all players are eliminated at the end of a given round, the round does not count. Selections from that round can be used again.

- You may only pick a pet ONCE per competition. So if you pick Goobs on the first day, you cannot pick him the rest of the competition.

- If you duplicate a pick, it will count as a loss the first time. If you duplicate a pick another time, you will automatically be eliminated.

- If you skip/forget a round, that will count as a "NO PICK". "NO PICK" counts the same as any other pet, you may only pick "NO PICK" once in a competition. "NO PICK" will count as a loss.

- You MAY neomail/PM picks if you do not want it known public for strategy reasons.

Welcome to the Food Club Golden Week Challenge!

This event is a pick'em challenge focused around the 8 days that compose Golden Week:

- Each player starts with 10 stars.

- You may bet on any one pet from each arena daily. You may not select multiple pets from the same arena. This means, you may select a maximum of 5 picks per day. You are not required to make a pick in every zone.

- You may only bet on single winners. No parlays or chains.

- On each bet, you may wager 1, 2, or 3 stars. You may not bet fractional amounts. You may not bet more than 3 stars on a single play.

- A winning bet will receive (# of stars) * (Closing Odds) number of stars in return.

- One play single play during Golden week, you may pick a "Pick of the week". Whichever selection you denote this for will have a double payout for a win, with no penalty for a loss.

- Whoever has the most stars at the end of the 1st day of the next month will be declared the winner.

- The winner must have put a minimum of 10* in play (wagered) in order to be declared the winner.

- Post Format:

Arena Name: (# of Stars)* PICK NAME

- Example:

Shipwreck: 2* Scurvy Dan the Blade

- Scores will be updated daily.

Food Club Fantasy Challenge



The game is simple. Create a team of up to 5 Food Club pets to be your fantasy team. Each pet costs a salary, which is equal to their official neopets historical WIN%. You can find this on the following page, under the % column: http://www.neopets.com/pirates/foodclub.phtml?type=pirates

- You may select between 0 to 5 pets.
- You may have a maximum salary of 100 for your entire team. If you are OVER, you will not receive any points for the day.
- Each day, you score points equal to closing odds of any winner. So, if you have a 13:1 winner and a 2:1 winner on a day, you win 15 points.
- You may switch members of your team from day to day, but each transaction will cost you 10% of all winnings you have to that point. - Switching pet A for pet B counts as one transaction. If you want to switch two pets, that will count as two transactions.


Post your team (along with win%), and that will count for all 5 days unless you decide to change it. Naming your team is optional (but fun?). Results will be posted daily.
