4. You may ONLY apply for one of these pets if you:
~ Have been on Neopets for over four months. I MAY be prepared to accept a 3-monther if you're willing to wait. This rule is partly TNT's and partly mine-- I'm a bit hesitant to adopt out to someone who's hardly settled in. If you don't yet know for sure that you want to make Neopia your home, I don't think you can offer a home to my pets.
~ Have less than four pets already on the account intended for the new arrival, or are planning to transfer a pet out of that account (to another of your own) in the next few weeks. Above all, do not abandon one of your pets to make room for one of ours. Also, we'd rather you didn't apply for another pet at the same time as ours, unless there's a special reason for doing so (which you should include in your application).

5. Be creative and specific. I understand as much as the next failed artist that love for a pet cannot be judged on artwork and HTML, and therefore I'm fine with Neomail applications (if you WANT to make a petpage, by all means knock yourself out, but don't expect to be treated like a VIP because of it). That doesn't mean, however, that I'm going to throw my fosters at the first person to send me a message saying "can I have your Peophin pls? I really like it". I'm not going to adopt out a foster to someone I hardly know. Some things to include in your application might include reasons why you want my pet, a description of your Neopian life, and something about the pets you own already. No chatspeak, please, as I find it rather hard to read.

6. Avie's Agency does NOT accept third-party applications. If a friend of yours wants to adopt one of our pets so badly, they must talk to me themselves. I will not consider any application from an account unable to Neomail. No excuses will be accepted.

7. If a pet is in possession of its own petpet, I expect them to stay together. The petpet will probably be a lab mouse and would revert to an inexpensive species if removed. DC is certainly not willing to send any pet to a home so impoverished that the owner has to sell his or her pets' own petpets to keep going.

8. Please let me know as soon as possible if any of the following occur:
You decide to apply for another pet at the same time as mine. (Bear in mind that you must have two free pet slots so you don't have to choose if we both accept you.)
You no longer wish to be considered as an applicant.
You are expecting to be absent for a period of more than three weeks.

9. To let me know you've read these rules, please include this somewhere in your application. You can put them in a Neomail, in a shop, on a petpage, in a story, in a subject line, I DON'T CARE, but get them in!

11. The pets with a notice of adoptability on their lookups are the ONLY ones who will ever be up for adoption. Please do not ask me for any of the others.
If a pet's status is not made explicit, assume that it is NOT up for adoption.

12. By applying for one of my pets, you are acknowledging that these rules are reasonable and legal. If you have any issue with any of these rules or think they contravene the Terms and Conditions, please Neomail me about this. I'd much rather hear it from you than from TNT.
