Reaching the edge of the island brush you come to hear the familiar clashing waves, bird calls, and the whistling of the wind. The sun pouring over your skin and the heat washing sweat at your brow. An unrecognized sound drapes into your ears. A shriek? Casting your gaze to a rather damp looking, beige, tan colored kougra wearing a vibrant green tie with eyes to match is stretched out in the water in front of you.

Are you gonna keep starring or introduce youself? The kougra said playfully, while noticing your presence.

Bewildered you create the excuse that the outgoing kougra startled you when you were on a walk. Feeling slightly hot you decide to tip you bare toes into the cool water. Lining yourself up beside the island pet you calm yourself by stetching your feet into the melow aquamarine water. Striking up a conversation about this lovely beach you relax more, even in the beautiful neopet's presence.

I'm still waiting to find out who you are, laughed the kougra.

Embaressed that you forgot to introduce youself, you tell her your name is guest.

Still quite intrigued about the young tan kougra you continue the conversation by asking her some questions. She seems to enjoy your curiosity so she ramble on about her life.

Ok, she grins, I'll tell you about myself but it may take a while.

I was born in Mystery island in a same cottage along the beach. I lived with my father and brother. My mother left my father for another kougra. I still live with my brother and father today but now I am older and more mature.

My family was a happy one until the the step-witch came along, at least that's what I call her. My father fell in love with her a year after my mother left. I was two at the time. My father stayed with her until I was seven. She was cruel to me and my brother as my father's back was turned but as soon as he turned around she put on a fake smile and cooed at as. We were so cute when my father was looking.

Eventually my father witnessed her abuse. He ordered her out of the house and she hates us all now, not just my brother and I.

Then, when I was 10 my family suffered a great loss. My father drowned while swimming. As it is hard to believe, a feline swimming, but he was an amazing swimmer. The island police told my brother and I that he must have not known how to swim well and didn't look into further investigation. I knew otherwise. It must have been another creature that pulled him under or perhaps a storm passed my and he lost control under the waves. I inherited my fathers swimming skills, although my brother did not.

My brother and I took a hard beating after his death. I know it seems strange that my only comfort was stroking under the water especially after my the death my father confronted under the water, but it indeed was. Every day I would swim out into the sea, letting go of my fears underneath the salt assorted water.

Now today my brother and I only live in the bamboo-crafted cabin. We are quite adjusted to this new responsible life, without my father. We are old enough to live alone and manage our lives. We still have lots of time to ourselves as well. It's not just work, work, work! Anyway I'm sure you've had enough about me, although I wouldn't understand why for I am a fabulous island kougra, she smirked.
