1.)How many castles are there?
There are seven castles (shown to the left.) You automatically have access to the first two castles, you gain access to the other 5 castles by beating the castles (i.e knocking off the treasure). I have been most successful with Castle 5, but by all means, try out different castles and find one that works best for you :)
2.)He keeps getting my treasure!! HELP!!!
As they say in real estate, location, location, location! The location of your treasure really will make or break you! Try and put your treasure in places that will support the back of your treasure chest. In other words make sure the back of your treasure is touch the walls of your castle. This will help prevent direct hits from knocking your treasure backward so easily. Also, be sure not to put your treasure in front of any fallen wall pieces, as all Skarl has to do it hit that pieces and it will slide and hit your treasure off, if nothing is behind it. When hiding your treasure try and put it in really difficult places, like in a pile of rubble or behind heavy objects.
3.)*Sniffle* My castle is in ruins!!!!! What can I do?!?!
Don't worry, this is actually better for you!! At least for me, the more damage the castle takes, the more new places you have to hide your treasure! This is why I use Castle 5. It has high walls, and when hit, the walls create great hiding spots! In many cases the walls will fall on top of one another creating a great back support for your treasure, as it is very hard to move their weight backward! If you can find a spot where there are at least two wall pieces on top of one another and the big top tower piece in front, you might have yourself a great hiding spot! :)
4.)But how come Skarl gets a new castle after each round?!?!
Welp, this happens for two main reasons. One, is during the first 6 sessions you have to beat the new castle in order to use it. Another reason is just to make it harder for you of course! There is a little help for you as well thought. After the 1000 point mark your castle is repaired!! This only happens once, but you can also select a different castle at this point. When it goes to the next screen for you to place your treasure the arrow buttons re-appear. Just scroll through your newly unlocked castles and select one with better treasure protection. If you are just starting to unlock castles (ie. you are using one of the two base castles 1 or 2) I'd suggest you'd change your castle for an upgrade before you continue gameplay.
5.)I aim, I shoot, I miss! :(
Don't aim high! To create the best damage aim low and try and get the power as high as possible, this does way more damage and knocks down more flags! If Skarl's treasure ends up buried under a bunch of rubble. aiming low and with lots of power has a better potential of knocking it free. Fallen doors however WILL present a challenge! Also, when it comes to Skarl, don't underestimate his aim! Just because you've hidden your treasure in a spot he can't hit you in the first time, doesn't mean he'll miss in the next round. As the game progresses Skarl gets MUCH better aim, and will begin to go directly for the spot your treasure is hidden in.
6.)What is the deal with those flags??
The flags add 10 bonus points to your score each time you knock one down after each round. They are worth 7 points each during the game. The gold flag however, is even more special. Hitting the gold flag will result in your next shot firing a SUPER huge cannon ball! Talk about killing two birds with one stone!!!!!!! The gold flag is worth 12 points during the game. The giant cannon ball isn't the best for damage, but if your not to good at aim, it can really come in handy to hit the flags on levels where the flags are off to the sides of the castle (i.e castles 1,3,6). If you have some time to play with, try and get all of the flags, it will aid greatly in getting a higher score if you can get them all.
7.)Why can't I score points in accuracy?
You can! It's just really hard. From those I have asked, you gain accuracy points by knocking the treasure chest off the square with one shot. If you can accomplish it…great! If not, no worries, it only gives you 10 points for the feat!
8.)So how many points are possible anyway per round?
Glad you asked! In total 300 basic points are possible per round. 200 points for full castle damage, 50 points for all flags, and 50 points for the treasure hit. If you are a superhuman (LOL) 310 points are possible, if you can manage to take out all flags, kill the whole castle, AND knock the treasure off all in one hit! If you can do that, be sure to take a screen shot so we can all be jealous! lol Thanks to Nuke101 for the point breakdown :)
9.) So, *nudge nudge* where ARE the best places to hide treasure?
*Eyes you curiously* lol The second image located to the left shows the best places, in my opinion to hide your treasure. I thoroughly recommend staying AWAY from castle 1 and 7 and be careful with castle 6. If you are going to use castle 6 DO NOT hide your treasure in the center. If anything, hide your treasure behind one of the large blue tower pieces in the back or between the two big blue block tower pieces. Don't put it in the center of the blue tower pieces however, the ball stands a chance of going through the space in then and knocking your treasure off. There is no backing to protect from a direct frontal assault on castle 6, but hopefully Skarl will hit your walls and cause rubble. Castle 1 has no backing to stop your treasure from going backward, and castle 7.….well….do you really want to rely on just a wall to protect you?!?!?! Don't get me wrong, the wall has a HUGE advantage if it falls backwards and covers your treasure, but by now Skarl is really gunning for your treasure! Be careful! But hey, if you can get away with any of those, by all means use them : ) All in all when using brand new, non damaged, castles, those are the best hiding spots in my opinion, but if your castle is damaged, try and hide your treasure under rubble, under pieces that form an upward ramp (when the ball hits this type of hiding spot it will shoot the ball in the air), and especially spots where the back and the front of the treasure are protected. Note: In your castle, the door and the very top white tower crown pieces are the heaviest pieces, hiding your treasure in a spot where the back of your treasure is supported by one of these pieces is ideal.
10.) Well, hiding the treasure is great, but what are the best places to hit HIS castle?!?
Alright…that's it…I'm not telling you anymore…*notices you giving sad faces*….awwwwwwwwwww okay…okay I'll tell ;) The third image down to the left shows the best place to target the castle for damage and just for hitting the treasure chest. The white circles indicate places that are best for damage and/or taking out the castle flags. In mainly castles 3 through 6 going for damage is at your own peril. These castles, when hit, create TONS of rubble, which can make it almost impossible to hit the treasure, and still maintain your sanity! Here's a in depth breakdown:
Castle 1
Damage: If you want good damage in this castle aim toward the base of the towers and try and fire at full power towards the towers. The impact should demolish the WHOLE row. This attack applies to both tower sides.
Treasure:If the treasure is just what your after, aim for the very center piece. This will allow you to get a clear shot at the treasure if it is placed inside the castle.
Castle 2
Damage: Aim for the same spots as in Castle 1. The impact this time, if done correctly, will take out both towers on the side of impact. For instance if you aim for the base of the tower on the left, both left side towers should fall, if hard enough.
Treasure:If you just want the treasure try and aim just for the center of the door. Most of the time Skarl's treasure is somewhere near the door. You also have a good chance of knocking the treasure off in one shot.
Castle 3
Damage: Aim for the very top hand corners of the tower crown pieces. In the right crown, aim for the left hand side, and for the left crown aim for the right hand side. This is to hopefully knock the crown and wall AWAY from the inside of the castle in case the treasure is inside the castle.
Treasure:As always, try and aim for the door. If the treasure is in the inside, hopefully the door will knock it off the square, if it is behind the castle BE CAREFUL! I'd say to try and demolish the back wall, but be cautious, the rubble can create an HOUR of trying to knock the treasure off.
Castle 4
Damage: This castle gets risky with damage. If you must cause some damage, gun for the outside towers ONLY. Hitting the inside towers may block your treasure forever!
Treasure:You know the drill lol….use the door. If the treasure isn't in the inside, try and aim for the wall the treasure is behind.
Castle 5
Damage: Damage should be avoided here! But, if you must, aim for the back towers ONLY! If you never want to find the treasure, try hitting another spot and see what happens LOL
Treasure:Aim for the center. If the treasure is inside the castle hopefully the hit with either knock the treasure off, or show you where it is. If you can see it from the front, then may the force be with you! You are most likely going to have to knock down the top right tower crown to see if the treasure is in the center. But beware, you have entered rubble city! Good luck!
Castle 6
Damage: Aim for the flags ONLY! Hitting the castle will make a world of hurt for you when you try and get the treasure! If you must go for damage here, my best advice is to aim for the outside walls, not the front or back walls.
Treasure:If you can see the treasure aim for it right away! Aim as low as possible though, because if you get off the most powerful shot, you might hit the castle…and here goes another hour of trying to get the treasure!
Castle 7
Damage: Castle 7 can create a hiding spot for treasure depending on the treasures position. If the treasure is behind the wall far enough I wouldn't recommend going for damage. If it's in front of the wall…damage it good!!!! If you want damage here aim high and gun for the very top of the tower. This will prevent rubble if the treasure is in the very front.
Treasure:Normally you'll see the treasure. If you see it aim directly for it. If you don't try and damage one of the outside towers to find out where it is.
I would recommend using Castles 1, 2 and 7 to rack up points on damage, and use all other castles to strike just the treasure. In the image to the right, the circled treasure just means go directly for the treasure….as each time you face each level the treasure will be in a different spot.
11.) So all in all, is there anything else to know about the castles…like any…I don't know…SECRETS!?
Ahh, so this is what you've been getting at huh? Lol Well, alright I GUESS I'll share what I know LOL
Cannon Secret: Did you know that after you fire your cannon, if your shot is a little off you can direct the cannon ball? After your shot is fired, just tap the arrow direction you want the cannon ball to go. If you shot the ball to far right, then tap the left arrow key to guide the ball left. Thank you fghfgjh96 for the information!
T for Treasure!: If you find that the treasure is behind a T shaped wall setup, in the center, aim for what would be the base of the T (the vertical piece), a hard hit should knock the treasure right off!
Let's play space: I am sure many of you by now have heard of the space bar. Well, if you get the timing right, tap the space bar before Skarl is about to shoot and the power of hit shot will change. Sometimes though Skarl will bypass this move and gun evilly for your treasure. He doesn't like having his shot tampered with! (Be careful using this, I am still not sure if this is a glitch or part of the game.)
EarthQuake!: I am not sure if it's happened to you, but sometimes Skarl will use a shot that goes so fast and hits so hard, it causes pieces to move or fall. Well you can do the same thing to him! Try and aim a little high but use a shot with the most power, sometimes, if you are luck, the shot will cause pieces, you didn't even hit or come close to, to move or fall.
