Screen Effect Tutorial
Basically, this tutorial will show you how to give your image an overlay of two colors. It really makes images POP! Haha. I prefer using this technique with celeb pictures.
Let's start.
First, find an image you would like to use and paste it onto a canvas. I am using an image of Lauren Conrad. (Yes, I like the hills :P)

Now, use the Eyedropper tool and find two main colors that are in the image. I chose a blue and silver color.

Now go to your layer's palette and choose effects : gradient overlay.

Now, choose the gradient that has the two colors you picked. Then, set the blending mode to screen. You can reverse the gradient if you like, or mess with the opacity.

That's it, your finished! Here's my finished product.

Text Masking Tutorial
This tutorial will hopefully help people out by making your fonts a lot cooler! Basically, text masking is filling text with and image.
Let's start.
First, start out with an image that you plan on using. Here's
mine. Use the text tool and type you word over a certain place anywhere on the image. The text color needs to be black.

Make sure your image is below the text like this.

Use the magic wand tool and select all of the black text while holding down SHIFT.

Once that's completed, drag the image layer on top of the text. You should see what your text will turn out like but, to keep it like that you need to click the mask tool, located on the bottom of the palette.

That's it! Some images will look better then others but just try it out. Try adding a border too, that makes it look much better. Here's how mine turned out.

Gaussian Blur Tutorial
This tutorial is very simple, but the finish looks awesome. Using this tutorial, you will give your image a glow effect and look kind of fuzzy or warm look. (It's hard to explain :P)
Let's start.
First, start photoshop and paste your image onto a canvas. Here's the image I'm
using. Then click Layer - Duplicate Layer, then press OK.

Now, select how many pixels you want to blur it. I usually choose 5 or less.

On the layers palette, set the blending mode for the duplicated layer to overlay.

Finally, press Control + E to merge the layers together. Now your finished! Hope this tutorial helped. Here's how mine turned out.

Line Pattern Tutorial
For ages I was searching for a tutorial to do this trick! All it does is gives an image thin lines going across which looks really cool. I made one to help other people out who were in my situation!
Let's start.
First, start photoshop and create a 3 by 3 pixel image. Then, magnify the image to 3200 percent.
Next, use the pencil tool and create a diagonal line going going across from the top right corner to the bottom left corner. Make sure your brush is at 1.

Now go to Edit - Define Pattern. Then name the pattern
stripe and press OK.

Now that we created the pattern, open the image that you are going to use. Here is the
image I am using.
Then, click Edit - Fill. A window will pop up with options. First choose pattern, then under custom pattern choose the stripe pattern you made. Then for blending mode, choose overlay. Also, have the opacity at 100%.

That is it. Hope this tutorial helped. Here is how mine turned out.

Blending Images Tutorial
This tutorial will teach you how to seamlessly blend two images together. Its a very cool effect, especially if you use a lot of images. I am starting off with the basics though, so I will only be using two images. These are the images I am using.

Let's start.
First, start out with a canvas size of about 1000 by 1000 pixels. Then, paste the two images you are going to use onto the canvas. Place them side by side, but having the top layer overlapping the bottom layer just a little bit.

Now, select the elliptical marquee tool and draw a circle where the images overlap each other. This is where the blending will be.

On the top of the toolbar, make sure that "feather" is set to 20.

This is how your image should look after you have drawn a marquee circle around the overlapping part.

Make sure your top layer is selected. Then press delete. Now you are finished! Here is how my image turned out.

Full Page Layout
If you want to know how to make a full page layout, this tutorial is for you! If you want to know how to code it, please visit my friend's tutorial -
here.
Let's start.
First, copy your image.. Then, paste the image you are going to use onto a canvas. (Make sure there is no white space/transparency) I am using
this image. (Note. You will make the canvas size full page later on.)
Now add a gaussian blur. (See gaussian blur tutorial for details.)

Next, add a stripe pattern. My pattern is black, and was made on a 10 x 10 canvas, not 3 x 3 (see stripe pattern tutorial for details.)

(This part is optional but recommended.) Add some brushes on the layout. I usually just splat random ones anywhere on the page. I used some writing brushes and paint splats. You can find them at swimchick.net

This effect is probably my favorite!! Add a gradient overlay. To do this, go to effects, then gradient overlay. I chose a rainbow pattern, set the blending mode to hue, and set the opacity to 64. You can experiment with other patterns if you want.

Now we are ready to make the canvas full page! Go to Image - Canvas Size, and change the height and width to 1000 x 700 pixels. Move your image a little bit to the left side of the page, so that the blog box will be able to work. Now, use the rectangle tool to create a blog box. Make the color of it white, and change the opacity to around 63 percent. Then, go to Effects - Stroke. Add a border of 1 px and make it black.

Add a blog title and links! Tips: Try downloading a cool font, but don't make the effects extreme. Now, add a border to the layout. Go to Effects - Stroke. I made my border 13 pixels, white, and on the outside. Now add a background of your choice. Congratulations, you just made a full page layout!
