Nelly's Family Under Construction Shari is my annoying sister. She's always got her nose in a book and she actually likes going to Neoschool, can you believe that? But Dream insisted I put her first here 'cause she was the first pet to live in our house. Like that counts for anything. I'm the oldest out of us three. Anyhow, Shari likes history lessons *shudder*, staying indoors on cold days, and anything involving Jeran Borodere. I'm more of a Hannah pet myself. And that's me! Nelly to my friends. Well, to everyone really, Shari calls me that too. Naturally I'm an Acara, the best species in the whole of Neopia, and Dream knows it really. She adopted me because she thought Shari needed someone to play with. Pity that we're more inclined to chase each other 'round the house. Straight off she got me Keegle when I arrived, and we've been together ever since. It's a pity I can't seem to remember where I came from, though... Silver is my younger brother, but you wouldn't know it. He acts like he's really old, even though he's only about the same age as Shari. He's also a vegetarian. I wasn't quite sure what that meant when he arrived, but apparently he won't have any meat to eat 'cause it reminds him of being made to hunt Chias. If you ever have a little while to spare ask Dream to tell you how we got him, it's a tall story but I swear it's all true. Anyhow, Silver's the gentlest pet in the world. He wouldn't hurt a Cooty. This is Avie. She's really old, over twenty I think, and she lives with her sibs in a little house somewhere on the Neopian Plains. She's always busy, cooking and reading mail and looking after a whole bundle of foster kids. Rather her than me. She's really nice though. And that's Stat. He's a bit of an odd one. He shares the house with Avie, but half the time he's off wandering somewhere else. He fancies himself as a secret agent, but I don't know who he'd be working for... he certainly isn't a Defender of Neopia. Plus he's generally got Laurrie following him around. He's got a toy cart that he's modified to have a lid that opens, and he takes it most places. Sometimes he's even put pets in it and given them a free ride. Jachinthe is a really weird pet. She's all girly, for a start. She got really freaked out when the lab scientist turned her into a boy, and she camped out for three months in the lab until he agreed to change her back. Scary, huh? I wouldn't argue with her myself. She may be a girl but she doesn't fight like one. If she doesn't like you you might get kicked in the ear... and Acaras have really sensitive ears, didja know? Shant used to live on Mystery Island, but there was a bit of a kerfuffle and she got kicked out. Try not to ask her about it. Dream says I shouldn't have favourite siblings, but I really, really love Laurrie. For a start, she's an Acara like me, and she's so small! What's not to like? It's true she's a girl, but you can't have everything, can you? Anyhow, Laurrie got brought to the Adoption Centre when Avie was working part-time there. Avie liked her, and she took her with her when she bought that house on the Neopian Plains. Laurrie's a sweet sort of girl, but she isn't stupid. She can take care of herself. This is Becky Star. She... well, I don't know what to say about her, really. She's so shy that I barely get to speak to her. Sometimes Blue can get her to come out and play in the snow, but most often she likes to stay inside with her Angelpuss, Gemmie. She doesn't seem to get on with anyone but Blue in particular. How can she live like that? Dream says we're not to be hard on Becky and that it isn't any wonder she's the way she is. I dunno what she means. On the other paw, Dream says Blue is the best thing that ever happened to Becky. She certainly had one of the most exciting entrances I've ever seen. Jachinthe was looking for her missing Petpet and found Blue asleep in a house that was about to be knocked down! Her brothers and her sister had gone and they thought she'd go when she was ready, but then Blue got sick and couldn't stand on her own four paws. Jachinthe managed to get her back home and we found her a room in Becky's house. She's a quiet girl, but nice enough when you get to know her. Desi is nothing like as graceful as Blue. In fact, she's clumsier than me. She's an artist in her spare time, but her main job is keeping a hotel in Sakhmet City. It's amazing she ever keeps it tidy, considering the amount of paint that must get everywhere. Desi is always falling off things, bumping into things, tripping over things... She helps Avie sometimes by putting up a foster pet or two at the hotel. And then there's Mem. What is there to say about this kid? She's pretty stupid, to tell you the truth. She likes the colour pink and anything with flowers or Usukis on it. Shari says we can't help that, since she's only six years old. Still, Usukis? Yuck. I suppose the only good thing about Mem is that Dream's made her the mascot for her In Defence of Fostering page. Oh, did I forget? We've got a new brother.
